Ce 8 juin, Marjorie Hache convoque dans RTL2 Pop-Rock Station Depeche Mode, The Black Keys, Janis Joplin, Iron Maiden, Linkin Park, Rage Against The Machine, Joan Jett et The Libertines. On this episode Phillip was joined once again by Sam Panico, the host of B and S about Movies Podcast and the co-host of Drive In Asylum on YouTube and Facebook. Phillip starts the show by giving the general information about the movie. After that Phillip and Sam talk about The Beyond as well as several other things. It always gets this way when Phillip and Sam get together. In between all this Phillip reads Listener' Opinions from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Later on they talk about whether they noticed anything from The Beyond that Tarantino might have liked or used in a film. They individually rate the movie. Then they answer whether they would buy this movie, rent it, or find for free. Phillip then gives his Phil's Film Favorite of the Week, and then Sam gives his recommendation; The Libertine (1968). It's then time for Phillip to promote next week's show when he will be by himself to talk about 1986's Dead End Drive-In.Sam's Website: https://bandsaboutmovies.com/Sam's Podcast B and S about Movies is available wherever you get your podcasts.Bill and Sam's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@GroovyDoom

The Libertines were at the vanguard of the early 2000s garage rock revival. Fronted by friends Pete Doherty and Carl Barat, the band was seen by the UK press as the next in a long line of groups animated by combustible and competitive partnerships, such as the Beatles, Oasis, and the Kinks. But despite their success, the Libertines would be plagued by internal conflicts, erratic behavior, and copious drug use. Eventually, Pete would be on the outs, drifting through London's drug scene before finding himself in prison. This episode was originally published on September 26, 2024. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for March 7, 2026 is: libertine LIB-er-teen noun A libertine is in broad terms a person who is unrestrained by convention or morality. More narrowly, the word describes someone who leads an immoral life. // The legend of Don Juan depicts him as a playboy and libertine. See the entry > Examples: "As horrifying as some of the sins of Victorian scholarship may have been, it would have been anathema to these students of classical philosophy to simply throw out Plato. But that's what some of their modern inheritors have tried to do. … It's worth noting that we might not have Plato's work at all, were it not carefully studied and preserved by the Islamic scholars (hardly libertines themselves) of the medieval period." — R. Bruce Anderson, The Ledger (Lakeland, Florida), 1 Feb. 2026 Did you know? "I only ask to be free," says Mr. Skimpole in Charles Dickens' Bleak House. His words would undoubtedly have appealed to the world's first libertines. The word libertine comes from the Latin lībertīnus, a word used in early writings of Roman antiquity to describe a formerly enslaved person who had been set free (the Roman term for an emancipated person was the Latin lībertus). Middle English speakers used libertine to refer to a freedman, but by the late 1500s its meaning was extended to freethinkers, both religious and secular, and it later came to imply that an individual was a little too unrestrained, especially in moral affairs. The likely Latin root of libertine is līber, the ultimate source of our word liberty.
"Fighting Fit" For a little over a delicious decade the London band Gene put out four glorious albums. And since we're here and we have time, let me name them: Olympian, Drawn To The Deep End, Revelations and Libertine. From 1993 to 2004, the band's resume just kept building: They were on the cover of Melody Maker and the NME the latter of who also gave them the inaugural BRAT award for Best New Band, they headlined the Reading Festival, played Glastonbury, toured Europe, Japan and the U.S., logged top twenty singles, put out a killer live album called Rising For Sunset, sold hundreds of thousands of albums and played a legendary sold-out show with a full orchestra at London's Albert Hall. Behind the Welsh- born Martin Rossiter, Gene's crunchy blast of melodic muscle and poetic pounce made them one of the most unforgettable bands around but all good things come to an end and by 2004, the band called it a day. A one-off reunion in 2008 was the only blip on the Gene radar until now. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Olympian, in October of 2025 all four original members of Gene reconvened at the Apolo in London and blew the place apart and sounding positively ageless. What happened next? Well, fans wanted more so more was given in the form of 2026 March dates in Nottingham, Glasgow, Bristol, Dublin and Manchester. www.geneoffical.com (http://www.geneoffical.com) www.bombshellradio.com www.stereoembersmagazine.com (http://www.stereoembersmagazine.com) www.alexgreenbooks.com (http://www.alexgreenbooks.com) Instagram + Bluesky: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

