This episode was created in Bristol, UK. I finally made the move from Switzerland. It's been ten years that I got this intention. Took me that long to deal with my emotions and gain the courage to take the leap. I hope there won’t be any problem for me to stay here with that Brexit thing, cause this country is probably the best fit for my music. About the show, we got three tracks from last Mac Miller posthumous album. I can get emotional when I listen to him, thinking that he’s gone so soon. Plus he went away on my birthday. Feeling connected. Tycho plays as the second track, his last release being the first music I was listening to on my headphones in UK. I remember walking at night to the London underground at the end of the Northern line, under a light rain. I love this dreamy feeling when walking around a new place, not knowing at all what’s around the corner of the street. Michael Kiwanuka’s last eponymous album (for which he just used his last name) is what I was listening last night while doing grocery. That's a fantastic release. Elsa Hewitt returns in the show with her “experimental dream-pop” and the track Mermaid. I’m in love with her sound. I’m looking forward to see her live soon around here, and attend to the CDR event in London where she’ll be the guest in April for an artsist talk + production workshop. Towards the end, you’ll hear a track of mine that I did quickly on January 24, using a free sample pack. I just edited a few things to play it in the show to my better taste. The last two tracks are unreleased bits from my man Nectvr that might very well be signed to my own label Kamînar Records. You want more of this? Become a patron and get access to my mix archives where you can download everything in high quality (MP3 320kbps) and get the full timestamped tracklisting. There's not just Eclectic Soul, but also other mix series I've been putting out on Mixcloud. In total there's more than 100 mixes waiting for you, always done with the same care. You'll also be able to enjoy my full discography and my Demos & Unreleased Collection with some tracks that won't ever be public. This week, born in Johannesburg and raised in Doncaster, UK, the multi-talented, young, and much hyped musician Skinny Pelembe is joined by: Mo Wax founder, UNKLE leader, and an artist who’s collaborated with everybody from Thom Yorke to Massive Attack, James Lavelle; on the other side of the sofa sits avant-garde electronic artist Elsa Hewitt who has been enjoying much success this year; and rounding off the group is a singer of Ethiopian heritage and leader of the band Hejira, Rahel Debebe Dessalegne. Led by Skinny, they’ll be discussing stealing from their heroes, whether or not they dance to the music whilst they make it, and whether video games have inspired what they do.
