Hello Decisive Series Subscribers,Roberto Ingram your podcast host and producer here, I'm thrilled to bring you yet another insightful conversation with a remarkable artist shaping the landscape of electronic music. Today, we have the privilege of delving into the world of Jan Kincl, a Croatian DJ, record producer, remixer, engineer, and live performer whose work has captured the attention and admiration of audiences worldwide. International media placed Jan among "the most interesting voices coming from the region", and his debut album, a deeply jazz-informed house record "In Plain Sight" recorded with a French keyboard player Regis Kattie, got described as “one of the most significant pieces of regional contemporary dance music” with support from Laurent Garnier, Derrick Carter, Alton Miller, Jazzanova, Volcov, Tony Humphries, Lefto, Claude Young, Jimpster, DJ Bone, Mark Grusane, Kai Alcé and many more.“An amazingly beautiful album! Very deep.” - Claude Young“The funk's all over this project!” - Kai Alcé“Superb deepness!” - Laurent GarnierBorn and raised in Zagreb, Jan is a product of the late 90s clubbing scene emerging in Croatia. A then-teenager, who embraced the music of the Motor City as a teacher has grown into a recognizable presence in the regional music life. Today, Jan is equally recognized for the music crafted in his Cycle studio, and life-long dedication to the art of DJing. Influenced equally by jazz and hi-tech jazz, he is devoted to a more traditional way of presenting music and feels more aligned with artists not limited by genres or eras. New, old, fast, slow, soulful, or rough. For Jan, the juxtaposition of all this is what DJing is about.Even though the majority of his work is dance music, this broad approach allowed him to operate in different scenes. Remix for a Brazilian legend Ivan Mamão Conti (Azymuth) on the legendary Far Out Recordings, remixes for a German jazz-funk band Key Elements on Jazzanova's Sonar Kollektiv label, a solo 12” under CVER alias on Oye Black Label, and a track on Deep Inspiration Show Records' ‘Family Things Volume 1' all came out in a period of a single year. The last project to hit 2020, though, were reinterpretations of Radojka Sverko's ‘Kud Plovi Ovaj Brod', a special 50th-anniversary re-release of a 1970 chanson classic which holds a unique place in Croatian music folklore. In 2021, Jan is continuing the string of releases for BBE Records, PDV Records, Get Physical, and Deep Inspiration Show Records. On top of that, a debut record from Cycle Records, his recently launched label, is coming out. Titled "For A Minute", a 12" features two of Jan's original versions, and two remixes from a Chicago house legend Gene Hunt.In parallel with working on his own music, Jan's had a decade-long run lecturing on the subject of ‘History of Electronic Music' at the Music & Sound department of United Pop Academy, still ongoing, and is running CYCLE - a studio, and music production company based in Zagreb.Contact us here to book Jan for a DJ show, live performance, or lecture/workshopJoin us next time for another episode of the Decisive podcast series, where we'll continue to explore the stories and sounds shaping the world of music today. Until then, stay tuned and stay inspired."

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ VOLPE Volpe is a respected Argentinian techno artist with over a decade of experience behind the decks. His passion for Techno was sparked when he was just 15 years old and was able to experience the genre in its true form, through underground clubs and powerful sound systems. As a DJ, his early career was primarily with a focus on sub-genres such as Deep and Detroit, followed by experimentation in Dub, Tribal, and Hardgroove. He has always aimed to transmit a sense of harmony, energy, and emotion through his music, with a preference for danceable beats. Volpe's artistic roots are steeped in the rich traditions of Jazz, imbued with its complex chord structures and harmonization, mixed with the Funk driving grooves and feel of the swing, steeped in Dub Reggae textures full of echo, reverb, and phaser, and also deeply rooted in the rhythmic pulse of Afrobeat. He views himself as a synthesis of his musical influences and inspirations. As a long-time resident of Buenos Aires' underground electronic scene, he has established himself as a leading figure in the local techno community, regularly performing at the city's top clubs and parties. He has also gained recognition for his productions, which have been released on esteemed labels such as Frenzy, Sungate, Artaphine, Mitsubasa and UИCAGE. His talents have garnered the support of notable figures in the techno scene, including Ben Sims, Jeroen Search, DJ Bone, Rødhad, and many others. Volpe is now based in Berlin and continues his international gigs, while he is also preparing his new hardware live set