Directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese, "The Wolf of Wall Street" is a rollercoaster ride through the life of Jordan Belfort, a charismatic stockbroker who defrauded countless investors during the 1990s. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort, the film presents a captivating portrayal of his extravagant lifestyle, unscrupulous business practices, and the ultimate downfall of his empire. Belfort's crimes, as depicted in the movie, include securities fraud, money laundering, and widespread market manipulation. He led his firm, Stratton Oakmont, in conducting pump-and-dump schemes, selling worthless stocks to unsuspecting clients, and reaping enormous profits at their expense. The movie doesn't shy away from showing the excesses of Belfort's life, including his lavish parties, substance abuse, and the damaging impact on his personal relationships. Belfort's character, played brilliantly by DiCaprio, is portrayed as both a charming and ruthless figure. He captivates audiences with his charisma and persuasive skills while simultaneously repulsing them with his immoral actions. The film's exploration of Belfort's complex personality and the moral ambiguity of his character makes it a thought-provoking and controversial masterpiece. As for the Human Resources (HR) violations committed by Jordan Belfort and his office, they were extensive. Belfort's firm, Stratton Oakmont, fostered a toxic and unethical work environment where employees were encouraged to engage in unethical practices to make a quick profit. These violations included harassment, hostile workplace conditions, and coerced participation in illegal activities, all in the pursuit of financial gain. Belfort's character in the movie doesn't shy away from depicting the harsh realities of these HR violations and the devastating impact they had on the lives of many involved. "The Wolf of Wall Street" is a gripping exploration of greed, power, and the consequences of unchecked ambition. Join us in this video as we delve deeper into the film, its portrayal of Jordan Belfort, and the real-life events that inspired this cinematic masterpiece. Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner welcoming you to Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast, Episode #323. Welcome! I'm glad you made it. Last week on Epi322 of Succotash, show creator and executive producer Marc Hershon, whom I alternate hosting duties with, brought you a quartet of clips for a show that he titled "Interesting Behaviors". The clips were from the soundcasts known as My Neighbors Are Dead, The Doug Stanhope Podcast, Sarah Halstead's Drinking During Business Hours, and Were You Raised By Wolves? They made for an enjoyable episode that I urge you to listen to at your earliest convenience. You can still find that episode and EVERY episode of Succotash going back to the first episodes from way back in 2011 at www.succotashshow.com and also on most soundcast streaming services including, but probably not limited to, Apple & Google Podcasts, Spotify, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Amazon Music, Audible, iHeart Radio, PodBay, and Podchaser. This week's episode, "Autumn Triple Play", contains three clips, one of each from the soundcasts known as On The Rocks: Where Celebrities & Cocktails Mix, Gutting the Sacred Cow", and Chatabix. This week's show is broght to you by our longtime (and 100% FAKE SPONSOR) Henderson's Pants and their new Fancy Pants for Fops. Let's get to it. CLIPS Gutting The Sacred CowFrom the show's description: Standup comedians Kevin Gootee and Kevin Israel love films and they love arguing about them. But in this unique podcast; they invite guests to come in and argue why some of the most financially successful, beloved or acclaimed films are trash. But here's the twist, the film must meet 1 of these criteria: widely beloved, financial success, or critically acclaimed. So no dunking on Friday the 13th part 8, we all know that's an egregious piece of s--. We give a platform with those who have unpopular opinions to be bold enough to voice them. Some films that have faced scrutiny: Back to the Future, The Dark Knight, Toy Story, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the Matrix, and Die Hard. Can the guests persuade us? Or do we rip them a new one? Give us a listen and we'll easily prove that we belong on any top movie podcast list. My clip comes from very recently - September 17th, 2022 - Entitled "Noodles from the Offspring FLUSHES Christmas Vacation DOWN THE SEWER": Episode 152. joining Kevin Gootee as co-host for this installment is longtime friend Terry Loda. On The Rocks: Where Celebrities & Cocktails MixTV & radio personality Alexander Rodriguez, along with co-host Stephanie Erb, sips and chats with your favorite celebrities from TV, film, Broadway, music, reality TV and pop culture in this weekly, entertainment, no holds barred talk show. Academy Award, Emmy Award, Grammy Award, Tony Award, Golden Globe Award winners – Alexander's drank with them all! It's talk radio with a twist! Our clip is from back in the Spring of this year - March, to be a bit more precise - and is entitled Gedde Watanabe (Sixteen Candles, Mulan, ER) Chats Diversity in Hollywood. I really liked hearing this interview. I chose a clip from the very beginning of it because I do love a big, detailed introduction and when an interview has the amount of warmth that this one clearly does. Chatabix This was recommended to me by none other than Davian Dent of Strange Times Podcast (longtime friend of Succotash and frequently clipped.) What's the show