In today's Daily Fix:Resident Evil: Requiem is one of the most anticipated titles of 2026, and of course Capcom had to get it on one of the fastest-selling consoles of all time: the Nintendo Switch 2. And getting the game running on the hybrid was actually easier than expected. In other news, The Pokémon Company has responded to reports that the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security used the Pokémon theme song from the anime in a propaganda video, and it doesn't seem like TCPI will be taking any legal action. And the multiplayer mode for Metal Gear Solid Delta will be arriving October 30th.

Star-Crossed Snake Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. This week, we continue our long discussion on Metal Gear Solid Delta, with a few spoilers, but nothing too heavy. The pairing of story and gameplay takes center stage as we both have thoughts upon finishing up the game this past week. What's different, what's the same, and what we liked and didn't highlight the initial wrap-up. We've also got a look at Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and its DLC, which leads to a discussion on in-game challenges. And what's another week without some sort of Call of Duty misstep? Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

A little indie game came out, took the world by storm, and it is a buggy mess! See what our panel of gamers thinks about it and if it being so good is bad for the industry.
With practically every “important” PlayStation 2 game being remastered, remade, and reimagined, it wasn't a surprise when Konami announced Metal Gear Solid Delta. The question wasn't “would it exist?”, but “should it exist?” This week, The Besties discuss why Metal Gear Solid 3 benefits from a high-definition, low-tweak update. And they debate just how loyal a remake should be to its source material. Get the full list of games (and other stuff) discussed at www.besties.fan. Want more episodes? As the clock ticks down toward the looming release of Hollow Knight Silksong, we say goodbye to a bygone era. Strangely enough, that era ends with us revisiting three established franchises with vastly different approaches to modernization. Nick and Chris Davis talk about the impressive - but slightly unambitious - remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Brad delves into Shinobi: Art of Vengeance which has reinvented the franchise with a shift of genre and a beautiful new coat of paint. Meanwhile, Krispy declares No Man's Sky: Voyagers to be the ultimate expansion which softens the barrier-to-entry and out Starfield's Starfield. Show Notes On this week's podcast, Dan and Kris board the SAG Cartoon Express for another “classic” episode of ThePower Team. This time, it's an episode called Train Game, where there's a train full of kids under threat of explosion from Mr. Big from NARC, and the only hope of saving the day lies in the hands of Acclaim NES game D-listers. Fun! In Week Old News, the new Mortal Kombat movie gets a hefty delay, the EverCade lineup gets some Activision goodness, and ninjas are EVERYWHERE! How desperate. Finally, in The Checkpoint, Kris beat Bananza, but Dan didn't so he can't talk about why the final act cements it as one of Nintendo's all-time greats. Dan got his hands on Metal Gear Solid Delta and has been annoying everyone he know switch his Solid Snake impressions, and Kris got to spend a little time with the beautiful Kirby and the Forgotten Land Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star crossed Worlds. And yes, that is the game's actual title now. Enjoy! With Konami's first proper post-Kojima Metal Gear game hitting shelves (Metal Gear Solid Delta, with apologies to Metal Gear Survive), Chris and show brother Evan reach into the distant past, and grasp in their hands a true piece of cursed media: "Metal Gear" the book, part of the infamous World of Power novelization series. Starring such classic characters as Commander West, Commander South, Chuck Robinson, Bob "Eagle Man" O'Reilly, and of course, the legendary soldier, the man who makes the impossible possible, Marine Captain Justin Halley, sometimes known as "Solid Snake." In a Now We Know first, we're taking you ALL THE WAY THROUGH this one, front to back. It's our first audiobook episode, albeit with some occasional grunts and chortles of dismay. Cue up the Theme of Tara and let's get going. Watch this video episode, and all our video episodes, on our Youtube channel!

New leaks from friend-of-the-show MLiD have given us a deeper glimpse into Sony's plans for PlayStation 6, especially when it comes to the rumored handheld iteration, codenamed Canis. It appears this device -- slated as part of a potential trio of PS6 hardware due out in '27 -- will be affordable, powerful, and perhaps most surprisingly dockable. With all first party competitors now occupying space (Nintendo, Valve) or chasing a presence (Sony, Microsoft) in the handheld realm, it seems like things could get very spicy on multiple fronts. Allow us to discuss in minute detail. Plus: Hermen Hulst gives a rare interview, Ken Levine emerges with hot-off-the-presses details about Judas, Sony reveals its first four incubated products in the MENA Hero Project, it'll now be easier to request a refund on PSN, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Some 14 years after release, what are our thoughts on Catherine? Could a major Xbox announcement be lurking in Sony's reported September showcase? How does Hello Games and No Man's Sky survive by giving so much away for free? Is Where's Waldo nothing more than an unconvincing psy-op? The summer is slowly waning, and an autumn packed with new video games fast approaches. Join Alex, Kyle, Charles, and Eric as they take a look at some of the first big games of 2025's latter half, from Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to early impressions of Battlefield 6 through its open beta. There's also some details on the strange sports game Drag x Drive from Nintendo, the gorgeous blade-skater Sword of the Sea, the charming indie puzzler Is This Seat Taken?, and our reactions to Gamescom Opening Night Live. We must stress: this was recorded before the Hollow Knight Silksong broadcast, so enjoy a few speculative guesses at what it might have been, preserved in amber for our audience.Subscribe to Game Informer Magazine: https://gameinformer.com/subscribeFollow our hosts on social media:Alex Van Aken (@itsVanAken)Kyle Hilliard (@kylehilliard)Charles Harte (@chuckduck365)Eric Van Allen (@seamoosi)Jump to a specific discussion using these timestamps:00:00 - Intro03:36 - Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater15:31 - Sword of the Sea30:23 - Drag x Drive42:33 - Battlefield 6 Open Beta1:01:00 - Is This Seat Taken?1:20:41 - Gamescom Opening Night Live reactions