and launching his own music label. Additionally, he continues to make appearances on leading podcasts and channels. As an artist, he believes it is imperative to have diverse life experiences in order to effectively communicate his message, and he carefully curates his selections for his listeners, as he believes that music has the power to heal. Born in Hamburg, Germany, with African roots, he looks back on over a decade of experience as a friend and helper at major electro festivals, such as Because We Are Friends, as well as 14 years at Fusionfestival, where he has been a supporter since 2015. He was already actively involved in the projects WoSindWir and Music Minds Concerts GmbH as a talent scout. His inspiration comes from artists like Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Kraftwerk, Carl Cox, Stip Da Wonda, Derrick May, DJ Bone and Oumou Sangaré. In the past long before the Dj desk and now behind the desk. His sound is characterised by the combination of different styles, making it unmistakable. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Houseeingang crew from Hamburg brings house beats to the bar. Run it Red's 100th Episode is here and, to switch things up, my Discoid/House alias Ron Bacardi takes over with a much-requested Dj set recording, this one from DJ Bone's excellent Further party a few weeks back. In eight years I've chalked up nearly 240hrs of music, dropped about 7000 new tracks and we're still going strong, something I'm immensely proud of. The show has always been about showcasing the best new music I can find, so huge thanks to the artists, labels and promo companies who send me music, I'm aware of how big a privilege it is to get so much great stuff on top of my own digging. Massive thanks to the mighty NTS too, it's wicked to be a regular on such a forward-thinking station and be part of a family that includes so many great DJs and selectors, but the biggest appreciation of all goes to the listeners, those who give me feedback when they see me on the road and especially the ones who go out and support the labels/artists they hear on the show. Much love to all, and I hope you enjoy the RB set this month. The majority of DJs spent the pandemic mostly of stood in front of a camera, attempting to perform the impossible task of transplanting a rave into the bedrooms of the few people lucky enough to be watching at the other end of a fibre optic cable. We are only beginning to come to terms with the implications of what the failure of that approach have had for our culture, but DJ Bone did something completely different. 'Further' was a hugely successful series of events which combined music, talking, and a bit of socially-distanced vibing out. At Radion in Amsterdam, there was a real effort made to add something extra within the constraints of some of the most draconian lockdown measures anywhere in the world. DJ Bone just released an album of the same name as those events, which he sees as jumping off point to his career even at this relatively advanced stage. We discuss that in detail, as well as those events, and what they mean in the context of what he's done in music since the 90s. We also discuss his roots as a party-goer in Detroit, the wider state of Techno and dance music generally today, and what needs to change to get back on track after a few years of real turmoil. This week's entry to the Local Selection Mix Series welcomes esteemed Subject resident Niall Cleary. The massively talented and ever-consistent DJ has put forward a sensational mix featuring 57 tracks with a host of Irish and international talent throughout. Niall has been a key cog in the Dublin techno machine since the early 2000s when nights like Electric City and venues such as Redbox and the old Tivoli Theatre were in their prime. A student of the fast, loop-driven techno from the late 90s, and early 2000s eras, his sets are high energy, full of fast transitions and expert blends. Since late 2009, Niall has been a resident DJ with the renowned Subject events, playing alongside some of the biggest names in house, techno, and electro, as well as appearances at clubs and festivals such as District 8, Index, Twisted Pepper, Life, and Electric Picnic. Niall also holds a residency on Dublin Digital Radio where he plays alongside Mutate Events who host a bi-monthly techno show on Thursday nights where they focus on showcasing emerging and already-established Irish artists. Having played alongside techno stalwarts Dave Clarke, Paula Temple, Surgeon, DJ Bone, Jeff Mills, DVS1, Juan Atkins, Karenn, and more, Niall's pedigree in providing a classy warm-up set is frankly second to none. Niall's skill behind a pair of turntables is not restricted to serving up the starters, as he's been frequently found dishing out peak-time tools at numerous Irish festivals including Life Festival, Electric Picnic, and