Every time Eisner and Ringo Nominated Steve Foxe comes on the show to chat with me, I'm blown away by just how many projects he's dropping. In this episode, we're covering three of them primarily. He's living the dream getting to write an Alien mini-series with Paradiso, there's the inaugural release of the new True Weird line of books from Dark Horse Comics and James Tynion's Tiny Onion focused on the myth of the Jersey Devil called Let This One Be A Devil, and spinning out of the Spider-Woman series is the New Champions, a wild concept where he was able to put together a new team of heroes based on twenty-two variant covers that dropped a year or so ago inspired by Marvel icons that were reimagined for the next generation. The only way to keep track of it all is to sign up for his newsletter. Alien Paradiso - Dec 11, 2024 WELCOME TO PARADISO! Welcome to Paradiso, where the money flows like blood and the blood flows like acid! The Tulum of space, Paradiso is a hidden gem among the colonies with its tropical climate, white sand beaches and a remarkable population of hyper-wealthy criminals. When Colonial Marshals Dash Nanda and Lydia Reeves are sent there to bust a smuggling ring, they think they've hit the job-assignment jackpot. But the only ones getting lucky here are those HUNGRY enough to take what they need. Steve Foxe, Edgar Salazar and guest contributor Peter Nguyen shine neon lights on the horrors of the Alien franchise with a bold story of the gambles we must take to survive! New Champions - Jan 8, 2025 WHO ARE THE NEW CHAMPIONS? What do four kids whose lives were derailed by Hydra, Scarlet Witch's mysterious protégé, a cursed roller derby jammer and a Wakandan runaway have in common? Not much! But when Hellrune's mysterious powers activate to bring them together, they'll have to learn how to work as a team quickly - or face the wrath of the Cult of Hela! Steve Foxe and Ivan Fiorelli (TIMESLIDE) team up to introduce the next generation of Marvel Heroes! Let This One Be A Devil - Feb 2025 In the early 1900s, Henry Naughton returns home to the family farm in the swampy Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey. One night, he encounters a strange predator stalking the woods. This sends the young scholar on a research project that uncovers the legend of Mother Leeds and the terrible birth of the JERSEY DEVIL in 1735. James Tynion IV (BLUE BOOK, Something is Killing the Children) and Steve Foxe (Dark X-Men, All Eight Eyes along with Piotr Kowalski (Bloodborne, Where Monsters Lie) bring the Jersey Devil to life in a supernatural tale of horror that peels back unknown layers of history and reveals local monsters and universal terrors. I really go into all the festivities of Father's Day weekend here. I mean, it gave more than any one thing should give. I'm so fortunate to have such a lovely family. So, here's the latest pics. I know I go on about this turntable a bit too. I'm excited about it. If you can put your hands on one for cheap and don't mind spending a little to get it running properly (like maybe $40 - $65), it's a nice device. Simple to use as well. Here's some basic info. on it. All Eight Eyes is the spider comic I discuss. Here's some info. about it. https://www.comicsbeat.com/steve-foxe-piotr-kowalski-all-eight-eyes-dark-horse-announced/ Alrighty kids. Enjoy the crazy snake video in the pics link too. Wild! Like spiders? What, you don't? If you are ready for a good ol' fashioned creature feature, I'm chatting with Steve Foxe about his new giant arachnid focused mini-series, All Eight Eyes, from Dark Horse Comics on today's episode of the Cryptid Creator Corner. Steve has been super busy as an editor working on the Department of Truth with collaborator James Tyrion IV and together they co-created the horror anthology series Razorblades which is the origin for All Eight Eyes. We also get a chance to catch up on his Marvel projects launching the new queer hero Webweaver (more spiders) and writing a Firestar story for the X-Men Annual. It's always a pleasure to get to hang out with Steve, now on his third visit to our little show. Give it a listen and make sure to get your pre-orders in for the new project. Is that a real tune, or something written just for Harvey?Themes of sanity are present in Detective Comics, like Two-Face facing his own duality, why do you think these themes resonate with audiences?Two-Face consistently tells Harvey that he's the only one looking out for him, that he cares about him.