We started our podcast five years ago because we wanted to talk about the things we're into. By now you know what they are: travel, style, sports (and airline lounges!) and the details that make those things better. Oh, and we wanted to have a good time. That's the same reason we started a newspaper: The Print Edition. We like the idea of escaping the screen and the algorithm and getting back in print. Making a newspaper allowed us to work with our talented friends, like designer John Segal, and some of our favorite writers, Rosecrans Baldwin, Darrell Hartman, Hannah Elliott, Ruaridh Nicoll and Nathan King. We talked to Mickey Drexler, Matt Hranek, Jake Lacy and Tom McGuane. That's a lot of good people who agreed to be part of a shoestring operation. We thought that the release of our newspaper was worth getting together and making a little video. So we planned the way only we can: Michael took a redeye the night before and Coggins drank a bottle of wine. We gave hair and makeup the day off. This was filmed at Libertine, our beloved restaurant in the West Village. Thanks to Cody who let us take over the dining room and Trent for all his help. We'll still be coming at you as podcast classic, but hope you like this change of pace. And you can order your copy of The Print Edition below. See you at the newsstand, David & Michael This is a public episode. If you'd like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit www.acl.news/subscribe
Ce 18 novembre, Marjorie Hache ouvre Pop-Rock Station avec The Charlatans avant de faire monter l'intensité avec Bob Marley et l'anniversaire de Kim Wilde, célébrée avec "Kids in America". La soirée file ensuite vers l'énergie garage de The Hives, puis retrouve The Zombies et "Time Of The Season". Neo Paris War!!" signé Rise Of The North Star, illustré par "Back To Basic". This episode of Let Us Be Idiots can be summarized as follows: it begins with three different segments featuring Matteo Pascale and John LoCicero, also known as Big Chief. The firsttwo segments are all about roasting and busting President Donald Trump's balls on some of the strangest recent debacles. The third segment orbits around the New York City Mayoral Republican Candidate, Curtis Sliwa. After presenting thecollected segments with John LoCicero, also known as Big Chief, Matteo Pascale provides the full context and additional information for an audio clip taken from a video of a homeless man who loudly and aggressively confronted Mike Kramer and Matteo Pascale. The episode then closes out with a “filthy” dialogue between Mike Recine and the host of Let Us Be Idiots, Matteo Pascale. ***Outro Rap lyrics were written and performed by @jdange23 and the beat was produced by Matteo Pascale.***All other content can be found on the website:https://www.crooklyncomedy.com/Crooklyn Comedy and Let Us Be Idiots Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/user?u=66644629Social media links:Main Twitter: https://twitter.com/MatteoPascaleCrooklyn Comedy Twitter: https://twitter.com/CrooklynComedyMain Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/comedianmatteopascale/Crooklyn Comedy Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crooklyncomedy/Let Us Be Idiots Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/letusbeidiots/Matteo Pascale's Website:https://www.crooklyncomedy.com/
Three actors, one enigmatic play, and surprising insights into collaboration, craft, and curiosity What can three actors teach you about memory, silence, and creativity? In this episode of Your Creative Mind, I sit down with Jaqui Shiel, Mark Cosby, and Lori Kee, three accomplished performers who brought Harold Pinter's Old Times to life in a Zoom performance in Karen Kohlhaas' directing class that I took. Their stories offer practical strategies you can apply to your own communication, whether you're leading a team, teaching a class, or crafting your next project. If you want fresh insight into acting craft, collaboration, and the artistry of silence, this conversation will spark new ideas and confidence in your own creative journey. In Episode #247 of the XS Noize Podcast, host Mark Millar is joined by Finn O'Brien — frontman of London via Bristol indie band The Jacques — to discuss the band's powerful new album Make Repetition. The Jacques' story is one of resilience, tragedy, and survival. Formed as teenagers, they rose quickly with early festival slots and a Libertines support show at Hyde Park, before facing devastating setbacks — including the loss of bandmate Will Hicks and Finn's own battle with addiction. Now, with Make Repetition!, produced by Dan Swift, Jules Apollinaire, and Gordon Raphael, the band have emerged with their strongest, most confident work to date. In this episode, Finn talks about the stories behind songs like “Nothing Amazing” and “Via Dolorosa,” how he ended up making John Lydon cry while touring with PiL, and what really happened when the band's gear was stolen by their tour manager. He also reflects on music as a vital lifeline, the resilience that has carried The Jacques forward, and why their next record might be a concept album. Does anxiety or darkness drive you to create? Is creativity the ultimate catharsis? For musician Pete Doherty making art has, at times, been a matter of survival. In this chat with Fearne, Pete explains why taking drugs was less about trying to escape, and more about what he was trying to find. Now he's stopped taking drugs, how does he unlock and express his creativity differently? Pete also confirms that ‘addict' is the right word to describe his behaviour, but that our attitude towards addiction needs to change. Fearne and Pete catch up about the early days of The Libertines, and what Pete labels as ‘the chaos and risk of youth'. He describes how he was sold on the enticing mythologies of a rock n roll lifestyle, but is now much more comfortable living quietly in rural France with his family and dogs. Gary discusses revolutionary practices of the Left (like firebombing Teslas) and how nothing has changed in their tactics (the very ones they claim to fear from the Right). Christians, like others, are called to be revolutionaries, but unlike others, they have a divine example of being non-violent in advancing their revolutionary faith.
