Got you, suckas! Steve Martin Month concludes with an underrated gem of a comedy that hates Hollywood but deeply loves The Movies, 1999's Bowfinger, directed by Frank Oz, written by Steve Martin, and starring Martin, Eddie Murphy, Heather Graham, Christine Baranski, Jamie Kennedy, Robert Downey Jr. and Terrence Stamp. A movie producer at the end of his rope, Bobby Bowfinger's one last shot at Hollywood success goes up in smoke when action star Kit Ramsey won't agree to be in his movie -- so they make the movie anyway, starring Ramsey without his knowledge or consent. A classic comedy for both Hayley and J Mo's teen years, today we put the film on trial and ask whether it deserves to bask in the heavenly light of the ADHD-DVD film canon. Other topics this week include bad anniversaries, 12 Angry Men, Little Miss Sunshine, Borat, sex scenes in movies with your parents, The Producers, The Player, Dolemite Is My Name, The Jerk, Trading Places, and The Asylum Films' Transmorphers. Hyperfixations this week include film noir (in particular, 1945's Detour) and the British comedy game show Taskmaster. And we both pick our Top 5 All-Time Steve Martin Movies! Like so many of the comedies we've covered this month, this film is sadly not available for streaming at the time of publication. But if you can track it down, it is very much worth the time and effort to do so. Godspeed. We'll be back next week doing... something. We'll confirm on Twitter when we know which movie it is, so follow us there @ADHDDVDpod.

A game of revenge that features a week of sharks, each bigger than the next! Peter and Jacob venture into their first Asylum film in this wet and wild killer shark film. Dubious special effects and questionable lines abound. Speculation about how much horse tranquilizers a person should take is only the tip of the shark fin. Take a dive and cool off, just don't think about what might be down there with you under the dark waves. For the record, hammerhead sharks aren't dangerous.https://yourcitysleeps.bandcamp.com Email: gormanongore@protonmail.comTwitter: http://twitter.com/gormanongore Website: https://gormanongore.buzzsprout.com/Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/7hjbpX0bPx79p0YY9ACvq7Apple podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/gorman-on-gore/id1579271619?i=1000530712722Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xODI4OTY0LnJzcw==https://www.buymeacoffee.com/GormanOnGore gormanongorecom.wordpress.com

Ever stopped your Netflix scrolling to click on that new Marvel movie you've been dying to watch, only to realize that the dude playing “Almighty Thor” has absolutely no resemblance to Chris Hemsworth, and his hammer looks more like a dog bone stuck onto a baseball bat? (Obviously this is a purely hypothetical situation with no basis in reality.) Well then, friend, you have been duped by the marketing savvy of the infamous film production company, “The Asylum.” Ray teaches Rob about how seriously The Asylum takes its mission of producing crappy movies; the dangers of mixing sharks and time travel; the scenic deserts of Acton, California; and why making low-budget and legally questionable movies is actually a worthy endeavor. It’s our first coverage of an The Asylum Films movie for the podcast. Dead 7 is a post-apocalyptic zombie western, filled with aging Boy Band members. Written by Nick Carter, we see why The Asylum has done so well with their B-movie formula all of these years. Filled with plot holes and bewildering location cuts, it’s actually not as bad in those areas as some A-List movies out there. We talk about the Asylum formula, b-movies, and why a director might want to pick up a project like this from a b-movie studio. Dead 7 can be found on Amazon Video.

This week we're taking on the 2006 slasher "Halloween Night".  This indie movie from Asylum Films is just another run of the mill cookie cutter, paint by numbers slasher that follows the same old formula that we've seen hundreds of times before. It doesn't reinvent the wheel or break any new ground, but it has really great kills, solid gore and practical effects, pretty decent acting and a boob count that is through the roof.
