David Bean served less than 5 years as an Army JAG, but, as he explains in this podcast, the experiences he gained during while wearing the uniform have served him well as he has moved from "Big Law" to corporate law. David takes us through his year-long search for a job (which included many rejections), how former JAGs of all services were always willing to give him a hand or introduce him to their networks, and how corporate America values military veterans and the experiences, knowledge and skills JAGs bring. David also invites separating and retiring JAGs to contact him. David's LinkedIn profile can be found at https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-bean-0a4baa145/. This conversation was recorded August 3, 2022.
For the Video Edition, Please Click and Subscribe Here: https://youtu.be/O1Pn51B25WE Sixty years ago, author David Bean played a Jet named “Tiger” in the original West Side Story movie. In 2021, he made his “comeback” with a cameo role in Steven Spielberg's new West Side Story film. These events are the “bookends” of David's memorable new memoir, which one reviewer described as “brilliant, witty and lively”… ..... In his richly illustrated memoir, When You're a Jet, David Bean offers a wonderful potpourri of stories about his “extraordinary, ordinary life” ― a life that began in California, and brought him to stage and screen in New York, Hollywood and England. From tap dancing on the streets of Hollywood, to Broadway performances as a young teenager, David Bean grew up in the world of theatre. He appeared in "Peter Pan" on Broadway with Mary Martin and Cyril Ritchard. David and his wife Jean (also a talented dancer) performed over the years in numerous theatre and television shows together. Together, they also built a network of businesses with the passion of a couple on a mission. David currently lives with his wife of sixty years in upstate New York ― and they can often be spotted at the Jeanie Bean & Family Deli and Café in Clinton Corners, NY. As David would say, "For more details, read my book!" ... and now we can add: "And tune in to 'Richard Skipper Celebrates'"! For your 2021 West Side Story, post-Oscar discussion, attached are the two most relevant photos. ... and you'll find lots of relevant info on the Amazon page of When You're A Jet: www.amazon.com/When-Youre-West-Side-Story/dp/1883551218/

We hope you enjoy this weeks message by special guest David Bean from Compassion.
Our special guest for this episode has done some really interesting work into strategies that manage trading strategies based on their current performance. This can have a huge impact on performance results, but what does it actually mean, how does it work and how can we do it? Well, David Bean from Capstone Trading Systems is joining us to explain exactly that, plus he’s going to share a whole lot more, including: Patterns versus indicators, where they fit in a strategy and which works better, Why market regime filters may not be the best approach and an alternative solution that could be better for you, How to really dig deep into understanding how a strategy and market truly works and the benefits of knowing that, How to determine the best time to start trading a strategy and when to stop trading it, How to plan for, manage and even profit from strategy degradation, Plus much more. So, enough of the delays, lets jump right into my chat with David Bean.
One of my good friends joins me to chat about fitness, food, alcohol and all of the other shit along the way
This week, we go back to where the Adelaide Show really began, with Steve's introduction to radio in Murray Bridge in the 1980s; a story we'll call Radio 5MU Style. It was a fateful Sunday morning in 1985 when I headed off to Murray Bridge for a 10am job interview with David Bean and Phil McEvoy. Little did I know I would be on air that afternoon for a trial and then back the following Saturday with my first radio job. During the next seven and a half years, I got to meet some talented, hard-working people and some larrikins as well, and about a dozen of them have gathered tonight in North Adelaide to reunite with old colleagues and share war stories of the great mistress, radio. We discuss selling ads radio mishaps water skiing outside broadcasts very strange job interviews Also appearing in the Radio 5MU Style episode In the musical pilgrimage, we'll hear Made Of Stars because tonight's cast IS made of stars The SA Drink Of The Week is ...
