The hour opens with Chris Russell reacting to the NFL clearing Stefon Diggs of any personal conduct violation, followed by a deeper discussion on how the Commanders are approaching roster building by emphasizing wide receiver development rather than relying solely on external additions. Chris breaks down what that strategy means for Jayden Daniels and the long-term offensive vision in Washington. The conversation then shifts to Chris analyzing Adam Peters' overall plan to support Daniels, focusing on how the Commanders are structuring their roster to maximize the young quarterback's growth and stability heading into the season.
An approved variation to Clare's County Development Plan is being hailed as a win for the county. The move sees an additional 250 acres of land zoned for housing countywide, while a further 350 acres of strategic residential reserve sites have been unlocked for immediate use. Questions have been raised over whether this will make any difference given Clare's serious wastewater deficits, with 50 towns and villages still without a sewerage connection. Clare FM's Daragh Dolan has been speaking to Planning Consultant and Clonlara Independent Councillor Michael Begley on the matter, but firstly, Kilmurry Fianna Fáil Cllr Alan O'Callaghan. Interview with Richard Young, President & CEO of i-80 Gold Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/i-80-gold-tsxiau-from-50k-to-600k-oz-annually-in-nevada-miners-six-year-transformation-8964Recording date: 13th February 2026i-80 Gold has completed a $500 million non-dilutive financing package that eliminates a longstanding capital structure overhang and provides the certainty required to advance its three-phase Nevada development plan. The transaction, expected to close by the end of Q1 2026, positions the company to execute across multiple underground mining projects without shareholder dilution. The financing comprises two equal $250 million tranches. Franco-Nevada contributed the first portion through a royalty structure beginning at 1.5% across the portfolio through 2030, escalating to 3% from 2031 onward as production scales. The second tranche consists of a prepaid facility with National Bank and Macquarie Bank, with i-80 Gold pre-selling approximately 40,000 ounces at a net realized price of $3,750 per ounce over a 30-month delivery period.CEO Richard Young emphasized the competitive dynamics that shaped favorable terms, noting the company received five term sheets and three committed offers. This competition proved crucial for securing covenant flexibility rather than pricing optimization, including provisions for working capital facilities and operational adaptability during the production ramp. The financing enables immediate strategic priorities across the portfolio. Granite Creek Underground, currently the company's sole operating mine, processes ore through third-party toll milling that costs $1,000-1,500 per ounce in margin leakage. The Lone Tree autoclave refurbishment, targeted for completion by end of 2027, will eliminate this dependency and capture those margins internally as the second underground mine ramps production through 2026.Most significantly, the package accelerates Mineral Point, the flagship asset and largest resource base. Management allocated $50 million specifically for 2026 resource expansion, pre-feasibility engineering, and initial permitting—work previously deferred pending financing certainty. Young stated that Mineral Point represents the company's most valuable asset, making earlier production timing critical for shareholder value. At current gold prices above $5,000 per ounce, management projects full funding across all three development phases without equity issuance, with potential incremental debt limited to a lower-cost revolving facility. Key 2026-2027 milestones include feasibility studies for Granite Creek and Cove, Archimedes Phase 4 results, and Mineral Point pre-feasibility work.View i-80 Gold's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/i-80-goldSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Auckland Council is moving to allocate up to two million new homes in the coming decades. The council's Policy and Planning Committee voted 18-5 to pass the plan, which will see more housing near transport hubs and less in natural hazard zones. Councillor Maurice Williamson has compared it as a choice between a firing squad and lethal injection. He told Mike Hosking he's a fan of intensifying along rail corridors and busways, but it doesn't make sense to go into suburban streets and force the building of “ghastly pieces of junk” when they aren't needed. Williamson says there needed to be more consultation and negotiation around what the upper figure of builds would be. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

There's a call for the Government to provide clarity as to whether a new Model three hospital in the Midwest will be included in the National Development Plan. The revised plan gives the Department of Health an allocation of €9 billion for 2026 to 2030 but a list of projects to be supported isn't expected to be finalised for several months. The findings of HIQA's review of emergency capacity in this region are due in September and hopes for a new emergency department were dealt a significant blow in May when HSE MidWest made a submission that didn't recommend such a facility. Scariff-based Independent MEP Michael McNamara believes residents of Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary deserve a straight answer on the matter.
This week the Government outlined spending of €200 billion on a National Development Plan stretching over the next decade. In parallel it also set out its stall for this year's budget, signalling a spending and tax package of €9.5 billion. Joining host Ciarán Hancock in studio to dissect these spending plans and tax cuts against a backdrop of a potential trade war between the US and the EU were Ellen Coyne, political correspondent of The Irish Times, Ferga Kane, EY Ireland's strategy and transactions team lead, and Cliff Taylor of The Irish Times. They tease out the headline numbers in the National Development Plan, the areas being targeted over the next five years, and the likely impact on future foreign investment.Produced by John Casey with JJ Vernon on sound. Jerry spoke to Minister for Children Norma Foley about the National Development Plan and the Government’s summer economic statement.
The government has signed off on a 112-billion-euro capital investment package out to the end of the decade. A further 100 billion is being planned for the years 2030 to 2035. The National Development Plan review injects further cash from the Apple Tax and AIB share sales. 24 billion of that money will be put into transport, including public transport. While 36 billion euro is being provided to 2030 for housing - not including investment in water. Tánaiste Simon Harris says the money will contribute to huge infrastructure improvements. To discuss this further, Alan Morrissey was joined by Garry Miley, Ogonnelloe-based Architect and Colmán Ó Raghallaigh, West On Track.
The Government is being urged to ramp up investment in the road network of rural parts of Clare. It comes as details have been revealed of the State's plans to invest €112 billion in infrastructure over the next five years. As part of the revised National Development Plan, housing is to receive an investment of €36 billion while transport will be supported to the tune of €24 billion - €2 billion of which will go towards Dublin's Metrolink. O'Callaghan's Mills native and Secretary of the Clare branch of the Irish Creamery and Milk Suppliers Association, Martin McMahon, claims the powers that be have a job of work to do to prove the west of Ireland isn't being forgotten about.
Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Jack Chambers joins The Last Word to discuss the Government's revised National Development Plan which aims to address the country's gaps in housing, utilities infrastructure, transport and more.Catch the full conversation by pressing the 'Play' button on this page!
A Clare TD says the county is in urgent need of large-scale funding under the National Development Plan to prevent the death of rural Clare communities. A further €30 billion is to be be added to the revised plan, taking the total to €100 billion between 2026 and 2030. The amounts allocated to each department and utility will be announced later today while a full list of all projects set to receive funding is not expected for a number of months. Bodyke Fine Gael TD Joe Cooney says business closures and population decline will continue in rural areas if infrastructural issues aren't addressed.
