In this episode, Camden Bucey sits down with Carlton Wynne and Marc Harrington at the Reformation and Worship Conference hosted by Midway PCA. Together they reflect on the beauty and theological significance of Reformed worship—where form and content work together to glorify God. The conversation explores how music shapes the soul, why pastors must think theologically about song selection, and how the unity and maturity of the church depend on maintaining the fixed truth of Scripture. From discussions of Scott Aniol's lecture on music that accords with sound doctrine to Wynne's reflections on doctrinal immutability, the episode reminds us that worship is not mere performance—it's the embodied response of the redeemed to the unchanging God. The conversation concludes with reflections on confessional fidelity, the training of pastors, and the importance of cultivating a love for Reformed unity grounded in truth. Decode The Left with Karlyn Borysenko is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. On this week's Socialism Saturday I decided to go straight to the source — the Revolutionary Communists of America, or RCA — and watch one of their new recruitment videos. This is the group behind those Karl Marx “Are You a Communist?” stickers with the QR codes you see plastered all over college campuses. I've seen them myself. If you scan the code, it takes you to a form that plugs you right into their recruiting network. They claim that since the semester began, 2,500 new people have signed up to join — that's just in the last month. Think about that: 2,500 new communists in thirty days, and they're in at least 30 organized cities with members in every state. They're focusing on campuses, pride events, and even queer bookstores — I actually stole one of their posters when I was undercover in New York. They're not shy. They wave hammer-and-sickle flags, hand out newspapers, and run weekend “Marxist schools” where people literally pay hundreds of dollars to learn revolutionary theory. One thing that really stood out: these are old-school Marxists, not the “queer Marxism” you see in progressive spaces. They explicitly reject identity politics — to them, that's liberal manipulation. They see capitalism itself as the root of all oppression and want to abolish identity categories altogether. That's what separates them from Democrats and the modern left — they view liberals and progressives as part of the problem, not allies. They also explained exactly how they're funded — no Soros, no NGOs, no CCP. They're completely self-funded through dues and event tickets. Every member pays one day's wage per month, and that's how they sustain themselves. That's critical to understand because it means there's no “head of the snake” to cut off. They're building a bottom-up revolutionary network.During the stream, I walked through clips from their organizers in Dallas, Chicago, and Minneapolis talking about recruitment. They're tabling three days a week, postering campuses, and holding events like “Why You Should Be a Communist.” These aren't kids playing pretend — they're disciplined, methodical, and openly discussing how to build a vanguard party ready for revolution. And I'll be honest — I said it flat out on air — I think they're going to win. Maybe not next year, but in the next decade or two, if things keep trending this way. Because the right isn't even paying attention. Trump's people aren't paying attention. These groups are organizing openly, growing every month, and nobody's doing a damn thing to counter it.That's why I do Decode the Left and Socialism Saturday. We listen to their real words, their real strategies, not filtered through conservative media spin. If you want to understand what's actually happening — not just what Fox News says — you have to go straight to the source.Decode The Left with Karlyn Borysenko is a reader-supported publication. On July 10, 1945, ten new members are inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Among them are catcher Roger Bresnahan, outfielder Hugh Duffy, and shortstop Hughie Jennings.Roger Bresnanhan is generally regarded as the most famous catcher of the deadball era. In a time when catchers rarely batted higher than 8th, Bresnahan was a leadoff hitter due to his high on base percentage and speed that belied his 200 pound frame. He broke into the majors as a pitcher, throwing a six hit shutout in his first appearance but had the ability to play every other position. Perhaps his most notable contributions to the game were in the development of protective equipment. Bresnahan is credited for the development of the batting helmet, shin guards for catchers, and improving the safety of the catcher's mask. Despite initial ridicule and protest, these safety measures all caught on and are standard equipment in today's game.Hughie Jennings, for his career stole 359 bases, walked 347 times, and holds the record for number of times hit by a pitch at 287. Each of these totaling more than his meager strikeout total of 233. Hugh Duffy, holds the single season record with a .438 batting average. In 