Season 5 conversations kicked off today with Episode 2. My special guest Amrish Dias, a trilingual Mortgage Expert and industry veteran came to my show today so we can get to know one another more than just doing business together. On the business end, I'm the Real Estate Agent, and Amrish Dias is my business referral partner representing Cardinal Financial Company. On the personal end, him and I are both fathers, lovers, New Yorkers, Long Islander, and in our less than 40 minutes of conversation we talked so much. Originally I was going to have a much longer conversation but due to technical difficulties we were forced to cut our conversation shorter. Nevertheless we've overcame challenges and we pivoted and refocused our energy to bring you today another excellent Podcast conversation. I value your time to listen to our stories. Thank you my audience for being the big part of my Podcast Experience. If you have questions, or seeking mortgage related financial services, you may contact Amrish Dias. This was my first podcast recorded while going Livestream on Instagram. I was flowing so well in my self-talks I actually went over the first 30 minutes segment without knowing the recording ended. This explains the gap you will hear but as always I improvised beautifully. In this episodes I spoke about my own personal journey integrating my work into my life and how things are intricately intertwined while maintaining harmony. I used this segment to address some Real Estate Market updates as well as sharing prospect strategy and tips. Thank you for your continuing participation and support toward my platform. As always I welcome guests to come to my show and our topics don't have to limit to just Tourette's, Mental Health, and Real Estate.
First of all, there was a little bit of technical difficulties and I was muted the first 30seconds. In this 1 hour self podcasting episode which was recorded LIVE on my FABULOUSLY_TOURETTE Instagram I made update toward my now 4 month of Real Estate Agency journey and I shared my own personal evaluation, strategies, and outlook. I talked about my recent opportunity of doing some part-time work in my past career Ocean Import Freight Forwarding operations and how this experience enlightened me and boosted my confidence. I will be turning 44 soon by middle of this month of April. I am proud of my own personal and professional progress. I will keep up the good work. Thank you for listening.

2 weeks after our initial conversation, Brooklyn based visual artist Elton Leonard returned for another episode. We started off episode 53 by talking about Martial Arts since Elton was a practitioner and I have been a long time enthusiast. We spoke about the importance of communication and how misunderstandings in our diverse city can spark into long time race tensions. We also discussed importance of mental health awareness and I invited Elton to be part of my future episodes because talks like this bring healing to both of us. Thank you for your listening and supports.

Kicking off 2024 February Black History Month I am bringing you a fresh episode with fresh content on the 1st of February. I feel like time has been compressed over the past 4 years. While writing this episode description I realize I have a hard time retracing the past 4 years. Everything seemed like yesterday, yet 4 years have passed. But I also feel like 10 years have passed in the period of 4. Pandemic started January 2020 and so did the jumpstart of the COVID era Anti Asian hate crimes. Then May 25th 2020, George Floyd's brutal death and another direct reflection of an ongoing epidemic systematic racial injustice and brutality in this country. A 3 year long wave of BLM protests started. My partner was also assaulted because of COVID FEAR. My friend, Steve Lee AKA #AsianSerpico was running for office and it was around that time I met Elton through Facebook since he and Steve had a past together. One of my initial conversations with Elton on the phone in 2020 was about race, equality, freedom, and misunderstandings. He confronted me with a question regarding how African immigrants were treated in China because at the time the SINO/US relation was already sour thanks to the Trump Trade War then COVID. As always I took my time and I thoroughly explained to Elton regarding my perspective on the situation. I spent time to explain China's history so I can frame my perspective and distinguish between facts and opinions. I felt Elton was pleasantly taken back my passionate speech to not only answer his question but I took my time to help him understand more. And my intention of this episode was to kick off a series of future stories surrounding the conversation between me, a naturalized American of Chinese descent and a Black Artist born in a historical civil rights neighborhood in NYC of an African American mother and Black immigrant father. And how we differ yet relate so much. At the end of the episode you will hear how the energy of our conversation changed from the beginning to the end. At one point, Elton expressed the importance of creating this link between the Asian and the Black communities in America and how much he appreciates the planning of future conversations like this. I totally didn't want this episode to be another generic artist interview type of podcast where cliche questions were asked. But this episode really flowed like a conversation. I hope to engage in future podcast in this format. And look at how am I writing this episode intro. I am really enjoying this. Elton Leonard is Brooklyn Based Artist, Illustrator, Art Teacher, Graphic Designer Learn more at: https://linktr.ee/thepeoplesartist.ny?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=bcbcfa51-1ffd-4c87-8c36-4d38af6b3357

