The criminal Dublin collective known as the Gucci Gang appeared to be in ruins, only for a new leader to emerge – a man by the name of Mark Salmon. Clean cut and soft spoken, Salmon seemed an unlikely candidate for the helm, yet he has steadily built a violent and intimidating reputation in the pursuit of drug debt. Talent or talentless| No Behaviour Podcast Episode 302 | ft Flashy sillah, image god & protect jonny by Margs & Loons
Every leader hits this moment. You're in a great conversation with a recruit, and then they say it: "I'm also talking to another leader… someone with a big name." If you've ever felt like you were up against someone else's brand, you're not alone, and you're not powerless. In this episode of Recruiting Conversations, I walk you through how to stop playing defense and start leading with the one thing no other brand can replicate: your unique value. Episode Breakdown [00:00] Introduction – When you're up against a leader with more visibility, more experience, or a stronger reputation [01:00] Don't Let Comparison Kill Your Confidence – Your value isn't in your resume or following, it's in how you lead and what you believe [01:45] Branding Creates Awareness. Alignment Creates Movement – Just because someone is well known doesn't mean they're the right fit [02:30] You Don't Need to Be the Loudest. You Need to Be the Clearest – Recruits follow leaders who know where they're going [03:00] Start With Your Leadership DNA – What makes you different? How do people grow under your leadership? What do you care deeply about? [04:00] Brand Is the Public Expression of Your Private Values – When your content, conversations, and follow-up reflect the real you, you create trust [04:30] Ask a Better Question – Instead of "How do I compete?" ask "What kind of leader am I uniquely qualified to be, and how can I make that visible?" [05:00] Show Up With Integrity, Not Imitation – Tell your story, share your team culture, and let your vision be seen [06:00] Recruits Aren't Comparing Jobs. They're Comparing Futures – Paint a clear picture of where you're going and why it matters [06:45] Your Brand Isn't Flashy. It's Familiar – When the version of you people see online matches who they meet in real life, trust multiplies [07:10] Final Word – You don't need to chase someone else's reputation. Build your leadership presence. That's what truly attracts the right people Key Takeaways Your Leadership Style Is the Asset – Own it, articulate it, and build your brand around it You Don't Need More Volume. You Need More Clarity – Recruits follow leaders who know who they are and where they're going Brand Integrity > Brand Visibility – What builds trust is consistency between your message and your actions You Can't Fake Alignment – The right people will be drawn to your real voice, not someone else's strategy Stop Trying to Win by Comparison. Win Through Conviction – A clear, consistent brand that reflects who you are will outperform reputation alone In a crowded market, the loudest leader doesn't win. The clearest one does. Stop trying to compete with someone else's voice, start amplifying your own.
CTL Script/ Top Stories of January 9th Publish Date: January 9th Pre-Roll: From the Ingles Studio Welcome to the Award-Winning Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast Today is Friday, January 9th and Happy Birthday to Jimmy Page I’m Chris Culwell and here are the stories Cherokee is talking about, presented by Times Journal Fincher wins runoff for Cherokee County’s state House seat Farm Bureau seeks entries for High School Art Contest Georgia Republicans move to scrap state income tax by 2032 despite concerns Plus, Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on saturated fats We’ll have all this and more coming up on the Cherokee Tribune-Ledger Podcast, and if you’re looking for Community news, we encourage you to listen and subscribe! Commercial: INGLES 10 STORY 1: Fincher wins runoff for Cherokee County’s state House seat Republican Bill Fincher is poised to take the Georgia House District 23 seat, according to unofficial results. With all precincts reporting by 8:57 p.m. Tuesday, Fincher secured 71.38% of the vote—4,345 ballots—against Democrat Scott Sanders, who pulled in 1,742 votes. Fincher, a retired assistant DA and RV park owner, thanked supporters on Facebook: “To everyone who voted, knocked doors, prayed, or just believed—thank you. I’m humbled and ready to get to work.” Sanders, meanwhile, called his campaign a success, saying, “We hit every goal and laid the groundwork for 2026. No more uncontested elections.” The seat, left vacant after Rep. Mandi Ballinger’s passing, saw six candidates in the Dec. 9 special election. Fincher and Sanders advanced to the runoff. Turnout was low—just 13.75%—with most votes cast on Election Day. Results will be certified Friday after the elections board reviews one provisional ballot. STORY 2: Farm Bureau seeks entries for High School Art Contest Hey, high school artists—this one’s for you! The 2026 Georgia Farm Bureau High School Art Contest is here, and