about? Basically, comedians David Earl & Joe Gillingham chat drivel and nonsense. A shambolic Breakfast Show with Special Guests and regular contributors. The clip we have dropped on September 12th, 2022, featuring guest Doug Stanhope. Wow, it seems like only a few minutes ago I was writing the intro to the show and now this bit at the end needs writing as well. Isn't that the way of things? I do hope you found something enjoyable in the program tonight…I say "tonight" for a couple of reasons, one is that it is actually night when I am recording this part, and the other is because, more often that not, I used to say that regardless of what time of day it was when I recorded…and now I still do. I appreciate your taking some of your time out to listen to what I selected for you. If you are now inspired to learn more about the entertainments you were just exposed to, you are free to do that. Maybe you'll come back to listen to the next show which would be Epi324 and will most likely be hosted by Marc Hershon. Maybe you've already listened to #324 because it is far enough in the future that you are listening to the episodes backwards, or just generally out-of-sequence for whatever reason you choose. Maybe you are an electric audio archivist far into the future when myself and everyone else I know, or knew of, are long dead and you are navigating the audio virtually with A.I. generated art to represent us soundcaster ghosts visually in some way. In any of those scenarios I do hope you have the oppourtunity to share us with others. We'd really appreciate it. Maybe, in your present, I still have the webpage www.tysonsaner.com which you could visit to check out links to another soundcast I co-host with Hunter Block called "Anti Social Show". There are also links to my YouTube channel which mostly features videos of myself playing video games. At this point in history, it is September of 2022 so I've just recently published an episode where I play "Slime Rancher 2" and give my first impressions of it. And finally, maybe, when you are checking those things out you will remember that you listened to this show at some point and discovered a soundcast that you will listen to every episode that you possibly can of it. Sometimes it works that way. Thank you for listening, be decent to each other and please remember to pass the Succotash. — Tyson Saner

Comedian and host of the Gutting the Sacred Cow Podcast Kevin Gootee joins Chris to talk about Thor: Love and Thunder, The Boys Season 3, Barry, Money Heist, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, and more!
Comedian Kevin Gootee drops in to talk about the wild career of all-time great American band Guns N Roses. How did they set out to make the best-selling debut of all-time and actually accomplish it? What's the real reason Izzy Stradlin left the band at the height of their fame? Why did Axl always insist on being late to gigs, even if it meant causing riots? What was at the root of the alleged racism and homophobia behind the song "One in a Million"? Listen in and find out!
Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner, and I welcome you to Soundcast Land … which is where Succotash, the soundcast you are currently listening to, resides…as well as in the hearts of millions I am being told so, Holy Crap…thank you! It's a very special feeling that I will attempt to acknowledge on the regular by continuing to do more-or-less the same thing for as long as seems appropriate…whatever THAT means. Cheers to you! Last week, in Epi311 titled "Moving to the Sounds of Laughter", show creator, executive producer, my co-host and your more-or-less every-other-show-host Marc Hershon brought you a trio of soundcast clips from the soundcasts known as: 5-4, Crazy Town, Prop Culture, and Romance Road Test. Lots of entertainment to be had there, and you can find that show along with our 11 years deep archive of episodes over at www.succotashshow.com, or pretty much wherever else soundcasts can be found and listened to… including where you found this episode. Speaking of which: This is Episode 312, "Nothing In Common", and I've got clips for you from three soundcasts that have (seemingly) nothing in common): No Cover - Live from Savage Henry Comedy Club, Gag On This…Podcast, and In Bed with Nick and Megan. If you are new to our show, welcome! Thank you for listening. This episode is sponsored by the all-new Passive Aggressive Pants from Henderson's Pants, makers of coverage for everything you have down under since 1735. CLIPS No Cover - Live from Savage Henry Comedy Club At Savage Henry Comedy Club in Eureka, CA, comedians and luminaries join host Mark Sanders to unwind and laugh about the goings on in Humboldt Country and the world at large. I clip from the first episode from May 13th, 2022 - "Condors in the Air, Scooters on the Street, and a Couple of Kinds of Comics",, and feature the music and comedy stylings of inaugural guest Stephanie Knowles. Gag On This…PodcastBig Nick, Rob, Charron, and Daddy D get together each week to interview local comedians/comediennes about their life in comedy, their views of the local scene, and we have them enter the 'Comics Studio.' We also discuss random topics and crack jokes with our guests and sometimes ask the audience to join in on the fun!" Taken from their Epi181 the dropped May 9th of this year, called "Gutting the Sacred Sinkie", the gang is joined by comedian Kevin Gootee! In this clip, Kevin explains what "Comics Watching Comics" is and notes some of the influence it has had on new comedians. In Bed with Nick and Megan Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman