Welcome to my TED talk...jk- In this one I share an insight I've been playing with for a while. As someone who has often thought outside of the herd/box, I have had many unpopular opinions and understand the real heat that can come with that. With the current times I know many of us are battling with the discomforts of sharing different beliefs or opinions to others in our lives, even close friends. Here is a perspective that has helped me shift from judgement and defence to curiosity and understanding. I mentioned Julia Cameron in this episode also, if you are a creative, please do yourself the sweet favour of embarking on some of her work. Here are some of my fav books of hers. The Artists WayWalking in this WorldThe Prosperous HeartAlso come play on insta - https://www.instagram.com/heystaceyraeIm coming back after a long break from the socials, so lets play! im excited to hang with y'all. This week, these two UK-based Drag Race fans find themselves at a loss. Who are the comedy writers for Drag Race? Can they be replaced? Out of the gate, Tash suggests that the episode was a bit "balls". Harry, usually one to disagree, had to concur. In this episode, we have a great time dissecting exactly why it hit a rough note. This episode is the one you've been waiting for, and craving for. Teal is back, and he's ready to reveal his top ten films of the past decade. Along with Jim, the two tackle their lists, and share their experiences of seeing these films that stand above all others in the past ten years. First, Jim decided to test Teal's knowledge of films nominated for Best Picture and Director by the Academy for the decade of the 1960s. Teal said he wasn't an Oscar completionist, but Jim wanted to test that theory. Hear all the titles and figure out which movies you've seen, or still need to see. Then before revealing their top ten lists, Jim and Teal have their first paid sponsor. You won't want to miss who that is. And then on with the countdown. How many of Jim and Teal's choices have you seen? Do you agree? Disagree? Let them know at feedback@stuffweveseen.com
Well, well, well…. We meet again! Welcome back to another MCM episode where we show a band you never heard of...or maybe you love them? Or hate them? So many possibilities! Either way, Kevin shows off the band this week and he’s pumped to show Steve. The past couple “Kevin Episodes” were bands he was into when he was younger. The olden days, the golden times. This week he decided to pull out his list of bands and present one that was the latest edition to it.This band is opening a tour that Kevin really wants to go to and that is where the journey started. It took some time and even a little convincing but the more and more he listened to this band the more he liked it. Why wait to share the news then? Kevin compares this band to Thrice, Circa Survive, and The Dear Hunter (all of which were covered on this podcast at one time) Do you agree? Disagree? Let us know what you think. Another year of video game music on vinyl is coming to a close, and your Video Game Grooves hosts are convening once again for the 2nd Annual... we suppose we shall call them the "Groovy Awards" (or the "Groovies", as they are colloquially called far and wide)! But we are not alone. Along with Anthony, Paul, and Jeremy, you will be treated to Frederik Lauridsen from BlipBlop.net, who will preside over the proceedings. And our task is not small, dear friends. For we are choosing our favorite video game vinyl music releases of 2018! The best, the brightest, or perhaps just our completely biased personal picks! There were great releases by the various labels this year. Some we covered earlier, and some we have yet to feature, but we only have so much time. But that's not all! You also voted and made your collective voice heard. We listened, and we will also present your picks for your favorite releases. So without much more ado, please enjoy. Agree with our picks? Disagree? Let us know about it in the comments, or you can reach us all on Twitter! (You can find a complete list of picks in this hidden corner of our website... Keep those spoilers to yourself!) ... a little more ado... we figured we'd better take care of the news and releases. Welcome back to the Torah of Life podcast. Thanks for listening. Congratulations on making it through another High Holiday season! Now we've made it into 5779, and we begin the Torah with fresh eyes. The beginning chapters of the Torah describe the lushness of the garden and God's desire to create life. Adam and Eve come along and promptly get themselves kicked out of the garden for not following the rules. Why don't they do as God told them? On this episode I offer a slightly heretical view that maybe they were SUPPOSED to get kicked out of the garden, in order to set off on grand new adventures and learn what it means to be human. Do you agree? Disagree? Let me know! As mentioned on the podcast, I'd love to help you get from where you are to where you want to be. If you're looking for practical coaching techniques, spiritual wisdom, and a healthy dose of humor to inspire you to achieve new heights, please let me know and we can see if working together might be a good fit. I know that 5779 has great things in store, if we're brave enough to claim them. Email me for a free, no strings attached consultation where we can begin helping you create the life you've wanted and get closer to your goals. Thanks for listening to the Torah of Life podcast, your home for transformational wisdom from a Jewish lens. Like what you hear? Please share the episode with your friends, subscribe to the show and leave us a rating and review on iTunes, or your favorite podcast platform. Have something to say about what you heard today? Great! Be in touch at rabbiilan@torahoflife.com I'll be back again soon with the next episode. Many blessings, and Shabbat Shalom, Rabbi Ilan
