London is observing an interesting spell within which an array of new disc jockeys and producers are emerging from beneath the underground. Iona is a familiar face, with great hair to go alongside. For a long time she has grafted whilst establishing an intricate array of taste within electronic music and its really great to see her reaping the benefits of her hard work. As a regular at Field Maneuvers, Rye Wax and more she has cemented herself within the core musical community of the city and has upped the stakes. Her musical tastes span the realms of house, disco, techno and beyond as she enters the ring no holds barred. We are delighted to invite her to feature as part of our 'shine a light on' series, one to watch, no doubt. @iona-noise

Being a DJ is what matters most to Carl, making the dance floor interesting whilst injecting personality into his sets with every record played. Anybody that has heard Carl play will confirm his sets are full of weird, wonderful, rare and unheard gems ranging right across House, Techno, Electro, Prog, Acid and everything else in-between. Carl keeps himself in good company playing regularly with Jane Fitz wether it be one of there back to back sessions or as Normal Behaviour along with John Hanley. Carl has promoted and held residencies at parties such as Northern Purpose, Collective Minds(Birmingham) and Sub:System (London), as well as hosting his own parties at Chalet club in Berlin. Pickle Factory, Club der Visionaere, Grelle Forelle, Field Maneuvers and Nightmoves are amongst the many places he’s played across the UK and around Europe. Carl created his own record label called, Animals On Psychedelics which he uses as an outlet to showcase music created by his friends and favourite producers. The second record produced by Miro SundayMusiq released in 2017 sold out in only a few weeks.

This summer-fresh installment of the Avenue Red Podcast series comes from London-based DJ, producer and label-owner Ben Parkinson, AKA Ben Boe to those in the Knoe! His Boe Recordings label has gathered some seriously high-grade moss since it's inception back in 2008 with a juggernaught discography of releases from heavy-hitters and underground talents including Burnski; KiNK; Leif; Iron Curtis; Kris Wadsworth and Nick Lawson to select a few. There is a new release coming from Anaxander on 11th August on limited 12" vinyl called Travelogues EP, which also features a remix from Ben himself. We advise keeping a diary entry for that! Last year Ben also opened a secondary tube line with a sub-label called For Those That Knoe - in Ben's own words... "For Those That Knoe is a House and Techno label from the UK focusing on under the radar tracks recorded by unsung heroes, ripped from dusty DATs and lovingly re-mastered and pressed onto vinyl for like-minded people and music collectors alike". Just the kind of project that Avenue Red has got full support for. You can catch Ben playing at the intimate and rather intriguing Field Maneuvers festival at the end of August that is held "in a beautiful riverside location 60 minutes outside of London" (unspecified). But as a precursor to that, dive into this mix from the man himself. An all-vinyl mix that is a diverse and nutritious stew of house, techno and electro that will leave even the most hungry and connoisseur-like music heads out there feeling fulfilled and coming back for seconds and thirds, no doubt!
