Tory Horton got into the end zone in his first outing, Grey Zabel dominated a former SEC lineman that he was matched up against for majority of his snaps, Robbie Ouzts made a key block on a touchdown run, and Jalen Milroe showed off his wheels and some accuracy on a rollout pass near the goal line. We also touch on the importance of preseason games, particularly for young talents like Jalen Milroe, as they prepare to make their mark. We're wrapping up our Know Your Rival series with our discussion on the San Francisco 49ers prospects for the 2025 season. Why are the Niners getting so much hype after losing so much defensive talent? Should Niners fans be so bullish that they're rookie talent can see immediate success? We dissect the most significant off-season changes for the Niners, and talk about why addressing their biggest need could result in creating a major weakness. The Niners paid Brock Purdy what appears to be Top 10 QB money, but the next three years are very favorable for the team. But what if Purdy has a limited skillset at receiver to throw to? Jauan Jennings is demanding a new deal, their free agent pickup may be out to start the season and they could be counting on young players to perform early. Finally, can the 49ers bounce back, or could this be the end of their success over the next few years? In the second half of the show, there's plenty of talk about with the latest training camp news, including injury updates and standout performances from rookies. Jalen Milroe could be giving fans a lot to talk and think about once the first preseason game rolls around. In the Do Better segment we talk about cottonwood trees and how they're making life more difficult. UPS is making deliveries more difficult, particularly when they don't deliver on their next day promises. Stick around to the end to find out why a grizzly bear and Aaron Donald both get the nod for Better at Life. Support the show Get in the Flock! Ichiro's commitment to the fans is above any. Kenny McIntosh went down with a significant knee injury over the weekend and it's feared to be season-ending. It's not good for the Seahawks but just a bummer for Kenny. Mollywhop Monday! Chris Crawford and Nathan Bishop join Ian to break down this weekend' series against the Angels. Chris isn't happy with Dan Wilson's management of Bryan Woo on Friday, and feels as though there are times when the players haven't been backed up by their manager. We saw something similar with Logan Gilbert yesterday. However, he admits it's an eye test. Nathan says it's hard to know what happens behind closed clubhouse doors, but Wilson should've gotten himself ejected for Woo. Plus, thoughts on Josh Naylor's Seattle debut. How important is it for the Mariners to add to the roster over the next few days? They go through players available, who would help the most and what the M's would have to give up to get them. The guys reflect on Ichiro Suzuki as he was inducted into the MLB HOF this weekend. Corbin Smith, Emerald City Spectrum sits down to tell us what he saw over the weekend and the bummer that is Kenny McIntosh's ACL tear. It does create an opportunity for Damien Martinez, though. He also tells us what he's seen in the first four days of training camp, as well as why he's so excited to see the guys in pads today. Ian's interview with Ernest Jones IV last week procured some great insight on this team, as well as his own journey this past year. We listen back to the highlights. With players like Uchenna Nwosu on the PUP list and Johnathan Hankins sitting out with a non-football injury, will Seattle be in trouble on the defensive lin? The Southeastern Conference's 2025 football season promises to be one of the most compelling in recent memory, blending established powers with emerging challengers across the league's East and West divisions. At the top of the hierarchy, Alabama enters Year Two under Kalen DeBoer with a revamped offense led by rising junior quarterback Ty Simpson and a receiving corps dotted with true freshman stars. The Tide's veteran secondary—anchored by Domani Jackson and Keon Sabb—should generate turnovers, but Alabama's ability to replace departed playmakers like Jalen Milroe and Justice Haynes will be tested in hostile environments such as Florida State and Wisconsin. Meanwhile, reigning East champion Georgia faces its own transition, having lost a quartet of first-round defensive picks and quarterback Carson Beck, thrusting Gunner Stockton into the spotlight. If Georgia's offensive line coalesces quickly and their rebuilt front seven can replicate past dominance, the Bulldogs remain a threat to run the table and return to the College Football Playoff.Elsewhere in the East, Florida's Billy Napier looks to leverage a healthy DJ Lagway and a power-running duo in Jadan Baugh and Ja'Kobi Jackson to vault the Gators back into SEC contention, while Tennessee reloads rather than rebuilds under Josh Heupel, fielding a new QB battle and a defense hungry to sustain its recent success. South Carolina and Missouri lurk as potential dark horses—the Gamecocks with a ferocious “bend-but-take” defense under Clayton White, and the Tigers riding momentum from consecutive double-digit win seasons under Eliah Drinkwitz. In the West, LSU's Garrett Nussmeier returns after a Heisman-caliber campaign, but must navigate early road tests at Clemson and Ole Miss behind a retooled offensive line. Ole Miss itself, guided by Lane Kiffin, seeks to replace NFL-bound stars with redshirt sophomore Austin Simmons and a dynamic downfield attack. Auburn's Hugh Freeze, Arkansas's Sam Pittman, and Texas A&M's Mike Elko each believe veteran leadership and portal acquisitions can push their programs into the upper echelon of the West, while Kentucky and Mississippi State chase incremental gains to break long-standing slumps. As win totals hover between 7.5 and 9.5 games for the conference's marquee programs, bettors and fans alike will be poring over the odds: Alabama at 9.5, Georgia at 9.5, LSU at 8.5, and Texas A&M at 7.5, with futures on the SEC Championship ranging from +390 for Georgia to +5,000 for Missouri. Sleeper picks like South Carolina (+1,800) and Arkansas (+12,000) could reward those willing to roll the dice, while dark-horse narratives are abundant in Columbia, Fayetteville, and College Station. From the Iron Bowl and Egg Bowl to marquee non-conference clashes, every week carries playoff implications and bets on win totals, record projections, and conference-championship futures. Whether you're drafting your pick'em bracket, targeting over/unders, or simply seeking expert analysis, the SEC's 2025 slate offers drama, storylines, and betting angles that will keep college football junkies glued to their screens from Week 1 through the SEC Championship Game.