more. Niall's entry to the Local Selection features a range of brilliant artists that include SHDW & Obscure Shape, Alarico, Truncate, Lars Huismann, Tommy Holohan, Doug Cooney, Aero, Mode_1, Slam, Casper Hastings, and more throughout and just coming in at just over 2 hours in length. Making for a thoroughly enjoyable techno workout. Sorted. This week's Local Selection Mix is a meaty live recording from Rustal in the Sugar Club for RLSD Records. Peter Sweeney better known as Rustal brought the his machines for a workout of just under an hour of techno funk. Rustal is one of Dublin's most accomplished techno act's at this very present moment. The regular fixture in Dublin's techno scene, can be found laying it down in venues across the city, wether it be a live set or behind a set of decks, Rustal has a pedigree for deep and driving techno excursions. Rustal's sound is heavily influenced by authoritative techno figures, wether it be Claude Young, Steve Rachmad, Shifted or Moritz von Oswald, the Dublin native is known for extensively delving into classic and contemporary techno sounds. Peter's obsession for cavernous techno experimentation has landed him in some elite clubs, cities, parties and played alongside some of the world's finest. Over the course of Rustal's extensive career he has regularly played in Berlin with a key performance in the fabled Tresor booth alongside Deniro, Mareena and more. Rustal has also thrown down in the home of techno, Detroit which is the end goal for many techno DJ and performers. The Dublin native has also notably played alongside techno titans such as DJ Bone, Luke Slater, Surgeon and more. Rustal's contribution to the Local Selection is deep, pounding and dubby trip through a selection of analogue hardware, with the Korg Electribe Emx-1 being the heart of the set-up. Rustal glides through warped synth lines, piercing acid cuts and jacking flavours, with absolute ease. As alway's with live set's, moving between moods and nuances can be tricky to make it cohesive, but Rustal holds the energy with immense poise and the trip is ultimately coherent. Raw and honest techno inspired by the past, but with eye's firmly on the future. Today's premiere features a standout remix from Aero, as he does a remarkable job at providing a fresh take on Alt8's 'Cairo at Night'. The remix is coupled with Alt8's single release on Dense & Pika's highly regarded Kneaded Pains label. Give this a spin. Both Alt8 and Aero are knocking their releases out of the park as of late. They have shown that their productions are highly regarded across the entire underground music industry. Having gained a heap of support from artists such as Amelie Lens, DJ Bone, Dax J, Marcell Dettmann, Luke Slater, Paula Temple, Slam and more. So seeing both of them on a release together on Kneaded Pains is no surprise for both of these artists. Alt8's variation of 'Cairo at Night' showcases some Arabic inspiration, as it contains spiritually charged vocals, bouncing tom toms and throbbing bass for quite a unique and transcendental techno vibe. Aero's fresh approach embodies some remnants of the original, but at the same time provides a more raw flavour, really honing into his signature sound that comprises of old school techno elements with a more modern feel. In other words, music that is best suited for the dancefloor. Drawing tangible inspiration from the early 2000s hard techno and groove hiatus, Evan Marshall's artistry continues to blossom, as the DJ is fast becoming a regular on the DJ circuit, plus one of the most prolific releaser of tunes in the whole country. Today we premiere his latest release entitled 'Cairo At Night'. Arabic inspirations permeate through the whole single from Alt8, dropping on @denseandpika's Kneaded Pains label, backed with a remix from fellow rising Irish artist, Aero. In its original mix, ‘Cairo At Night' pummels its way through spiritually charged vocals, bouncing tom toms and throbbing bass for quite the unique and transcendental techno vibe! Dublin based Aero slots in a remix that yields an alternate and raw take, rattling and grimy basement beats underpinning the divine mood. Early support on the release has received great feedback from; Amelie Lens, DJ Bone, Dax J, Nicole Moudaber, Coyu and many more. Alt8 has been producing since 2019, drawing influence from old school hard techno when devising drum sequences. He has released for labels such as Reckless, Rave Alert and Moments In Time. TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ GABRIELLA VERGILOV Gabriella Vergilov is a Bulgarian-born Copenhagen-based producer, DJ and Singer with an idiosyncratic take on electronic music, defined by an extraordinary energy on the stage, a signature finesse of productions and an obsessive passion for aesthetics. For Morei Info: Antwon Faulkner www.jackedrecordsdetroit.net www.thisismodulations.com