This Sunday we resume our sermon series called “Dinner With Jesus.” We'll study one of Jesus' most famous meals – the meal where he fed 5,000 people! – and draw three critical life lessons from what he said and did at that meal.
Throughout our day-to-day lives, God always extends an invitation to see Him work around us and within us. In this message, Pastor Jason Ballard walks us through three powerful invitations from Jesus. First, we discuss how Jesus calls His followers to rest, drawing from His practices of withdrawing to quiet places. Next, we examine how Jesus involves His disciples in His ministry, emphasizing our role in God's work today. Finally, we reflect on Jesus as the Good Shepherd, who cares deeply for His flock and lays down His life for them. Listen in and discover how these timeless truths can transform your spiritual journey.Support the Show.

If there's one thing we've learned in this Mark study, it's that Jesus does weird things. The disciples had a crisis on their hands, and they couldn't even imagine what Jesus was about to do next. Sometimes it is good for us to not just ask "what" does Jesus do, but "why" does he do the weird thing?
Join Julia Jeffress Sadler as she takes us on an incredible adventure in Episode 163. Jesus fed a huge crowd of more than 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish, and there were even leftovers after everyone was full. Later, during a storm, Jesus walked on water to His disciples' boat, and Peter tried to walk towards Him but started sinking; Jesus saved him and calmed the storm. The amazed disciples recognized Jesus as God's Son and worshipped Him for His miraculous acts. Did you eat your fill on Thanksgiving -- and then some? This Sunday we will examine the Gospel passage where Jesus fed 5,000. The text tells us that the people ate their fill, with leftovers to boot. We'll compare Jesus' attitude toward the hungry crowds to the attitude of his disciples and, in the process, learn important lessons about who Jesus is calling us to be and how Jesus wants us to conduct ourselves in this world.
10/8/23 - John writes of another convincing work of Jesus, feeding 5000 men, plus women and children, with only five loaves and two fishes.
In this sermon, based on Matthew 14:13-21, Pastor Scott explores Jesus' miracle of feeding the 5000, featuring both the disciples both receiving and participating in the miracle. This is the assigned gospel text for Sunday August 6th, the 10th Sunday after Pentecost.
MARK 6:30-44 | Jesus Feeds 5000 | Pastor Neil Spencer
One of the main themes of The Gospel of John - and one of the things Jesus is most famous for are his miracles and signs. The Gospel of John details miracles Jesus accomplished among people and outlines what they mean and point to.In the Gospel of John chapter 5, Jesus does a strange miracle of multiplying bread for a crowd. What unfolds from there is a deep and divisive teaching about how people miss the revelation of who Jesus is because they are focusing on the wrong thing - the miracle, not the miracle giver. Jesus' bread multiplication miracle has far more to do with our spiritual needs than our physical ones!Like, subscribe, and leave us a comment.Support what Sandals Church is doing at https://donate.sc or use the Sandals Church App https://sandalschurch.com/app/Do you have questions, need prayer or want to get connected? On Sunday we are preaching through Luke 9:10-17 where Jesus takes a little bread and a little fish and turns it into a LOT of bread and a LOT of fish, and 5,000 people eat to their fill and then have leftovers. What is happening here? Does Jesus have a magic wand or is this something else? How do 5 loaves and 2 fish feed 5,000 or more people? What is the point of this?On Sunday we get to feast on this miracle text and ponder the wonders of Jesus.
The people tried to make Jesus a worldly king… and he withdrew. But when they came to arrest and kill him… he didn't. He wants to be King of your life, if you will receive him!
God can fill baskets full of leftovers with whatever offerings you bring to him. You don't have to bring much… but give him your time, your talents, your resources… and see what how he multiplies it to bless many!
Jesus pauses to pray over his food. What an example for us! Pause, reflect on God's goodness, and give thanks when you enjoy God's blessings… and don't forget to share your blessings with others.
When Jesus tested Philip, it wasn't to shame him, but to help him grow. How might Jesus be "testing" you, for your growth, right now?
Many people followed Jesus for the thrill of seeing him do cool things, but left when he taught hard truths. Don't make the same mistake!
Were all so hungry! Learn about an amazing miracle Jesus did that fed everyone but not only that... they all had leftovers. Follow along Matthew 14:13-21Memory Verse: Matthew 19:26
Jesus' miracles correlate with the truths He wanted to convey about Himself to a watching world. Immediately before Jesus taught that He was the “Bread of Life,” He miraculously provided for a need which the people were unable to meet themselves. In this episode you will hear about this miracle and the truth it conveys about Jesus.(Passages discussed include: John 6:1-15, Mark 6:30-34, Isaiah 40:11, Exodus 16, John 2:1-11 Deuteronomy 18, Malachi 4:5, John 6:26-27, 35, 41-42) For more information about the Everything Jesus podcast, go to ej.visitccc.com. Sermons at Park Avenue Church of Christ
Starting at chapter one, in verse six of the book of john. It says, After this, Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias, and a large crowd was following him because they saw the signs that he was doing on the sick. Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews was at hand, lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming towards him, Jesus said, to fill up, where are we to buy bread so that these people may eat? Now he said this to test him, for he knew himself what he would do, Philip answered, 200, denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon, Peter's brother said to him, there's a boy here, who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many? Jesus said, Have the people sit down, now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down about 5000, and number, Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated, so also the fish as much as they wanted. And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples gather up the leftover fragments that nothing may be lost. S o they gathered them up, filled 12 baskets, with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, this is indeed the prophet who has come into the world, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by forced to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself. One of the things I want to encourage you with is that Jesus certainly cares about our spiritual being. But in this case, he was the one that mentioned, how are we going to feed all these people? Now he even says here that he knew what the answer was. But he said that to His disciples, just to kind of get them to think and to realize what was about to happen. One of the things I want to share is that we know, Jesus cares about our spiritual needs. Another thing I want to point out here is that Jesus is more powerful regardless of the situation that you're in. I just want to remind you, regardless of where you're at, regardless of what you're going through, God is bigger than our problems, focus on him. And he will see us through. And finally, along those same lines, I just want to say if we stay close to Jesus, we know he'll care for us. Friends, I want to encourage you, wherever you're at today, we have people listening to this podcast from all over the world. And each of us live in different cultures in different situations and circumstances. But I want to tell you, hold on to Jesus. If you don't know Jesus as your Savior, I would encourage you find a Bible to find a Bible believing church and talk to someone. Read through the book of John, you'll see how much Jesus loves you how much God cares for you. And as you begin to focus on him, the things of this world will see much smaller, and you'll find that God does provide I want to thank you for listening today. I want to encourage you to subscribe if you're not already. I also want to encourage you to go to our social media, leave a comment or suggestion. If you have a prayer request and we can pray for you. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly at Mike@BehindTheMike.net . I would be honored to lift you up in prayer. And, again, thank you for joining us this week. Remember if your life is grounded in Jesus, even in the darkest times, there is hope

May this miraculous story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 give your heart rest, reminding you that God is your provider and shepherd of your soul.
Matthew 14:13-21
Aside from the events of Holy Week (the Resurrection in particular), the Miracle of feeding 5000 people is the only other miracle that is documented in all four Gospels! So it's kinda of a Big Deal! In these unprecedented times, how much do we trust Jesus that He will provide for all our needs? In whatever difficulty we have, how much do we trust Him that he has already provided a way out? Food for thought.

Movement is life. If we stop growing we stop being all that God created us to be and it can and will lead to death. Maturity is a choice. Choose to take the next step even when it only seams like you only have a little to offer. Give what you have and let God multiple it so that it will become a God impacted outcomes. #wearethegrove
