The recent firing of the Commissioner of the BLS and the resignation of a top Fed official have cast even more doubt on the trustworthiness of government data and the future independence of the central bank. This is a brave and tenuous new world for investors who have been enjoying the march to record highs behind a handful of the biggest stocks in the market yet again. Jay Woods, Chief Global Strategist for Freedom Capital Markets helps us find the right price levels even as the data we depend on becomes more dubious. Plus, we are entering the seasonally weakest period of the year just as tariffs are set to take effect at the end of the week. The summer wind might just blow things over. A new Trade Me survey has revealed some rather interesting house hunter behaviours. real estate agent and former broadcaster Rawdon Christie joins Emile Donovan.
This week on Tangent, we're diving into two baffling cases of people who straight-up vanished—and left behind way more questions than answers.First, we're talking about Paul Whipkey, an Army lieutenant who went out for a drink in 1958 and somehow ended up missing in Death Valley. Was it a secret mission? A government cover-up? Or just the worst road trip ever? Then we get into the case of Maura Murray, a college student who crashed her car on a quiet New Hampshire road in 2004 and disappeared before the cops even showed up. No note, no trace, just a whole lot of internet theories and a seriously weird timeline.Join Jack and Austin as we try to make sense of these strange disappearances, toss around some wild theories, and probably get a little sidetracked along the way—because that's how we do it on Tangent.

If your evil character isn't at least pretending to be helpful, they're not evil—they're just unemployed. In this episode of the RPGBOT.Podcast, the hosts dive deep into the dark, morally murky world of evil characters in tabletop RPGs. With Ash leading the charge, the conversation focuses on how to play a character with evil tendencies without destroying the game, the party, or your friendships. The hosts explore different shades of evil alignments, the narrative value of morally compromised PCs, and offer practical advice on how to maintain group cohesion when one of the players is clearly up to no good. From selfish rogues to power-hungry warlocks, the cast lays out the dos and don'ts of roleplaying antagonistic characters responsibly. This episode balances philosophical alignment discussion with real-world table etiquette, all while keeping things lighthearted, insightful, and occasionally disturbing in the best way. If you've ever wanted to play the villain—but not be one—this is your guide. Check out our Best of Season 1 and Best of Season 2 playlists! Great poets write as much by ear as by sight, and often turn to sonic phenomena for inspiration. The ringing of bells is one of the most time-honored of those sounds, and in today's poem Wilbur deepens the sound-image through the added dimension of distance. Happy reading. Jasmine Crockett and former Biden advisor, Mitch Landrieu. Blackout. The growing online movement to boycott major retailers abandoning diversity and inclusion initiatives. The Rev. Al Sharpton will tell me if this is an effective strategy. And a Bold Move. Three years ago tomorrow, Russia invaded Ukraine, but today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he's willing to resign if it leads to peace. Amb. Michael McFaul will discuss this and the unwillingness of some in the Trump administration to admit that Vladimir Putin started the war. All that and more on “The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart.”
Jen Psaki examines the hypocrisy of Elon Musk and Donald Trump's claim to be fighting corruption when they're actually perpetuating it, explaining why nothing encapsulates the administration's embrace of corruption better than the quid pro quo with New York City Mayor Eric Adams. Rep. Dan Goldman joins Jen to discuss the Justice Department's move to drop criminal charges against Mayor Adams, explaining why this can only be seen as a "politicization of the DOJ." Next, Jen explains why seven federal prosecutors resigned this week rather than file the motion to dismiss the Adams case, which was eventually signed under the threat of firing. She is joined by legal expert Andrew Weissmann to discuss how Trump's DOJ is undermining the rule of law. Then, Jen explains why the Trump administration's pandering to Vladimir Putin is a feature of his foreign policy, not a bug. She is joined by author Bill Browder to discuss the shift in relations between the U.S. and Russia, and what it means for the continued war in Ukraine. Later, Jen is joined by Rep. Greg Casar to discuss how Musk and Trump's ransacking of the federal government is negatively impacting communities across the country, including farmers and veterans. Finally, Jen shares a preview of her conversation with her former boss Rahm Emanuel from a new episode of her podcast "The Blueprint", which is out Monday.Check out our social pages below:https://twitter.com/InsideWithPsakihttps://www.instagram.com/InsideWithPsaki/https://www.tiktok.com/@insidewithpsakihttps://www.msnbc.com/jen-psaki

Snowflakes. These intricate, whimsical crystals are a staple of magical wintry scenes, but how big can they really get? Well, according to the Guinness World Record keepers, the "largest snowflake" ever recorded was a whopping 15 inches in diameter. It was spotted near Missoula, Montana in 1887. But Kenneth Libbrecht, a physicist at Caltech, has long been skeptical of that record. So he set out to find what makes a snowflake a snowflake and whether that 1887 record is scientifically possible. You can read more about what he discovered here.
