Dennis Santana had another terrible game for the Pirates as the Guardians walked it off against the former closer on Saturday. The Pirates have 18 blown saves. A report came out from Bob Nightengale that the Pirates don't want to add much payroll, but Jeff disputed it and the Pirates are willing to add salary. "What Nightengale said just isn't true." Jeff said adding salary isn't a worry.
Hour 1 with Jeff Hathhorn: The Pirates took two out of three from the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend. Billy Cook had two RBIs and threw a runner out! Do you feel good about the series? Dennis Santana had another terrible game for the Pirates as the Guardians walked it off against the former closer on Saturday. The Pirates have 18 blown saves. A report came out from Bob Nightengale that the Pirates don't want to add much payroll, but Jeff disputed it and the Pirates are willing to add salary.
Bob Nightengale said recently that the Pirates won't add deadline help if they are adding to the payroll. This made big waves throughout Pittsburgh as many are hoping that the Pirates add bullpen arms. Poni thinks that Cherington, like other GMs throughout the league, is afraid to make a trade unless he knows he is fleecing the other guy.
MLB writer Travis Sawchik joined the show. Travis says that he absolutely thinks the Pirates should be buyers at the deadline, and he thinks that bullpen help should be the first priority. He also says that there is no excuse for the Pirates not to help the bullpen, as bullpen arms are always on the move around deadline time. Travis says that the market will loosen up near the deadline because there will terms will be more sure that they cannot make the playoffs. He also thinks that it would cost a ridiculous package to acquire Mason miller, similar to the one that the A's got for him last year. Sawchik does not think that the idea of trading Oneil Cruz is a good one. Donny Football Debrief – Tom Brady made waves this weekend, as he was starting to form a feud with Logan Paul. It feels like we are setting up for Tom Brady vs Logan Paul at WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today joins Rock Riley and Chris Mathis, filling in for TKras on The Drive, to break down the latest MLB Trade Deadline buzz. Nightengale explains why the Tampa Bay Rays are expected to be one of the most aggressive buyers before the deadline and discusses what areas they're targeting. Could Tigers ace Tarik Skubal actually be a realistic option, or is it just wishful thinking? Bob shares what he's hearing from around baseball, separates fact from fiction on the biggest trade rumors, and previews what could be a franchise-defining deadline for the Rays as they chase an American League pennant.
Tarik Skubal had some comments after he was pulled by A.J. Hinch after the 5th inning, further displaying how out of touch he is. The guys had a field day over these comments and a report from Bob Nightengale before they did part 1 of "Can We Say That" at the end of the first hour.
Mike and Rico share some more thoughts regarding Skubal's hypocrisy and hear from the people as well.
Valenti and Rico spent the first half of the show discussing what Tarik Skubal had to say about being pulled from yesterday's game after the 5th inning and the hypocrisy behind it. They also reacted to a report from Bob Nightengale that Skubal really wants to stay in Detroit and sign an extension with them. In the third hour, the guys shifted their sights towards the latest news about Warde Manuel and whether his time might be coming up in Ann Arbor.
The guys analyze the viral on-air disagreement between guest hosts Blake and Chris Arnold during a recent broadcast. They also discuss the Texas Rangers' outlook heading into the All-Star break and Bob Nightengale's reports on Corey Seager's trade rumors. Finally, they debate the Dallas Cowboys' placement in current NFL power rankings and how they match up against AFC rivals.
The Los Angeles Dodgers head into the All-Star break on a disappointing note after being swept by the Diamondbacks. Jeff Spiegel and Clint Pasillas break down a frustrating series as defensive mistakes piled up, the offense went quiet, and the Dodgers failed to finish the first half the way they hoped. Despite the rough ending, there was plenty to discuss away from the field as the Dodgers may have landed one of the biggest steals of the MLB Draft in first round pick Bo Lowrance. The guys break down the selection and put the Dodgers' first half into perspective as they enter the break with the best record in baseball and a commanding lead in the NL West. Plus, Bob Nightengale provides a big update on Tarik Skubal's status heading into the trade deadline. #Dodgers Tube in all season long!