1894, he amassed 234 hits in only 124 games, while playing for the Boston Beaneaters. Duffy collected 50 doubles and 18 homeruns during that amazing season! On July 10, 1934, in one of the most memorable All-Star Game performances ever, Carl Hubbell strikes out five consecutive future Hall of Famers. Hubbell fanned Ruth, Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, and Joe Cronin in that game won by the American League, 9-7. Hubbell himself gained entry to the Hall in 1947.In 1936, at Forbes Field, Chuck Klein hits 4 home runs in one game, including the tie-breaker in the tenth, helping the Phillies defeat the Pirates, 9-6. The Indianapolis, Indiana native barely misses hitting an additional homer in the second when right fielder Paul Waner catches his drive against the wall. At 36, Klein is the oldest player ever to hit four homers in a game, and the first National Leaguer in the 20th century to do so.On July 10, 1982, Larry Parrish of the Texas Rangers tied a major league record by clubbing his third grand slam within the span of a week. Parrish's latest slam lifted the Rangers to a 6-5 win over the Detroit Tigers. In 1968, Detroit's Jim Northrup also hit three grand slams in a week.Historical Recap performed by:Robyn Newton from - Robyn SaysThis Day In Baseball is Sponsored by - www.vintagebaseballreflections.com - Join the membership today and listen to 50 years of baseball history told to you by the folks who were there! Just five months after being sworn in as president, Donald Trump has embroiled the U.S. in a shooting war in the Middle East, a trade war with our allies and neighbors, and a culture war with those who oppose his policies. Trump has deployed the National Guard and the U.S. Marines into the streets of a major American city over the objections of a mayor and a governor, and unleashed masked agents to snatch unsuspecting immigrants off the streets and ship them off to foreign prisons. This seemed like a good moment to check in with Rep. Becca Balint. Balint, D-Vt., was elected to Congress from Vermont in 2022 and is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and the Budget Committee. She serves on the Congressional Progressive Caucus as Vice Chair for New Members and as a Co-Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus. She spoke to me on Tuesday, June 24, from her congressional office in Washington D.C.

One of our Deacons, Brother Rick, teaches the second lesson of our New Members / Get to know Legacy material. In this lesson we go over what it means to be a Reformed Baptist. How is that different from other kinds of Baptist, and while we are at it, what makes a Baptist. We tackle the issue by looking at some history, and what we call the 3 C's: Confessional, Covenantal, Calvinistic.

You've heard of the points guy, but this is the gift card guy, or as Larry Rubin calls himself, the gift card guru. This recording is aimed at marketing for both of our client subsets, private members clubs and boutique hotels. Usage, Revenue Streams, Departments Inspected And Enhanced Through gift cards, clubs and hotels can track usage of new and returning members and guests when given free money or points. Marketers can introduce a club or a hotel property at really no cost if the gift card is combined with a payment toward membership - many clubs already give statement credits to members who bring in new members, there's no difference with a gift card. Or a hotel, during a light time of year, can use gift cards to offer free rooms, adventures or services. All would add more revenue and find business they wouldn't have had otherwise. Rubin, who is president of SwipeIt.com, has been doing this for decades and now sees a new trend in which you incentivize the use of a gift card by giving another gift card upon arrival. Imagine getting a prospective member to the club through a gift card with funds toward a summer membership. Upon presentation and use of that card, that guest receives two free rounds of golf - no cart or caddie fees. An incentive upon an incentive. Pickleball, Hard To Monetize, Can Be A Revenue Stream With Gift Cards In what is fast becoming a digital domain, private members clubs, boutique hotels and resorts are turning toward digital wallets. Rubin uses as an example a new pickleball facility within a retail mall. Through gift cards available throughout the mall, possible new members were enticed to the restaurant and retail store within the pickleball facility, adding revenue. And here's a statistic we all know is true through our own use of gift cards: 90 percent of gift card users spend more than the value of the gift card. That's found money for a hotel restaurant, private club food and beverage outlet. or golf or tennis pro shop. Clubs are revaluating their marketing strategies. Through membership apps, newsletters, revamped websites and text and push communications, clubs should perhaps look at building already existing revenue streams, or possibly finding new ones, through the use of gift cards. Here's why, and just how to do it - right here on the BeyondTheBaselines.com podcast.