there’s cash on the line. The state winner gets $250, and 10 district winners snag $100 each. Not bad, right? It’s open to all 9th–12th graders (public, private, or homeschool). The rules? Create your masterpiece on 8.5 x 11-inch white paper using black, white, and gray. Use whatever works—charcoal, graphite, pen, chalk, mixed media, you name it. Just one entry per person, though. Deadline? Feb. 6. Drop your entry at the Cherokee County Farm Bureau office. Questions? Call 770-479-1481. Let’s see what you’ve got! STORY 3: Georgia Republicans move to scrap state income tax by 2032 despite concerns Cutting state income taxes sounds great, right? But here’s the catch: how do you replace billions in lost revenue without gutting schools, health care, or public safety—or jacking up other taxes? That’s the question Georgia Republicans are wrestling with as they push to eliminate the state’s personal income tax by 2032. Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, eyeing the governor’s mansion in 2026, is leading the charge, with State Sen. Blake Tillery backing him up. Their plan? Start by exempting the first $50,000 of income for singles ($100,000 for couples) in 2027. Sounds nice, but it’d cost the state $3.8 billion in year one alone. Tillery says they’ll cover it with surplus funds and borrowing for infrastructure, but critics—Democrats and even some Republicans—aren’t sold. For now, the debate rages on. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back. Break: INGLES 1 STORY 4: Prep Roundup: Hamby, Bass have record-setting nights Creekview’s Kailyn Hamby had a night to remember, shattering both the single-game and all-time scoring records as the Grizzlies rolled past Sprayberry, 62-35. Hamby dropped 33 points, grabbed six boards, and helped Creekview climb to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in Region 6AAAAA. They’re now neck-and-neck with River Ridge for the top spot. Next up? A Friday showdown at Pope. Meanwhile, River Ridge stayed unbeaten in region play, edging Pope 70-60 behind Finley Parker’s 28 points and Makayla Roberson’s 25. Elsewhere, North Paulding handled Etowah 56-46, and Sequoyah crushed Woodstock 78-50 with a dominant third-quarter run. Cherokee also outlasted Wheeler, 41-34. PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Will Rajecki. If you’ve followed Cherokee County football these past few years, you know the name. It’s only fitting he caps off his high school career as the 2025 Cherokee County Offensive Player of the Year. Records? He smashed them. Flashy stats? Oh, plenty. Rajecki was the heart of Sequoyah’s offense, leading the Chiefs to their first region title since 2003 and back-to-back state quarterfinals for the first time ever. The numbers are wild: 4,049 career rushing yards (a school record), 66 all-purpose touchdowns, and a jaw-dropping seven-touchdown game against Sprayberry that landed him third in state history. This season alone, he racked up 1,974 rushing yards, 30 touchdowns, and helped Sequoyah to a 35-14 record over his four varsity years. Now? He’s weighing offers from Arkansas, Oregon State, and Georgia after decommitting from Memphis. Wherever he lands, one thing’s clear: Rajecki’s story is just getting started. STORY 5: Cagle names appointee to Cherokee County T-SPLOST committee Cherokee County just named the first three members of its new T-SPLOST Citizens Review Committee, a group tasked with keeping an eye on how the county spends its transportation sales tax dollars. On Tuesday, Commissioner Will Cagle appointed Jack Norton, a Canton resident, Marine Corps vet, and small business owner with a background in transportation. Norton joins Ashley Holcomb, appointed by Chairman Harry Johnston, and Tom Teague, chosen by Commissioner Benny Carter. Two spots are still open, but Johnston isn’t worried. The 1% T-SPLOST, approved by voters in November, kicks off April 1 and is expected to bring in $445 million over six years. The committee’s job? Make sure the funds are spent responsibly and projects stay on track. They’ll review reports, offer recommendations, and keep the public informed—but they can’t change the project list. Meetings will be open to the public, with the 2026 schedule set at the first session. And now here is Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on saturated fats Commercial: We’ll have closing comments after this. Before you buy into 2026's latest stock picks, try a simple exercise—go back and see how last year's predictions actually performed. This episode takes aim at the casino-style investing culture pushed by discount brokers like Robinhood, where trading is gamified, dopamine is engineered, and high-frequency traders profit while individual investors lose. Flashy platforms, Formula One metaphors, and nonstop alerts aren't about helping you build wealth—they're about getting you to trade more.Real wealth isn't built on shortcuts, hot tips, or hype. It's built with discipline, time, effort, and a solid financial foundation. Ignore that truth, and Wall Street is more than happy to take advantage of you.
