And if youuuuu caaaaannnn believe it, it's Christmas once again! We're happy to present (ha) our 2023 Anime Secret Santa Special! If you're not familiar with this project, the kind folks over at the Taiiku Podcast (formerly the All Geeks Considered Podcast, formerly more-so the Reverse Thieves Podcast) organize an annual Secret Santa swap between various bloggers and podcasters in the fandom space. The way it works is that every year, you're randomly assigned a Secret Santa, and they pick three shows for you to check out based on what you've seen via your favorite anime tracking site (MyAnimeList, Kitsu, Anime Planet, etc.). Then, you are to review at least one of those shows and either write or podcast about it. Austin, Tobias, and Bill all participated this year with their own individual picks, and here we are reviewing them all at once for a fun Christmas extravaganza! Here's what we got from Santa-san this Christmas: KILL ME BABY and STAR DRIVER (Tobias) SAMURAI FLAMENCO and LOVE LIVE! SUPERSTAR!! (partial review) (Austin) KAIJI: ULTIMATE SURVIVOR and DEVILMAN CRYBABY (Bill) Please enjoy, and thanks again to Kory and the Taiiku Podcast for hosting this awesome annual event once again! It's not Christmas without Anime Secret Santa, so thank you from the bottom of our kokoro. The thumbnail image (depending on what pod-catcher you're viewing this on) is our official TIA Christmas card, designed by PeachCannoli on Instagram. Be sure to give them a follow! Here it is! Our Definitive Top 15 ranking of the best anime movies of the 2010s. Two years and 20+ episodes later, we finally came through! Please enjoy this fun episode that pretty well defines our tastes as a podcast. Shout out to the Insert Credit Podcast for the template that we borrowed to do our rankings. If you have an issue with our list, cry to us on social media about it! Do it! This month, just in time for Halloween, I'm talking all about the cute and slightly terrifying Children's Horror anime film, Unico in the Island of Magic! And to join me to talk all about this kinda creepy classic based on the work of legendary Osamu Tezuka is Gigi from the Dub Talk Podcast! Listen as we discuss how Unico might have traumatized us a bit as kids, why we think the dub of it is so good, and why we think this is a great unconventional viewing choice for the Halloween season, even if you're not normally a fan of scary stuff! But don't worry, we don't just focus on the spooky stuff--there's plenty of fun to be had, too, as this episode also includes: Yoshiaki Kawajiri talk, our frustrations on lack of cute Unico merch in America, and poorly done voice impressions! Subscribers! Be sure to go to the blog to read the description easier & check out links for this episode! The Saturday Anime series continues with one of the most iconic anime (and manga) to ever be made: AKIRA! And with me to talk a bit about this massively influential franchise is new guest to the show Vrai Kaiser (they/them). Even with 2 hours to chat about Akira, we only manage to touch the tip of the iceberg on what makes this Katsuhiro Otomo classic so special. Listen as we discuss how we first saw this film far too young, how it appealed to more folks than just your typical anime fans, and why this 80s creation is a little too prophetic on how life in 2019 ended up being. Subscribers! Be sure to go to the blog to read the description easier & check out links for this episode! This month's episode is another ReView! What is a “ReView” episode, you might ask? Well, it's my highly-clever (ok not really) title for episodes where I go back and watch an older title I haven't seen in a long time, and see if what I remember (and what my opinions on it) are still the same now that some time's gone by. This month, in honor of all the Wrestlemania stuff I kept having to hear about, I'm revisiting a wrestling anime that could easily have been a random episode of Dirty Pair, except with character designs by Kenichi Sonoda. That's right, it's The Wanna-Be's! Anime Bliss episode 4: Anime social networks Welcome to the animebliss podcast, your source on anime and Asian culture. I am host the otaku of otakus Ira Fuse. Today's topic anime social networks are they really necessary? One of the most common anime communities is My anime list. The site helps to create a list of how much anime and manga you have viewed. MAL also features groups to meet users with like interests and forums to discuss a variety of topics. Web site: http://myanimelist.net/ Anime-Planet As a another community AP also shows how many days and hours you have watched. But I would say it is a little more advanced from MAL in regards to adding reviews and a more advanced profile.
