We will have 2 amazing guests for Today! Let's Meet Tena Lundquist Faust and Shannon Von Eiff! Shannon is a tireless advocate for homeless cats and kittens in the Houston area. In the last 4 years, she and her team of fosters have been responsible for transporting or finding homes for over 1,000 cats and kittens in and around Houston. She began working as a veterinary technician at a private practice where she unexpectedly found herself navigating the world of tiny bottle kittens when a litter of 4, 5 day old kittens were abandoned at the clinic. Having been a “dog person” all of her life, she was determined to help those kittens survive and thus began her journey into educating herself as to all of the nuances of neonatal kittens. Those kittens actually never left the Von Eiff household and shared the home of Shannon and veterinarian husband, Dr. Garnett Von Eiff for the next 19 + years. It also spurred her into the role of adoption coordinator for homeless creatures through the veterinary practice. The Von Eiff family shares their home with 4 dogs, 3 cats and multiple foster animals. Tena Lundquist Faust's commitment to homeless animals stretches back more than 15 years, to when she first began advocating for animals in 2003. Tena went on to cofound the Highland Village Adoption Center, and then served as a founding member of Houston's BARC Foundation. Since then, Tena has devoted her time to serving as a full-time, volunteer Co-President of Houston PetSet alongside her twin sister, Tama Lundquist. When Tena isn't working to save Houston's stray dogs and cats, she and her husband spend time with their Hurricane Harvey rescue dog, Finnegan and his new brother, Benjamin. Tena's passion for animals was sparked by her love of her Westie dog of 17 years, Taz.

CAT-Tober , Cat Take Over with The Wolfkeeper and Kim Freeman Get to know more about our Amazing guest! Kim Freeman, LostCatFinder.com As a full-time lost cat tracker, Kim Freeman has 8 years of practice finding missing cats --and the dirt under her nails to prove it. Combining missing persons profiling with animal tracking, bird language, and the science of lost cat behavior, she's been deemed the world expert in lost cat recovery, solving cases in 48 states and 17 countries. Her mission is getting cats found before they die or end up in shelters, and she's created a video on how to do it. Because cats need special techniques tailored to feline psychology, Freeman created a search guide to teach humans new, better ways to recover lost cats. A big part of that is dispelling the many myths and old wives' tales that harm more than help. When Freeman gets a call to come search for an escaped indoor kitty, she straps on the knee pads and loads up her search partner Henry, the first cat ever trained to scent track lost cats. In order to keep up with Henry during a case, Freeman developed a lighted cat collar with a Kitty camera so she can keep up with Henry's search in the dark and see what he saw. Freeman and Henry can be found at their website, www.LostCatFinder.com and seen in action on their Youtube and Facebook pages. The Wolfkeeper Show is a live Podcast! Let's learn more about Karen! Karen Shinevar is co-founder and President of CPAW NJ, a nonprofit group located in northern NJ with the mission of saving lives through trap, neuter, vaccinate, return (TNRV) and surrender prevention. A retired general counsel and public policy advocate, Karen grew up on a farm in southern Michigan and is a lifelong animal lover. She received her JD from University of Michigan Law School and worked as in house counsel for almost two decades. After volunteering at her local shelter for three years, she realized that there had to be more that could be done to save the lives of cats than the few spaces available in any shelter. After researching and talking with animal welfare experts, she helped found Communities Promoting Animal Welfare (NJ) to help educate the general public about outdoor cats living in our communities and how we can help them. She believes that TNVR is more important than ever now that COVID has closed shelters or reduced their capacity. It is time for the community to become the shelter and through CPAW NJ she loves helping local groups start their own tnvr groups or just teaching someone how to help the outdoor cat they are feeding. Since a high percentage of kittens born outside don't make it, TNVR not only helps outdoor cats become better neighbors but it also saves literally thousands of lives. Karen has two sons who live in MI and MA, a grandcat, and six rescue cats of her own.

Get to know more about Cat Furniture and where to get them! Darryl Michaelson has always had an issue with cat furniture. The pet industry has never done it right. It's always cheap, not very sturdy and never made with the cat's comfort and usage in mind. It's the merchandise you see online and in big box pet stores. He knew the only way to fix it was to build his own. In 1991, the Minneapolis, Minn. native started Purrniture at the age of 24 during the Minnesota State Fair. It started as a hobby in his basement the year before, when he couldn't find sturdy cat furniture for his two new kittens

Sterling “Trapking” Davis From Rapper to Trapper: you don't lose cool points for compassion Sterling “TrapKing” Davis is a well-traveled, ex-military, music and cat enthusiast who has always loved entertaining and interacting with people. Since childhood, he was also the only guy in his neighborhood that loved cats. One day, while taking a break from the rap group he was performing with, Sterling saw a posting for a job cleaning litter boxes at his local shelter. He needed something to do to pass the time so he applied for the job. He started cleaning litter boxes and loved working with cats so much, he was promoted to an outreach position where he could focus on trap-neuter-return (TNR), the only way to humanely control cat overpopulation. It was at that point he decided to give up his successful music career and focus on his passion for cats. In 2017, he started his own nonprofit, Trapking Humane Cat Solutions, where he focuses on educating, assisting, and doing TNR and community cat management. Davis' mission is to change the stereotypes of not only men in cat rescue, but also bridge the gap in communication between black communities and predominantly white animal welfare organizations. He lives and breathes his motto, you don't lose cool points for compassion. Today Davis is a sought-after speaker all over the world, speaking at events like Cat Con, Cat Camp, Meow DC and fundraising events for small rescues and shelters across the United States. Sterling hopes to one day travel the country in a recreational vehicle, teaching animal advocates in communities of all sizes how to care for their community cats.
