First Sunday of Advent, 2013, and we are examining the story of Mary and Elizabeth and their discovery of their God ordained pregnancies and our need to see in that a call to be ready for the coming of Jesus.

God makes it clear that He loves EVERYONE and wants to be in relationship with all people. We as Christ followers must facilitate that by reaching out to our neighbor, family, friend and even strangers.

Today, we start Esther: God’s Perfect Work through Imperfect People.
Each time we memorize, pray, sing, review, or study the gospel, we must ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes and bring the gospel alive to us again. He’s quick to hear and faithful to answer. But His help must be actively sought.
We are called to love as Christ loved, serve as Christ served and to have compassion as Christ had compassion. Do this and the world around us will begin to change for God’s glory.
The cross of Christ is not only the basis of our peace and hope—but it is the means of our eternal salvation. The goal of the cross is not only a full and free pardon, but a changed life lived in fellowship with God.