In this episode I talked a great deal about the damaging effects of "self sabotaging" and I shared exciting life updates. It's been little more than a week since I signed with the broker that I want to partner with, Home Smart Premier Living Realty and I feel like I am already a month into the journey because so much has happened and so fast. But none of this can be achieved if I took the route of self sabotaging. My name is Peter Zhao, I am a licensed NY real state agent thanks for listening and I appreciate your supports. The drive to dinner felt surreal. From my passenger seats I saw the taillights of a fancy car. I wanted to dream big and imagine that I could also drive that car but I felt it's too early to dream big and I tried to vanquish this dream then it dawned on me. I started to tremble, tears poured out of my eyes and streamed down my cheeks in strange ways. I'm used to tears flowing down my jaws but this time they were flowing towards my earlobes. I wasn't frowning but I was smiling and pouring tears of joy. Getting this Realtor license meant tremendous, and I don't mean making the money. It helped me finally closed certain childhood wounds. My mother has long fed into me with the idea that I should do real estate. I helped her during a few open houses when I was still in Highschool. But the mother and son relationship is deeper than the oceans and I rebelled against her dreams and never pursuited RE. I was on a very strong antipsychotic medicine for 8 years to suppress tics from Tourette's syndrome. I took the med from age 12 to 20. The med stopped some tics but also created many new tics. Also the med carried hefty psychological side effects like hallucination and depression, by the time I was in college the med was pushing me to kill myself but I was also so depended on it. I stopped the meds but I was already messed up. All these years I unconsciously suppressed myself, sabotaged opportunities, and killed many dreams. Recently the lie I was holding can no longer hold the weight of the world. My fantasy is caving on me and just earlier today I felt like I was in another downward spiral. I tried this RE license 3 times. I dropped out of the online courses but I wanted to prove to my family that in-person class works. I cried to the sky and thought about the prayers I made at mom's colorful autumn resting place. Nobody in my house ever reminded me to study more but I seems to always feel I haven't studied enough. Many believed in me but I was unable to see myself clearly. To be able to pass both exams all on the first try was beyond my wildest imagination but I did it. Ever since those days of cramming for SAT preparations while managing my tics, ADHD OCD and the horrible hallucinations from the medication yet unable to break 1000, not even once traumatized me. Ever since then I often draw myself the conclusion that I will never be able to pass a test because I have learning disability. My dad thinks I lack persistence and resiliency but I remind him that every week I pull myself out of the deepest depressive quicksand and continue to push forward. This is huge accomplishment for me. This feels like a total catharsis, spiritual cleansing. I feel the healing. My kids said they've never seen daddy this happy before. For very long time I was highly fearful of the question about my 5 years plan. Suddenly I can now see light at end of the tunnel. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fabulously-tourette/support
Revenge of the summer is the main theme of this labor weekend because the heatwave bites back. During this holiday weekend I've had the pleasure of carrying out another interesting conversation with my guest, Shae. Like many of my guests on my show, I also met Shae through Facebook, from the mutual Tourette's syndrome support groups. She is a mom who resides in Tennessee. Her and I share common experiences and challenges with Tourette's syndrome, ADHD, OCD, and in this episode you will hear about other challenges Shae has to work with going through the days dealing with symptoms of Dystonia. In this one hour and half episode we covered a lot of topics surrounding the tics, the seizures, as well as parenting, work life, aspirations, spirituality, and more. Thank you for tuning in. In a span of little more than a year, FabulouslyTouretteRadio has evolved from self podcasting, venting, mind organizing to interviewing and conversing with guests and engaging in topics revolving around the mission of this podcast, share experience and advocate awareness in Tourette's syndrome and mental health. And this episode not only marks the start of a new season, but season 4 marks a new beginning for this podcast as I am expanding to conversations beyond just Tourette's and mental health. In this episode I have had the great pleasure of engaging in deep conversation with my guest Jillian McMillian who is a New Yorker, a mom of many stories, a mental health survivor, and she also volunteers at an organization called Mydogismyhome.org where she passionately wholeheartedly support the homeless population and the pets of their homeless human companions. In this episode you will hear about the PUPP Act, you will hear about my guest's own experience dealing with homelessness while raising a family and recovering from traumas. This is a powerful episode of engaging dialogues of real people sharing their vulnerability, struggles, and their hopes of a better future. Wow time flies. We are already at Episode 10 of Season 3. I'm proud to announce this is the