POPULARITY
There are very few artists who can claim popularity in one decade, then claim it all over again with a new band or approach to music. In Australia in the 1970s, Joe Camilleri was a huge draw with his band Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons. They created a blend of R&B and reggae that worked well, and were a big draw in Australian pubs and concert venues. After the demise of the Falcons, Camilleri started a new band called The Black Sorrows that started life as a Zydeco outfit, then evolved into a blend of Americana, soul and a touch of Van Morrison inspired songs. …..this episode isn't about Joe Camilleri..... Welcome to Episode 193 of Love That Album. The drummer for most of The Black Sorrows' first era was Peter “Lucky” Luscombe. He's known as the songwriter's drummer, because rather than trying to show off his chops, he always thinks, “How can I make this song sound great?” He's worked for decades as both a band member and as a session musician. Nowadays, he's most known for playing in Paul Kelly's band (3 decades and counting) and as the longest member of the Rockwiz Orkestra. If you hear his playing, you KNOW it's Lucky. He's also played for Stephen Cummings, Chris Wilson's band of the 90s post Crown Of Thorns, and Rebecca's Empire. I was thrilled to have one of my drumming heroes on the show as we discuss his career, how he approaches a drum part, what he loves about great songwriting, why Australian session musicians are behind the rest of the world in terms of remuneration for their work, why The Meters and Tower of Power are hugely important.....and much more. My thanks to Lucky for joining me on the show, and to Brian Nankervis for encouraging me to reach out to him for a chat. Most Bitcoin scaling projects pick a lane. Arkade refuses to. In this conversation, Ark Labs' Andrew "Kukks" Camilleri explains why Arkade is a general-purpose off-chain environment where you can express your own unlocking scripts — multisig, hash-lock contracts, and more — without opinionated rails like built-in Lightning. He and Shinobi unpack the cosigner trust model, trusted execution environments, and how users can self-deploy signers to remove the possibility of incorrect execution.Grab your copy THE 2036 ISSUE

"Our Hero, Balthazar" is an American dark comedy-drama film directed and produced by Oscar Boyson in his directorial debut, from a screenplay by Boyson and Ricky Camilleri. It stars Jaeden Martell, Asa Butterfield, Chris Bauer, Jennifer Ehle, Anna Baryshnikov, Noah Centineo, Becky Ann Baker, Avan Jogia, and Pippa Knowles. It tells the story of a wealthy teenager who tries to gain his crush's attention by posting videos pleading for stricter gun laws. As an online troll begins mocking his videos, he becomes convinced the troll is a mass shooter, and travels to Texas to confront him. It had its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival, where it received positive reviews for its performances, direction, and writing. Martell, Butterfield, Boyson, and Camilleri were all kind enough to spend some time speaking with us about their work and experiences on the film, which you can listen to below. The conversation also introduces the Fraternity's first-ever Bracket Challenge, a March Madness–style fundraising competition where chapters will go head-to-head to raise support for their Chapter Educational Funds. Dan returns for round two, and this one goes deep. In this episode, we unpack intrinsic motivation in dogs—from prey drive to play drive—and how those drives differ, overlap, and actually show up in real-world training. Not theory for theory's sake, but how these concepts matter when you're working dogs day in, day out. Dan shares lessons learned from years of working dogs, alongside his experience with reactivity in pet dogs. Watching dogs work provides perspective—how dogs think, act, and learn—and that perspective is often missing when people rely solely on what they see online. We also talk context. Techniques, clips, and hot takes on social media mean nothing without experience behind them. Keeping an open mind is easy to say, harder to do—especially when exposure is limited. A strong episode to kick off the year and a big thanks to Dan for joining us again. L'argomento grammaticale di oggi è Pronomi personali with Emphatic and Idiomatic Pronominal Verbs.
In this episode, we speak to Joe Camilleri. The singer, songwriter and sax man is perhaps best known as the one constant in Australian rootsy blues rock band The Black Sorrows, a group that was born more than 40 years ago. The 77 year old musician, however, has been recording and touring for more than six decades, and created more than 50 albums. That includes his latest - The Quintessential Black Sorrows - a compilation of remastered hits from the legendary front man, being released on October 24. Camilleri is currently on a national tour with the ever-evolving band, but took time out to join Good Weekend deputy editor Konrad Marshall in the studio for a chat about life, love, and music.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Timestamp to skip the chat: (4:38) Tamika Chesser is a former reality star, best known for her appearance on ‘Beauty and The Geek.' Over the past few years, Tamika's family have said that she was struggling with her mental health. In June 2025, police were called to the home that Tamika shared with her partner, Julian Story, following reports of a fire. When they entered the property, some of Julian's remains were found in the bathroom. His head was missing. Tamika was said to be in a catatonic state when she was taken into custody. Julian's head was located in scrub by a man walking his dog in late July 2025. In July 2019, Jessica Camilleri was living with her mother Rita in Sydney, Australia. Jessica had a life-long history of mental illness. In the weeks prior to the murder, Jessica had decided to stop taking her medication and was opting to seek out natural alternatives. On the day of July 20, 2019, tensions between Jessica and Rita escalated. Rita lost control of her daughter and threatened to call authorities to have her taken to a facility. This enraged Jessica and she ended up stabbing her mother over 100 times. Jessica then decapitated her mother and carried the head down the street. When Jessica was arrested, she asked police "Can I ask, is my mum dead? Don't think I'm insane, but you can't bring her back to life?"

Today, we continue our conversation with Dr. Michael Camilleri, one of the world's leading experts on leaky gut, to separate fact from fiction on one of the most talked-about (and misunderstood) health topics on the internet. We get into whether leaky gut is actually the root cause of chronic diseases like depression and autoimmune conditions, whether you can test for it at home, and why some doctors still call it a “hypothetical condition.” Dr. Camilleri also breaks down the real science behind bone broth, collagen, and gut health, what stress actually does to your gut lining (yes, marathoners, we're looking at you), and why expensive supplements might not be the answer. In this episode, we tackle one of the buzziest—and most confusing—topics in gut health: leaky gut. Juna's dad has been asking about it nonstop, so we brought in one of the world's leading experts, Dr. Michael Camilleri from the Mayo Clinic, to break it all down. What exactly is leaky gut? Is it real, how do you know if you have it, and can it actually cause brain fog or autoimmune disease? Dr. Camilleri gives us the real science on gut barriers, how food and medication affect them, and what you can do to support your gut health (spoiler: fiber wins again). If you've ever wondered whether your bloating or brain fog has anything to do with your gut—or you just want to stop your dad from sending you wellness TikToks—this episode is for you.Sign up for our newsletter here! For weekly episodes, come join the Foodie Fam!Check out our book!Chat with us on IG @foodweneedtotalk!Be friends with Juna on Instagram and Tiktok!
