Sharon's adoptive father goes missing and she attempts to find him in the alternate reality holding the answers to her nightmares that have long haunted her.Silent Hill: Revelation is the sequel to Silent Hill and is based off the video game Silent Hill 3. Being one of Kit Harrington's biggest roles since his rise to stardom in Game of Thrones, this film brought together both survival horror video game fans as well as fans of fantasy. Unfortunately, we were hoping for a film that hit a bit closer to the source material of an amazing game from our childhood rather than being an amalgamation of all things Silent Hill related. Struggling to tell a cohesive story and assuming the viewer understands and can follow the messy plot, this movie isn't successful as a video game adaptation or as a sequel to the first Silent Hill. In this week's episode of The Game Informer Show, we dive deep into the past to save the future with Cronos: The New Dawn, which sounds cool, but is ultimately fine. It's a solid survival horror game from Bloober Team. We also dive into the latest major update for Deadlock, the new multiplayer game from Valve, discuss why the Trails In The Sky FC remake could similarly popularize the role-playing games like Yakuza 0 did for its respective series in 2017, and talk about Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Star-Crossed World DLC on Switch 2.The Game Informer Show is a weekly podcast covering the video game industry.
This week on 3v0, we're diving headfirst into the dark, claustrophobic corridors of Dead Space — one of the most iconic survival horror games of all time. We talk dismemberment mechanics, audio design that'll keep you up at night, and how Dead Space changed the horror genre in gaming forever. Plus, a few horrifying laughs along the way. Grab your rig, stay near a save station, and hit play. Just… don't look behind you.
On this retrospective review, I discuss the somewhat forgotten games Koudleka and Shadow Hearts, a series of horror role-playing games in the Japanese fashion. Deeply themed with loss, tragedy, hope, Japanese and European themes, Lovecraftian monsters and the time honored trope of kicking a god in the face, this is a series that deserved more love than it got. Stop by for a listen and relive a set of cult classics - or maybe get introduced to the for the first time!

In this week's episode, The FM3 dig into the 2011 Survival Horror film "The Grey". This was picked by a top level Patreon Patron and is one that Jef, Josh and Brian did not have on their planes radar. That said, they happily welcomed a film with some top shelf actors and a story that Chuck Band didn't produce! So gather round the fire cause this is gonna be a cold couple nights. The crew is hunkered down amidst the wreckage of a downed plane and of course there is a pack of wolves just waiting to snack on a group of frozen dude-sicles. As the wolves' bellies are filling up on man meat, it's time to decide to keep hangin' around the plane or to venture off yonder into the deep dark forest. What would you do? How would you survive? Would you eat a dude? Asking for a friend...
[School of Everything Else 2025] A marvellously authentic and creepy modern Survival Horror in the convincing style of a PlayStation One title from the mid-90s conversely featuring inflections of more contemporary scary games. This one is available on Steam and Switch and PS4 and Xbox Series X. There is an abandoned theme park to explore and mysteries to uncover, as we structure this episode into three sections. GREEN FINE: Means you can hear about the basic setup and still go in completely fresh if you want to know none of the surprises. YELLOW CAUTION: Makes up the majority of the show as we discuss how it goes about itself and what the experience is like. RED DANGER: Is all the juicy endgame material, where we get to fully draw back the curtain. This was a commissioned show from Maya Santandrea and Selfproclaimed, and we are so glad they chose to set it before us. You will be too.

Crossed is a violent and graphic comic book series created by Garth Ennis. It explores the breakdown of civilization and the extreme horror that ensues when humans become infected with a contagion that removes all inhibitions. The series is known for its shocking and visceral storytelling, although some runs focus more on shock value than good storytelling. The original volume is a standout, with a focus on survival horror and impactful artwork. Other notable arcs include Crossed: Family Values, Crossed 3D, Crossed: Psychopath, Crossed: Badlands, Crossed +100, and Crossed: Wish You Were Here. On July 1st 1999, Capcom and Shinji Mikami released their follow up to the wildly successful Resident Evil (Biohazard). Building on the technology, and using fixed camera angles and tank controls once again, Dino Crisis would be described as an evolution of the formula, and "Panic Horror" instead of "Survival Horror." Dino Crisis follows Regina, a special member of the S.O.R.T team, along with her companions Gail, Rick, Cooper, and Tom (poor Tom), as they attempt to infiltrate a government research facility on Ibis island and extract Dr. Kirk and his research into "Third Energy Development." This "Third Energy" technology could be the source of unlimited and free power that the world desperately needs. However, in the wrong hands the technology can also be weaponized and used by global super powers to exert their influence on the world. As Regina and her team arrive at Ibis Island, it quickly becomes apparent that something is wrong at the facility. Researchers and staff are no where to be seen, at least alive anyway. It appears that someone, or something is roaming the island and killing the scientists in gruesome ways. Just what is hunting these people down, where is Dr. Kirk, and will Regina and her team make it out alive? In many ways Dino Crisis attempts to take what made Resident Evil successful and iterate on it, adding in true 3D backgrounds and environments, and updated crafting system, decision trees for key story moments, and smarter more brutal enemy AI. Largely these efforts were successful, and while Dino Crisis never reached the popularity and heights of Resident Evil, it still garnered its own cult following to this day. Come along with Josh, Max, and Colin as they try to survive Ibis Island in Episode 8 of Surviving the Horror. We hope you all enjoy the episode! PSA: This game was played through the PS5 PS Premium Collection and as such rewind and quick save state features were available to us during our playthroughs.