final episode of this season. And a new season begins soon with new guests already lined up. I'm taking this podcast to beyond just Tourette's syndrome and mental health awareness. This podcast is evolving! I met a lot of great people online ever since the AOL days. And on social media like Facebook, I've met a lot of friends through our mutual experience living with Tourettes. One of them is George #TwitchBeard from Arizona. Although I knew him for a few years now online but through this episode him and I have discovered a lot more common interests than just our shared experience in living with Tourettes as a dad or coping with mental health and managing anxiety at work. I've had a rough night prior to this conversation and I nearly cancelled the date. But I'm glad I pushed through in the best display of my improvisational podcasting style. In Episode 9 of Season 3, I've had the pleasure of sitting down and having a conversation with Emma. She also goes by her social media alias, "Life's a Twitch" #LifesaTwitchEmma #lifesatwitch In a little over one hour of time, we learned so much more about each other, and we laughed over similar feelings and experiences toward our lives with Tourettes's syndrome and commodities. Emma shared her life journey with me, and we talked about future aspirations. She shared some tips about how to advocate TS on social media and how to handle negative attention. I talked about some important topics in the TS world, like the subject matter of "faking tics." Overall, this was another fun packed episode full of stories for the listeners to enjoy. This is a fun episode with engaging topics lasting almost 1 hour and 30 minutes. Matthew and I are Facebook friends, and despite him and I are similar age, and we both have Tourette's Syndrome and comorbidities ADHD and OCD but we don't know enough about each other On this exciting episode, Matthew and I got to learn more about each other. I learned about his lifetime challenges managing coprolalia. Don't judge a book by the cover. Behind the visible motor tics and the head turning involuntary obscenities is a caring man full of wits and compassion, and he is philosophical. Matthew shared his thoughts on the education systems, and we went back in time and shared our stories about our childhood. Matthew shared some value insights about dealing with bullies. During this episode you may encounter topics relating to SA, SI, and medication experience, trigger warning is advised. Through my own mental health awareness advocacy campaign on social media I befriended Author Musician and Mental Health Advocate Peter Vox who is the author of his book, "The Psych Ward Notes - Surviving Anxiety and Depression". The book is in both reading and listening format and can be found on Amazon, Kindle and most Audio-books like SCRIBD. I first learned about this book several months ago when I was still in the recovery stage in my own disability leave of absence. I didn't want to read this book because of 2 primary reasons. One, is because I was afraid the content of this book might trigger me. And two I didn't think I was severe enough to worry about getting admitted into a Psych Ward. However things have gotten worse for me and about a month ago I had a really bad panic attack at work which until now I haven't gone back to work. I was on a Panic Attack watch for 3 weeks and everyday I encounter chances where I might end up in the hospital or worse, a Psych Ward. The type of anxieties I felt was disabling and I was losing my mind. Before I interviewed Peter I also downloaded an Audio-book version of his book from the App ScribD. The app used an AI generated voice of the author and it sounded really good. Quickly I breezed through the chapters with laughter and tears. Peter is a very talented writer in my opinion and the way he describes things, his analogy and metaphor were so cleverly constructed. He felt so real to me hence this is a PROFOUND interview with TREMENDOUSLY valuable content to give the reader new insight, knowledge, and reflections. Peter is diagnosed with General Anxiety and Depression. He has struggled with SI and had history of SA. My name is Peter too and I am diagnosed Tourette's Syndrome, ADHD, OCD, and Bipolar 2. I feel this book is more than just mental health but it's life itself. Our life in this modern world strives to connect faster and bigger and we fall harder in a way we are living in a Bipolar world and for us Neurodivergent life can be challenging to navigate. This book is a compilation of handwritten journals Peter has written when he was inside the Psych Ward. In this book the reader gets to see through his lenses and put us into his shoes. We walk with him throughout the psych ward floor and we get to know other inhabitants of the institution. I am also a father who struggles with mental health conditions and walking on this path together with my family and my sons. In my opinion this is one of my best podcasts by far. The author and I shared great chemistry, this was a very natural conversation. This is a 2 parts recording. When I did this podcast back on 3/30/2022 I was at a very low point in my mental health. In the first part you will hear my RAW EMOTIONS and I will share with you why I feel the medication I am taking have taken away part of my identity. Because of family emergency I had to cut short of my recording then 2 days later on 4/1/2022 I wrapped up the recording in a different mentality because by today my mood is approaching a controlled Hypo-mania and I want you to hear the difference in my voice. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/fabulously-tourette/support
