Boul God records is a Philadelphia-based bizarre music label that traffics in all manner of surreal and mind-bending contemporary styles of music. From the cavernous, early Death in June influenced post-punk/neofolk of Gorseddd FM, to the disorienting blend of head fucked techno and garbled BM vocals of Grail Wizard, to the brutal and frightening electronics of Incluse, to the dadaist, Kiwi-influenced fucked guitar pop of Flying Mausoleum , Boul God is less concerned with genre than it is the cultivation of an AESTHETIC and an atmosphere. You see, underground labels function best when they are approached as conceptual art projects. The best underground labels — Siltbreeze, Harbinger, Bunker Records, Darker than Black, Hospital Productions — understand this, and when we think of them we think of a certain aesthetic. Boul God is establishing itself upon that list. The anonymous curator/owner/auteur of Boul God joins us here to discuss the label, his own personal taste, covering the Grateful Dead, and the decline of the music scene in his home city of Philly. Hola familia, nueva entrega de nuestro podcast y con We Love Dolce Vita (WLDV) como invitado. Imaginad un cóctel donde metes música electrónica de los 70 y 80, donde los sintetizadores tenían un protagonismo mayúsculo y sonaban de esa forma tan particular, añades horas visionando cine serie B, sci-fi y de terror, y terminas regando con una buena dosis de sonidos Industriales primigenios, el resultado no es otro que We Love Dolce Vita (WLDV). WLDV es capaz de combinar todo lo descrito y transformarlo en arte sonoro, y esto no es una opinión, es un hecho. Buena cuenta de ello son los trabajos que ha publicado en sellos como Giallo Disco, Bordello A Parigi, Waste Editions, Eclectic Reactions, Violette Szabo, Soil Records o Cold Beats. Como no podía ser de otro modo, los sets de WLDV son puro eclecticismo, Italo Disco, Space Disco, , Synth Pop, New Wave, New Beat, EBM, Techno, Electro, Acid, House o el más puro Industrial tienen cabida, creando una amalgama sónica con la que es difícil no bailar. Full circle with Bence Meijer, more closely connected to Rubber than we all expected. Bence is a musician and founder of the blog Archaic Inventions, dedicated to discovering and contextualizing experimental tape culture from the recent past. ”This mix is the result of a couple of years of gathering material, making selections and remembering the past. After a less rosy period of my life I reconnected with my old music friends in Berlin a few years ago. They helped putting me back on track for the most part. It happened after As Longitude came to play in Amsterdam and gave me a sense of spirit again…. I reconnected to Berlin later on. I slowly remembered a previous phase of being in Berlin during the early 00’s digging for records as a young teenager. Going to Staalplaat, buying Mouse On Mars and The Octagon Man records through town, seeing Miss Kitten set-up for a gig in an industrial warehouse club (but went home before it started because I was too young to stay up too late), going to the old Tacheles (say 2004) where a guy on acid was holding a Death In June picture disc vinyl and a wooden cat statue while spacing out, also I remember well seeing an early interview with Berlin electro-pop unit 2Raumwohnung on the “Lola de Musica” TV program on Dutch television. I was visiting the Russendisko bar-night where I was looked upon weirdly being 14 years old entering the place after midnight (was it at Sonnenallee…? Not sure anymore, so much layered histories intertwining). In short: reconnected to Berlin I remembered many things about a music feeling I had forgotten but that had been part of me. It all came back into me with the energy and velocity of some type of karmic 90’s boomerang within a framework of a seemingly renewed sense of love and appreciation. I’m born in The Hague and grew up closely to the Bunker Records scene. Jan Duivenvoorden (the musical brain behind Unit Moebius and one half of Leuk & Ko) was always a good friend of my father. We used to go on Holidays to Hungary together in the 90’s (I’m half Hungarian): me, my parents and Jan and his back-then girlfriend. An intimate video documentation exists of one of our trips that Jan made. I remember those days vividly.