After eight weeks of cinematic exploration into the world of "drugs movies" for Season 11, Dan and Sarah are back to share some of our favourite moments from the season! Sarah's season of drugs films has certainly been a 'journey', and not always the warm, fuzzy, hot chocolate kind. From the 'quintessential drugs movie' vibes of Trainspotting and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and the notoriously bleak Requiem for a Dream, to the time-bending drug trips of Synchronic and the chaotic highs of Pineapple Express, this season has had it all. And yes, we've even managed to shoehorn in a few tangents about the American Pie franchise, Herbie, and why we'd rather live in the American Sock timeline. So, what can you expect from the "best of drugs movies" season, you ask? Well, apart from us probably weeping under the stairs, you'll get: Deep dives into drug-themed cinema, from the "most paranoid movie known to man" to films that make you question reality and the human condition. Behind-the-scenes insights including how David Bowie helped secure Trainspotting's iconic soundtrack and why Danny Boyle turned down a knighthood. Explorations of directors' filmographies, including the unique approaches of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead and the distinctive, often challenging, style of Gaspar Noé. Chaotic discussion, pop culture detours (like debating sexy presidents), and strong opinions on everything from Love Actually to whether Rosie Perez needed to be so 'menacing' in Pineapple Express. Make sure to mark September 8th in your calendar as that is when we return for season 12! Would you like to see the full lineup for season 12? This week, we're back and we brought a friend, as we head back to the cinema for another In Theaters Now edition of the podcast, and bring returning favourite Matt Pollock (@mattysmovies4ever) along with us for the relaunch of a movie that was a childhood fave of both Justin and Matty, but is all new to Hayley, our resident Lonely Island obsessive... It's 2025's The Naked Gun, directed by Akiva Schaffer, written by Akiva Schaffer, Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, and starring Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Danny Huston, CCH Pounder, and pod favourite Kevin Durand, with a slew of cameos along the way as well. While it would be foolish to doubt that the man who made Popstar or Hot Rod would be ill equipped to handle a Naked Gun relaunch, it seems just as foolish to believe a legacy remake of a classic 80s comedy property could possibly be good, or a good idea. As it turns out, this one is great, skewering north of two decades' worth of action films that have gone largely unspoofed, while (fingers crossed) reviving the concept of the Big Summer Comedy altogether. Like a 100-layer lasagna of laughter, there is an unprecedented joke density to this script, and they nearly all land right in the ribs. An incredibly funny film from start to finish, the convergence of two of the pod's great loves, we simply had to discuss it. And of course, while this whole episode is covering a movie currently in theaters, we've also got Theatrical Field Reports on Superman, Fantastic Four: First Steps, Weapons, and Eddington! If you'd like to watch the movie before listening along to our discussion, it's currently showing at your local multiplex but will likely find its way to Paramount+ roughly five weeks from now. Other works discussed on this episode include Airplane!, MacGruber, Happy GIlmore 2, Bad Trip, Anchorman, Wedding Crashers, Kingsman: The Secret Service, the original Naked Gun trilogy, Snack Shack, the Ed Helms Vacation lega-sequel, Funny People, Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express and more, I don't know, I can't list them all off, I'm on my own Vacation currently (sans Ed Helms). We'll be back next month doing who knows what, but it will definitely be a more regular release schedule than what we've had of late. Thanks for bearing with us, we appreciate and love you all. Until then, we'll see you at the movies!!

Welcome back to The DC Beer Show, your hub for all things craft beer across DC, Maryland, and Virginia! This episode, we welcome Tasha Dixon from Ardent Craft Ales in Richmond, Virginia, for a lively conversation packed with brewing insights, local flavor, and community celebrations. The show kicks off with the crew sharing what's in their glasses—expect shout-outs to Trillium's foeder-aged lager, Ardent's Bohemian Pilsner and IPA 14, and a juicy Kolsch from Bearchase. Tasha dives into Ardent's brewing philosophy, revealing the story behind their flagship IPA 14 (it's all about that 14th, all-Citra batch!) and the magic of scaling up their canning operations with a lean, cross-trained team. If you've ever wondered what it takes to juggle 12- and 16-ounce cans or wrangle small-batch innovation into a flagship core lineup, this behind-the-scenes peek is for you!Get ready for some hop talk as Tasha explains the role of Yakima Chief's Cryo Pop hops in Ardent's vibrant “Pop!” pale ale, and dishes on tweaking recipes for maximum aroma on a budget. The episode takes a fun detour into cannabis-inspired brewing, with Tasha describing her forays into terpene beers—think Pineapple Express and Winner Winner. While there's no THC or CBD involved (yet, Virginia law!), these botanic brews deliver big “wow” factor and bring curious crowds into the taproom. The conversation also digs into the resilience and evolution of the Richmond beer scene. Tasha speaks candidly about recent brewery closures in the area, the pressures of leases, and the importance of community support—plus what makes Richmond's Scott's Addition neighborhood such a vibrant, collaborative hotspot for breweries, cideries, and distilleries. With Pride Month upon us, Tasha shares how Ardent and their Scotts Addition neighbors are teaming up for a Pride Bar Crawl, with special releases (including a berry seltzer called “Berry Proud”), passports, and proceeds benefiting Richmond Habitat for Humanity's Pride Build. Expect plenty of events throughout June and again for Virginia Pride in September, all designed to foster inclusion and celebration across the community. As always, our hosts shout out coming events in DC and the broader DMV, including Womxn's Brew Culture Club meetups at Denizens, a members-only beer share at Sovereign, and the Wheatland Spring Land Beer Fest (hello, Tre Fontane!). They also salute longtime Richmond beer fans—special birthday cheers to Frank Chang!—and encourage everyone to experience Richmond's hospitality, food, and ever-evolving beer scene. The episode wraps up with a heartfelt toast to closed and closing breweries, the promise of more openings ahead, and the enduring truth: Beer always helps. Normalizing Non-Monogamy - Interviews in Polyamory and Swinging
Kiley and her husband jumped into swinging about four years ago and hit the ground running... Or possibly sprinting. After their first trip to a swingers club they started going to clubs and events frequently and at the same time Kiley decided she wanted to share their journey of learning and exploration on social media. Kiley takes us through their journey over the last four years as she shares how much of an impact the experience has had on her life and who she is today. Swinging lifestyle events and social media consumed her life for years before she ultimately had to step back and re-evaluate what she was wanting from it and what parts of herself she needed to heal. Today, Kiley and her husband are still exploring swinging and non-monogamy and she shares with us what that looks like and how she has brought balance back into her life. Kiley George is a passionate sex and relationship coach, content creator, non-monogamy and sex work advocate, and host of the The Pineapple Express Podcast—A Millennial Swingers Podcast. With years of experience in the swinging and non-monogamous world, Kiley specializes in helping individuals and couples explore their desires and build meaningful relationships. She is also a dedicated advocate for sex-positive spaces and works closely with clubs, events, and thought leaders to create inclusive, educational experiences for the community.