Calvin Darden Jr. was a smooth-talking hustler with a gift for forging documents, name-dropping celebrities, and jumping from one shady scheme to the next before anyone knew what hit them. His rise reveals deeper issues inside early-2000s Wall Street, where firms – eager to cash in on Black celebrities, athletes and entertainers – were desperate for “insiders” who could open doors. So when Calvin showed up bragging about his star-studded Rolodex, no one bothered to check the facts. By the time they realized his entire pitch was built on lies…Calvin was already gone.Be the first to know about Wondery's newest podcasts, curated recommendations, and more! In an era where consumers gather inspiration everywhere else, branded eCommerce sites face an existential crisis: prove your utility or become irrelevant. This episode examines how consumer expectations have shifted toward "get me what I want, when and how I want it," with 58% finding returns the most frustrating aspect of online shopping. We dissect why guest checkout remains a universal pain point and how brands can differentiate through seamless utility rather than flashy features. The Foundational Basis Matters MostKey takeaways:eCommerce sites have evolved from discovery engines to confirmation engines—customers arrive with pre-baked decisions seeking reassurance, not persuasion.Speed, clarity, and consistency are the new table stakes. Flashy features mean nothing if your site is slow, your checkout is clunky, or your shipping policy is unclear.Personalization should be engagement-based, not identity-based. Customers want relevance without creepiness—focus on their behavior in the moment, not invasive tracking.AI is an enabler, not the answer. Use it to understand cross-platform touchpoints and customer frustrations, not as a magic bullet for conversion. [00:04:06] "By the time they land on your site, they have pretty much created an idea of who you are, of what you offer, of what your product is. It's more on the choice confirmation bias...they don't want to be challenged. They just want to be reassured that they made the right decision." – Felipe Pose[00:14:00] "The role of the website has become more about clarity and reassurance, and not about communicating everything that you are, everything that you do, everything that you provide." – Felipe Pose[00:20:33] "I think that is one of the most powerful insights that we have gathered from many reports...they don't want to be really over targeted. They don't want identity based personalization. It's more based on what I want in this moment. What do I need from you? It's personalization based on engagement." – Felipe Pose[00:29:11] "If you are playing like a Jenga game...if you don't have a really strong foundation, if you don't have a site that is working correctly, a site that has some really slow pages, you have an unclear shipping policy...those are the things that will end up moving the needle the more." – Felipe Pose[00:32:46] "It's all about being prepared for the future and really understanding. Do I have everything I need today to be prepared for that? Because if you are on a really slow platform, something that is not scalable, you will not have a good experience today, even more so in 2026." – Felipe PoseAssociated Links:Check out Future Commerce on YouTubeCheck out Future Commerce+ for exclusive content and save on merch and printSubscribe to Insiders and The Senses to read more about what we are witnessing in the commerce worldListen to our other episodes of Future CommerceHave any questions or comments about the show? Send Krystal a Text Message.Ever wonder what really happens behind the scenes at industry conferences? I'm pulling back the curtain on my Podcast Movement 2025 experience, and honestly, some of it might surprise you. From the uncomfortable headphone situation to the talk that almost didn't happen, this episode is packed with the real, unfiltered truth about speaking at one of podcasting's biggest events. Here's the thing that blew my mind: after delivering my 20-minute talk on avoiding podcast burnout, a woman came up to me and said it was "the only practical talk" she'd heard all day. While other speakers were