have been a couple for 20 years - 138 years in Hollywood time - and in their podcast they take listeners directly into their bed… because that's where every episode is recorded - their bed. Cozying up with their famous friends, your favorite couple provide a funny, revealing, and very candid look into their relationship and life at large. In some episodes, they'll even kick the guest out of bed and get extra personal in what some have called the most searing and rawly sexual conversations ever to burn their way through a voice recorder. Oh, yes. It's that good. Join Megan and Nick for some serious pillow talk. This clip is from August 30th, 2020, an episode entitled "Checking In with Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest". There is a terrific story very early on about how Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest met. I did not clip that for this show. I chose instead to go with a clip of the group having a discussion that begins with sharing experiences in the theatre and the early days of cable T.V. programming. (Note: There has not been an episode of In Bed with Nick and Megan released since the "Season 1 Finale" dropped on September 13th, 2020.) When you get done listening to Episode 312, this is pretty much what I'll be saying: "Hey there… welcome to the end of the episode. I do hope you found some interest and/or entertainment in the roughly half-hour of your life that you spent listening to us. Maybe you will search out these shows to add to your "to-listen-to-queue" for further exploration? Maybe you've already heard one or more of the shows featured on this program and were curious to hear specifically what we chose to share with other people… maybe you would have chosen a different portion? Those are a great many "Maybe"s indeed, but they are only as good as their ability to signify that probabilities are being speculated upon…. At least, that's what it looks like from where I'm sitting. Another difficult thing is finding a graceful way to transition to a plug for my website over at www.tysonsaner.com where you will find links to all my other projects including other soundcasts, music, videogame gaming videos of various sorts on my YouTube channel, over a hundered now actually with a more-or-less steady release of content lately…and maybe a few surprises. Anyway, listen in right here next week for episode 313 brought to you by Marc Hershon and then, most likely, I will be back in 2 weeks with episode 314… so, until then, Be Decent to Each Other, and if someone should ask you if you've heard anything good or interesting lately, and we come to mind, won't you please pass the Succotash? — Tyson Saner

Another titan just may fall on this podcast! Ben and Dave from @blockbustermentality return to attempt and obliterate every Gen-X kids' favorite film, Batman (1989). Some argue Michael Keaton is the best Batman, some argue Jack Nicholson is the best Joker. And some will argue Ben and Dave are ass clowns for trying to attack the Tim Burton juggernaut. But your favorite plucky hosts just may have something to say about that. @KevinGootee and @KevinIsrael_NJ adjust their cape and cowl and see if this version stands up as well Kim Basinger's plastic surgery. One of the most beloved comedies and sketch comedy characters from the last 20 years is Borat. But fellow countryman to Sacha Baron Cohen is Josh from Films and That believes Borat is as funny as a rubber fist in anus. Or if you're into that, enjoy! Maybe Josh just hated how everyone kept saying, "NIIIIICE." But do Commandant @KevinGootee and Colonel @KevinIsrael_NJ feel that Josh's argument is worse than being stuck in a Pentecostal church? Gutters...come out and Play-EEEE-AYEEEE. John from @Pintocomics decrees that the Warriors is a tale of the biggest dorks that call themselves gangs. The Baseball Furies, Turnbull ACs, the Lizzies...more like the 4H club according to John. 1999 was a fantastic year for film and Y2K hysteria. And for our LIVE SHOW, we invited fan favorites @JoNosuchinsky and @billschulz from @morninbillandjo on @compoundamerica to back. The duo has selected the 1999 cult classic, Office Space. Joanne and Bill target the film that provided some most oft repeated office-speak cliches. The X-Men films are dropping like flies on this podcast. David from @SuperheroSpeak joins @KevinGootee and @KevinIsrael_NJ to sling mud at the arguably best X-Men film. At the risk of sounding viciously redundant, here we go again. ANOTHER bulletproof film that Kevin Gootee and Kevin Israel thought would NEVER face the hangman is here. Our pal, David the Producer, feels that Back to the Future is completely undeserving of all its love and acclaim. No typos here, you read that correctly. DTP hates the tale of the high school kid and wacky professor that build a time machine...out of a DeLorean? We're as shocked and aghast as you are but if anyone has the chops to pull off an impossible gutting, it's David the Producer. Who loves subtitle movies? Well Bobby Slayton (@pitbullofcomedy) sure hated a recent Oscar winner that has subtitles and that film is Parasite. The story of a grifting South Korean that folds pizza boxes irks Bobby so much that he had to come on (taped back at the start of quarantine!) to explain why the Oscars got this wrong. @KevinGootee and @KevinIsrael_NJ are ASTOUNDED (no hyperbole, it's a first that occurs on this podcast) when Bobby drops a certain piece of knowledge in his argument. Do the Kevins put down the pitbull of comedy's argument like a stray? Did you get your tickets for the next GTSC live show yet?
