Ghost returns from a brief holiday unplug to break down a rapidly shifting global landscape, beginning with President Trump's renewed push on Greenland and Denmark's escalating backlash. The episode traces how Arctic security, rare earth minerals, and Trump's appointment of Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as special envoy fit into a broader realignment involving the U.S., Russia, and China. Ghost then examines growing fractures inside NATO and the EU, warning signs of Europe preparing for war, and newly released records revealing Putin's early warnings to George W. Bush about NATO expansion and Ukraine. The discussion expands into Africa's rejection of Western influence, emerging multipolar alliances, and how capital is flowing away from traditional power centers. Ghost closes with analysis of crypto mining at nuclear facilities, Middle East investment dynamics, and why global power structures are undergoing irreversible change.

CannCon and Zak Paine open the week by examining a series of violent incidents and breaking stories that appear disconnected on the surface but reveal deeper narrative manipulation when viewed together. They walk through the attack at Brown University and the Bondi Beach stabbing in Australia, questioning media framing, missing details, and the speed with which political conclusions were pushed. The conversation expands into Ukraine, NATO escalation rhetoric, and Trump's recent statements as Western alliances show signs of strain. CannCon and Zak also break down troubling judicial rulings on immigration-related crimes, DOJ actions tied to election integrity cases, congressional corruption, and the financial machinery surrounding student loans and earmarks. Throughout the episode, the hosts emphasize discernment, timing, and motive, arguing that the “fog of war” now extends beyond battlefields into media, law, and public perception.
Broadcast from KSQD, Santa Cruz on 12-11-2025: Dr. Dawn presents colleague Dr. Paul Godin's essay on why US healthcare fails as a market system . She explains that healthcare violates every assumption of functional markets: patients can't compare options during emergencies, information asymmetry prevents informed decisions, demand is inelastic when one has an urgent medical issue, and trust is essential to medicine and in direct conflict with profit incentives. Since 1988's Knox-Keen Act allowed for-profit healthcare, private equity has acquired and stripped hospitals, while administrative costs consume enormous resources fighting over payments rather than providing care. She contrasts this with European models like Switzerland and Germany where everyone must participate, insurers must accept all patients, and profit on basic coverage is limited. She celebrates a vaccination success story: HPV vaccines have reduced cervical cancer by 50% over 30 years. The American Cancer Society now endorses self-collected vaginal samples for HPV screening, with an FDA-approved at-home kit from Teal Health allowing women to skip speculums and traditional Pap smears. Current guidelines recommend screening starting at age 25, with testing every five years after a negative result. Dr. Dawn issues a health alert about multiple hospitalizations in Santa Cruz County from foraged wild mushrooms identified incorrectly by phone apps. She describes cholinergic toxicity symptoms: sweating, excessive salivation, pinpoint pupils, and abdominal cramping—signs requiring immediate emergency care rather than waiting it out. She offers follow-up vaccine advice: "go in wet, then sweat." Hydrate before vaccination, then take a hot Epsom salt bath until sweat runs off your face. This helps eliminate adjuvants that cause post-vaccine fatigue and aches, which are often misinterpreted as catching illness from the vaccine itself. Dr. Dawn expresses alarm that Kennedy's reconstituted ACIP nearly voted to eliminate hepatitis B vaccination at birth. She notes infants exposed to infected mothers have 99% infection rates, with half becoming chronically infected and half of those developing terminal cirrhosis or cancer. Testing pregnant women misses infections acquired during pregnancy, and 12-16% of delivering women have no test records. Major insurers have committed to covering birth vaccination through 2026 despite the panel's actions. She offers holiday microbiome advice from researcher Karen Corbin: increase fiber intake through steel-cut oats, whole grain breads like Dave's Killer Bread, beans, apples, and alternative pastas made from lentils or garbanzo beans. Cooking potatoes ahead and reheating creates resistant starch that feeds beneficial gut bacteria, reduces inflammation, and even stimulates natural GLP-1 production. Dr. Dawn reviews research proving health insurance saves lives. When the ACA's Medicaid expansion became optional by state, researchers could compare outcomes, finding 8% lower mortality and 19,000 fewer deaths in expansion states over four years. An accidental IRS experiment—sending insurance enrollment letters to only 85% of penalty payers—showed significantly lower mortality among those who subsequently got insured. Studies of gunshot and auto accident victims found uninsured patients died more often despite receiving identical emergency treatment. She concludes with surprising cancer symptoms: chest pain specifically triggered by alcohol consumption may indicate Hodgkin's lymphoma, as vasodilation activates inflammatory chemicals in affected lymph nodes. Fractures from minimal trauma in people without osteoporosis warrant investigation, as 5% of cancers involve bone. Elevated calcium levels double cancer diagnosis risk in the following year and should prompt follow-up testing.

