An all new Appreciation Month is upon us here at Cinema Degeneration and this time we are heading out into the Dystopian fueled nightmares of the Apocalypse with 'Wasteland Appreciation Month.' It's a month long celebration of all things Post-Apocalyptic so you can expect marauders, scavengers, mutants and mayhem, cool car chases, fights over water and fuel, and battles of epic proportions. Our 2nd episode is on a very obscure science fiction yarn with 1991's"MINDWARP" from director Steve Barnett. Starring genre heavyweights Bruce Campbell and Angus Scrimm and featuring impressive special effects by KNB Efx. It's an odd tale of the post-apocalyptic world of 2037 where our main character Judy rebels against an AI ruled utopia and is exiled to the wasteland for her efforts and is forced to battle with drifters, mutated cannibals and an evil overlord named The Seer. Do you dare to travel into a world where Ash from the Evil Dead and The Tall Man from Phantasm face off in a swordfight??? If that doesn't sound intriguing to you, then you've got to check your pulse because you may already be dead. Our deep dive discussion on this Fangoria produced film from the 90's is headed off by the Three Stooges of Cinema Degeneration... Eric Phillips (Sequel Too, Deja Vu), Korey Dawson (Without Warning) and Cameron Scott. You can expect digressions and rants on everything from the Evil Dead franchise, the late great and incomparable Danny Hicks, and the Lawnmower Man franchise to name but a few. October is upon us and we here at Cinema Degeneration thought it was time for another Appreciation Month topic!  We bring to you a celebration of 'Single Serving Slashers', slasher movies that never got a sequel.  There are plenty of chapters in the sagas of Chucky, Jason, and Freddy; however, we wanted to honor those often overlooked slashers that only graced the screen in one thrilling film.  For our 4th slice of murderous mayhem we continue the 80's theme with "INTRUDER" from 1989 directed by Scott Spiegel. This killer after hours flick set in a grocery store stars the late great Danny Hicks, with supporting roles filled out by Bruce Campbell, Sam and Ted Raimi, and Renee Estevez.  We have a lot of love for this flick and the incomparable Danny Hicks here and are ecstatic to finally be covering it.  Join hosts Cameron Scott and filmmaker Rebecca Rinehart (Tin Roof, The Embalmers) as they take a deep dive into this maniacal gem that proves working the night crew can be deadly.   "I couldn't let anyone get in the way... and... All of these costs are complicating business for farmers across the country while pushing American grocery bills up nearly 10 percent since last year. Danny Hicks manages his family's Sunnycrest Farm in Londonderry, New Hampshire. He joins the Rundown to explain how high prices for fuel, chemicals and fertilizers are making it difficult for him and fellow farmers to break even operating their business and why a recession poses an existential threat to the survival of smaller farms.   Last Saturday, an 18-year-old gunman opened fire in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, carrying out a racially motivated attack that killed ten people and left three others injured, most of which were Black. Another mass shooting took place in Laguna Woods, California. A Chinese citizen opened fire in that attack targeting Taiwanese people, killing one and wounding five others. These attacks are the most recent forms of racially motivated violence as a rise in hate crime incidents has been recorded so far in 2022. Scott Shepherd was once a member of the Ku Klux Klan.