RUNDOWN Mitch and Hotshot kick off Episode 338 with a chaotic Father's Day recap involving mini-golf madness, stroller gridlock, and a player with a walker clogging the first tee. Hotshot goes MIA for eight hours and doesn't even play. Mitch follows with two public floggings: one for crediting “The Twist” to Fats Domino, the other for dusting off a 2013 John Olerud story like it was breaking news. His fastball? Missing. Hotshot? Happy to point that out. Dave Grosby returns to talk about his health battles, a rough ketamine treatment, and the overlooked value of opioids for pain relief. He still finds time to make a bold Mariners playoff case. Brady Henderson checks in from Seahawks camp to explain why Mike Macdonald's version of Seattle looks more united and less ego-driven. He breaks down Sam Darnold's grip on QB1, the Jalen Milroe development arc, and why 2024 already feels different. Finally, Brady Farkas flies solo at the Mariners No-Table. Seattle sweeps Cleveland, JP Crawford stays hot, and Julio keeps hitting — but not with much muscle. They break down rotation depth, bullpen leaks, and trade bait like Gino Suarez and Josh Naylor. The playoff math is still murky, but the hunt continues. There is one expert out there that thinks the Seahawks could finish last in the NFC West, what has prompted this take? Bump disagrees and thinks this team might not be the best, but the Seahawks are ahead of the Cardinals overall. // Headline Rewrites: The Oilers tied the Stanley Cup Finals at 2-2 after coming back from down 3-0 to win game 4 in overtime, The Pacers look to take a 3-1 series lead on OKC in a pivotal game 4 tonight, It’s cutdown day at the US Open. The projected cut line is +4. // What have former QB’s said about Sam Darnold and Jalen Milroe? Chase Daniel thinks the Seahawks pick of Milroe was a great way to develop him and have no pressure to play right away. He also thinks that it was no surprise Mike Macdonald wanted Darnold after his performance last year and he has some edge to him. // The Mariners have struggled to have a complete game since May, why is that? This offense has been very inconsistent and have not been able to get a lead and keep it through 9 innings. When they do hit, the pitching has not been there.

Nathan Santo from the Seahawks Nest Podcast returns to the show for a lively discussion about the Seattle Seahawks and their quarterback situation. With Sam Darnold now in the mix, Nathan shares his long-standing belief in Darnold's potential and how his time with the 49ers may have prepared him for success in Seattle. Does Sam have the offensive line and the weapons in Seattle to succeed? We touch on the Seahawks' pass catchers including the impact of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp and the potential of new additions like Tory Horton and Marquez Valdez-Scantling. As the Seattle Seahawks wrap up their first week of OTAs, it's notable how excited Seahawks fans are about the 2025 team. In this week's show, we pull some of our favorite quotes from press conferences from Abe Lucas, offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, Sam Darnold and Ernest Jones. It was one quote in particular from Abe Lucas that has Adam really excited for the upcoming season and why our show has now anointed him as the Seahawks offensive ambassador. The message of the Seahawks using a fullback came through loud and clear via Abe as well as Sam Darnold. Klint Kubiak has taken note of Jalen Milroe's worth ethic and the early hours he's coming into the facility to work. On the defensive side, coordinator Aden Durde talked about what it has meant for the team to have everyone on board for the voluntary portion of OTAs. But how important is it really? We're somewhat conflicted on the importance. We do note the importance of having a pair of linebackers who are in sync with each other. Ernest Jones talked about just how important Tyrice Knight has been in his own development, and how they've been improving their relationship in the offseason. In the second half of the show, Sam Darnold reveals how good (or bad) of a golfer he is. It's the first time in the history of the show that we'll have a starting quarterback who seems to golf regularly. Lumen Field is getting nearly 20 million in upgrades next offseason for the World Cup, but it sounds like only one of the improvements will actually benefit a small portion of Seahawks fans. The audio equipment company Rode is highlighted in the Do Better segment along with organization highlighting mock draft content for 2026. Better at life honors go out to the Steelers organization (for maybe the only time) and to our Seahawks for highlighting its 50th Season game for the upcoming year.