bragging about their 6,000% growth stats, I chose to focus on something way more important—how to actually sustain your content creation without burning out. And apparently, that's exactly what people desperately needed to hear. But the biggest plot twist? The most valuable moment of the entire conference wasn't even part of the official programming. This week on The Indo Daily we are looking back at some of our best investigative episodes from 2025 so far. Today's episode was first released on May 6th 2025; The rise and fall of Glen Ward – the gangster known as ‘Mr Flashy', has played out in less than a decade. Earlier this summer Ward was given a five and a half year sentence while his brother Eric was previously jailed for five years. Because of the threat to his safety, Ward has been held on a 23.5 hour lock-up, while the address of the prison also cannot be published. However, gardaí have no doubt that they have not seen the last of the 32-year-old criminal, who is due to be released from prison while still in his mid-30s. By mid-2016 Glen Ward took the reins of the crime group which became known as the ‘Gucci Gang' because of their taste for expensive clothing and jewellery. Ward was no exception to this and was given the nickname ‘Mr Flashy'. Host; Fionnán Sheahan, Guest; Robin Schiller See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
I'm making a prediction in this episode - feel free to hold me to it. I think life's quieter truths are making a comeback. Its nothing new but when life gets easy, comfortable, we lose sight of the ideals and values and things that truly matter to us. We forget to defend it, speak up about it and prioritize it. And thank god that when we forget the important things in life, the universe nudges us and eventually smacks us in the face if we still don't listen. There is a heaviness in the world but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Let me explain how and why. My hope is that this episode will alleviate some of the heaviness you might be carrying or feeling. Give it a listen! Let's unpack together! Sometimes all you need is a nudge and someone to ask the questions so you can find the answers for you. Send me a DM or check out my website: www.unpackingmyself.com

Entrepreneurs and doctors Anosh Ahmed and Sameer Suhail had matching cars, a matching taste for luxury watches and matching condos in Chicago's Trump Tower. The two even had similar backstories: They'd immigrated to the United States as children — Ahmed from Pakistan and Suhail from Jordan — and had gotten their medical degrees from overseas schools and built up images of themselves as entrepreneurs flush with cash. Now, they have another thing in common: They're fugitives — flashy ones.Host - Jon HansenReporter - Kelly Bauer Want to donate to our non-profit newsroom? CLICK HEREWho we areBlock Club Chicago is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit news organization dedicated to delivering reliable, relevant and nonpartisan coverage of Chicago's diverse neighborhoods. We believe all neighborhoods deserve to be covered in a meaningful way.We amplify positive stories, cover development and local school council meetings and serve as watchdogs in neighborhoods often ostracized by traditional news media.Ground-level coverageOur neighborhood-based reporters don't parachute in once to cover a story. They are in the neighborhoods they cover every day building relationships over time with neighbors. We believe this ground-level approach not only builds community but leads to a more accurate portrayal of a neighborhood.Stories that matter to you — every daySince our launch five years ago, we've published more than 25,000 stories from the neighborhoods, covered hundreds of community meetings and send daily and neighborhood newsletters to more than 130,000 Chicagoans. We've built this loyalty by proving to folks we are not only covering their neighborhoods, we are a part of them. Some of us have internalized the national media's narrative of a broken Chicago. We aim to change that by celebrating our neighborhoods and chronicling the resilience of the people who fight every day to make Chicago a better place for all.