- Since my return to Berlin in recent times I had to rethink my life, my personal losses and I had to reconstruct and relive differentiated realities to understand where I am now. Luckily back home in Holland I gave it my best shot. I reconnected with Jan after many years, we played some tunes and spoke about life and today’s music world. I also managed to play a live set at the Braille Satellite Festival in Lithuania. A festival organized by my special friends from Berlin and Vilnius. Since a young kid I knew there was not going to be much else than this strange music world. Some people discover parties or something. I never did. It was like this all along because of the older people around me. My music blog Archaic Inventions hopefully testifies to this upbringing. Through the years Rubber has oddly brought together different recognizable musical energies including some of the people I happen to have been connected to. Synchronicities. I am grateful for the Rubber vision and the releases you guys put out! The newest track in this mix is from 2002. This is an ode to Berlin (Germany in general), The Hague and Budapest. Also hidden are some Latin American oddities. Different countries and their musical feeling, manifesting themselves in my memory. A flash of personal remembrance, my impressions of the 90s and 00s, yet now more adjusted to home-listening. This set was recorded at OCCII Amsterdam on May 1st. OCCII is my dearest home-base music venue in Amsterdam that we opened specially to record this mix during the corona pandemic. No CDJ hi-fidelity, but it-is-what-it-is quality, let it - happen, squat-style. Le producteur bordelais nous gratifie d'un sévère podcast bien burné de deux heures. L'homme derrière deux EPs sur le très croustillant label Land Of Dance ne mâche pas ses mots comme en témoignent les noms de ses sorties "Ghetto Slang" en 2013 et "Report into the riots" en 2015. Jann démontre un attachement tout particulier pour les trente-et-quelques années de brûlots électroniques tantôt punks, tantôt opiacés, tantôt déprimés, tantôt je-t'en-colle-une-et-danse-avec-ton-cuir, ici-c'est-pas-Ibiza-mec. En clair, pour résumer, nous voilà en présence de tendances sombres plutôt batcaves londoniennes ou squats beneluxiens, voire usines désaffectées du port de La Haye. L'énergumène porte une double-casquette puisqu'il favorise également l'activité psychique et physique de la scène bordelaise avec son ami Théorama (qui est d'ailleurs venu nous rendre visite l'année dernière) avec leurs soirées Basement Tales. Ce samedi 30 mai sur l'antenne de Radio Campus Paris et pour le Sandwich Triangle, un mix ultra exclusif de Drvg Cvltvre. En effet, Radio Campus Paris est sur tous les fronts en ce mois de mai, car en plus du Festival Brouillage, votre radio favorite est partenaire du ChaudardLand Festival, le festival organisé par Vagina Dentata du 23 avril au 6 mai.Pour cette émission, le collectif nous fait un immense cadeau, car nous diffuserons, ni plus ni moins, que le mix de Vincent Koreman aka Drvg Cvltvre lors de son passage pour l'ouverture du festival le 23 avril aux Caves Le Chapelais. Deux heures de techno sombre et envoutante aux accents dub, parfois même indus.Drvg Cvltvre, anciennement Ra-X est un producteur hollandais que les puristes chérissent, et les newbies adoubent. En effet, après plus de 20 ans de carrière, l'homme qui est derrière l'Incubate Festival à Tilbourg, à trainer ses pattes dans les scènes indus, punk, métal, a aussi fait parti des premiers émois de la scène squat/rave de la Westcoast of Holland dont le label Bunker Records s'est fait le chantre. Il a depuis eu de nombreux projets, comme sa dernière sortie sur Pinkman Records, et à aussi crée son label, New York Haunted, pour promouvoir les démos qu'il affectionne, envoyées depuis les quatre coins du globe.Son passage au ChaudardLand Festival a fait trembler les mûrs moites des caves, le VD crew ne s'y est pas trompé, en invitant l'un des plus fameux représentants de la scène hollandaise.Nul besoin de vous dire que le Sandwich Triangle n'est pas peu fier de pouvoir diffuser ce mix sous haute tension du kiffe.N'oubliez pas que le Festival Brouillage est dans les starting blocks et que le ChaudardLand continue ce week-end.   RELEASE DATE: end October!Pacific 231 is active since 1981, starting with a limited edition Psychic Euthanasia tape recorded in total stereo, Pacific 231 was involved into VP 231 for a few years alongside Vox Populi!. His  first LP "Unusual Perversions" was released in 1984. After some references, VP 231 was terminated following the double LP L'Enfer est Intime international compilation. Today, Pacific 231 is the co-producer on all his productions. From 1987 "Power Assume" second LP on Bunker Records in Canada to his most recent release ! This DCD Compendium* is a selective collection of early 80's Pacific 231 works.More than 48 hours of recordings coming from reel-to-reel tapes has been unveiled and carefully converted to recover two hours worth of material. The production has been split in two parts as the 1st CD is Studio and the 2nd is Live. As a matter of interest, for the "Unusual Perversions"  fans out there, a good percentage of the archives are circa 1984 and unreleased. * A compendium is a concise, yet comprehensive compilation of a body of knowledge. A compendium may summarize a larger work.
