This week Shaun was off getting married and decided that this new chapter in life was a great opportunity to reflect back on the past 12 months. So Shaun revisited his first interview ever on Excuse me. Back in April 2020 Shaun sat down with his 'gal pal' Jaclyn Webb as they the spoke about the Covid_19 pandemic (whilst attempting to be socially distant) and how it was impacting their lives at the time. They gave some predictions for what the future would hold. were they right? only one way to find out... Hit that play button. This week Shaun is going it alone as he shares with you an incredibly personal experience with loss and grief after his best friend Flynn lost her battle with cancer. Losing Flynn played a major part in the creation of the blog 'Excuse me' which later turned into this podcast. This was an incredibly difficult and emotional episode to record and as such it draws content straight from Shaun's blog post 'To the moon and back' which was written not too long after the loss of his best friend. At some point in our lives, we are all faced with the mortality of the people we love and that of ourselves. No one really tells you what to expect when you lose someone close to you because it is always such a different and unique experience for every individual. some helpful links for you should you need them https://www.beyondblue.org.au/https://www.lifeline.org.au/https://mindspot.org.au/https://qlife.org.au/Cancer charitieshttps://donate.canteen.org.au/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw6575BRCQARIsAMp-ksPQreiszFgLvZXkVW5E3ollRZL1ICUWAjZdz3zbSzoib7OEo0MqbK0aAiwGEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.dshttps://www.acrf.com.au/https://www.bcna.org.au/about-us/breast-cancer-organisations/Follow the podcast - and get in touch with Shaunhttps://www.excusemeihavesomethingtosay.com/https://www.instagram.com/excuseme_pod/Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/excuse-me-i-have-something-to-say.