This week offers us an opportunity to embrace the most sensitive and transformative spiritual assignments we face: the fractures within our soul family. Through the lens of ancient Kabbalistic wisdom and real-life therapeutic insight, we dive into the deeper purpose behind the conflicts, estrangements, and emotional turbulence that arise in our closest relationships.Together, we examine why the most difficult people in our lives are often the very channels through which our greatest blessings are meant to flow—and how pushing them away can unintentionally cut us off from the light we're seeking. Our conversation uncovers a profound spiritual framework for understanding conflict, repair, and the divine design behind the relationships we're tempted to reject.Join us for the next episode of Weekly Energy Boost with @ElishevaBalas and special guest, @DrRachelGlik. In this special Walk Don't Run to the Doctor episode, Miles Hassell MD tackles one of the most important, yet misunderstood health topics: osteoporosis and fracture prevention. Rather than focusing on numbers from a Dexa scan or quick prescriptions, this episode empowers you with real, actionable steps to build stronger bones and improve your long-term health with evidence-based lifestyle tools. You'll learn why lifestyle choices—good food you make at home, sunlight, and movement—often outperform medications in maintaining bone health. The discussion blends current research, humor, and critical thinking to help you take control of your health journey. Key Takeaways Focus on Fracture Prevention, Not Numbers Osteoporosis is less about bone density scores and more about preventing fractures through lifestyle and strength. Exercise Builds Resilience Weight-bearing activity, balance training, and even ping pong can significantly reduce fall and fracture risk. The Power of Diet A Mediterranean-style diet—rich in vegetables, whole grains, olive oil, nuts, and moderate animal protein—reduces hip fracture risk by nearly 30% with no side effects. Supplements ≠ Food Calcium and vitamin D supplements rarely prevent fractures and can have risks; real food sources work better. Sunlight Matters Safe, regular sun exposure helps maintain healthy vitamin D levels—key for bones, mood, and longevity. Ultra-Processed Foods Harm Bone Health Cooking real food at home supports your microbiome, muscle mass, and bone strength—while saving money and improving quality of life. Small Habits, Big Gains Moderate alcohol intake, protein with every meal, and lifelong movement can transform bone and overall health.

Welcome to What Matters Now, a weekly podcast exploring key issues currently shaping Israel and the Jewish World, with host Amanda Borschel-Dan speaking with The Times of Israel's senior analyst Haviv Rettig Gur, marking two years since the October 7, 2023, Hamas onslaught on southern Israel. To gain a sense of the Israeli public sentiment after two years of war, Rettig Gur analyzes a new survey conducted by Agam Labs and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, led by Nimrod Nir and Dr. Gayil Talshir. The researchers found, in surveying 2,170 Jewish Israelis and 459 Arab Israelis, that there is a drastic shift in Israelis' perceptions of their society and politicians. In one of the more dramatic findings, the report states that the initial unity found in the early months of the war has flipped to a division: from 77% in 2023 saying the war “united society” to 66% in 2025 saying it made society more divided. Pointing to Israel's strengths and human capital, Rettig Gur leaves us with an optimistic framing of the internal work that needs to be done, even as Israel has largely defeated its greatest enemies. And so this week, we ask Haviv Rettig Gur, what matters now. What Matters Now podcasts are available for download on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts. In Episode 254, Part 3 of the Mike Drop podcast, host Mike Ritland continues his conversation with former Green Beret Mark Gianconia, delving into the complex motivations behind the Iraq War and Mark's post-combat transition. The episode opens with a discussion on the murky intelligence surrounding weapons of mass destruction and the decision to invade Iraq, exploring whether it was a justified response to perceived threats or influenced by ulterior motives. Mark reflects on the chaotic post-invasion landscape, including his role in devastating airstrikes against the Iraqi military, navigating minefields, and managing volatile tribal factions in Tuz. He shares the emotional toll of combat, including feelings of guilt and fear, which led to his decision to leave special operations. Mark's career pivots dramatically as he becomes an instructor for the 18 Fox intelligence course, mastering geospatial intelligence and coding, which propels him into a tech career. He also discusses his book, One Green Beret, a cathartic effort to process his experiences, and his current role in geospatial technology, emphasizing AI as a tool rather than a threat.
