Shanti Das joined Checka to share her story and struggles with mental illness and how it eventually propelled her into starting her own non profit, called Silence the Shame! Silence the Shame is an organization made to empower and educate communities on mental health and wellness. Shanti Das, the founder and owner of Silence the Shame worked many years in the music business working with many Atlanta artists like TLC, Usher, Toni Braxton and other major players in the hip hop business. Once Shanti realized her purpose was more than pushing records for recording artists, she slowly began to accept her mission. Shanti Das has since grown her non profit into a major organization. Receiving recognition from AJC to NBC and even awarded with a check as the Culture Catalyst on Dick Clark New Year's Rockin' Eve by Ryan Seacrest in 2023! She's published a book called "Silencing MY Shame" and even has started her own podcast called mibo, promoting mental health through mind and body.