Antwon Faulkner has been in the game for nearly three decades now. Born and raised in Detroit, Antwon started hustling mix-tapes at the age of sixteen. With music in his blood, this is truly what he was born to do. At thirty-five Antwon briefly relocated to Arizona but it wasn’t until late 2008, when he moved to Toronto, did we really get exposed to this next exciting chapter. While people may be more familiar with his DJ moniker, the infamous “Twonz,” in 2009 we got to know a new Antwon, an Antwon re-energized, excited and motivated. His focus shifted from throwing parties and DJing to making music and really honing his craft as a producer. Spending countless hours in the studio, Antwon is careful to avoid listening to others while in his creative zone so the product reflects him and him alone, devoid of any outside influences. With an upgrade in equipment and new pieces of gear, we’ve seen Antwon turn a corner in which he has found his lane and is settling in really nicely. The results are heard in using less loops and playing more of his own keys. While he still regularly releases tracks on his own imprint, “Hijacked Records Detroit,” recent years have seen him spreading the love with multiple releases and remixes on “Restructured Recordings,” “Bulletdodge Records,” “KMS Records.”"Downside UP," "Elephanthaus," "Thoughtless Music," "Motech LTD," "UNT Records," "Frequenza," "Sampled Detroit," and "RF Trax." His music has been played by many world class DJ's such as: Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Gene Farris, DJ Bone, Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Carl Cox, Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, DJ Heather, Pete Tong, Paco Osuna, Luigi Madonna, Hector Moralez, Stanny Abram, Stacey Pullen, and many more! While production is where Antwon’s heart is, this is not to say that you can’t still catch one of his killer DJ sets. Antwon is straight up techno and prides himself on being current and remaining relevant. You can rest assured you will always hear the new hot tracks and your Detroit classics, which will now include his own productions peppered throughout the set. Listen closely as Antwon often premieres unreleased material for those that came out to jam. Now here is what you won’t see, no software and no laptop. Antwon is currently on a “Bring Back the DJ” crusade. While technology provides us with amazing advances, this is Antwon’s answer to an over saturated market of “DJs” that haven’t learned the fundamentals of beat matching or DJs having a distinct “sound” based on their own sense and use of timing. Two turntables and a mixer and a whole lot of funk! In 2018 he received the "TESTIMONIAL RESOLUTION PLAQUE" FROM THE CITY OF DETROIT for his contributions in bringing the sound of Detroit to an international audience. 1 Justice Orlando Voorn 2 Morning Side (Nino Bellemo Remix) 3 Perception of Groove (Djebali Remix) 4 What Is This Sound ArchieHamilton's HigherRepurposemix 5 Unique Oscar L 6 Bring Da Drums (Original Mix) M. Based in Melbourne, Greetings is the moniker of Jack Grazie. When he is not playing in the cities best venues, he works full time in music production and running record labels. After label managing the high flying house imprint clipp.art, his attention is now focused on a brand new project, the Boots n Legs record label which will focus on 80s synth-pop and Italo gems. The new label’s first release will drop on the 15th of May, and they will also have a launch party on the 29th of June at Whitehart Bar. Greetings don’t just focus on nu-wave sounds and have a knack for unearthing deep, warm house. DJ Bone recently played at XE54 and Greetings were tasked with warming up the dancefloor. And he did just that, laying down a fresh vinyl-only set featuring only Australian artists. If you weren’t there, you could listen back as we have the full recording. This is the sort of quality you would expect from an international DJ. @greetingstoyou @bootsnlegss ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Fri, May 10th: smalltown & SASH with Ben Klock, Jennifer Cardini + Mind Against @ Home Nightclub, Sydney www.facebook.com/events/773886359661274/ Sat, May 11th: smalltown with Ben Klock, Jennifer Cardini + Mind Against @ Thornbury, Melbourne www.facebook.com/events/1023165764737629/ Sat. NJR brings you once again to Berlin for making you listen to an incredibly smart, multi-faced and energetic podcast by @gforty - Italian producer, DJ and founder of @mombrecords. During this 1h podcast, he takes you across a vast and never-ordinary voyage through house, breakbeat, techno, and ambient soundscapes. Gforty says: "In this special mix I’ve made for No Joke Radio I decided not to focus on techno music only - as I often do - but somewhat to give a complete overview of my overall electronic music taste, starting from deep/atmo/breaks old school house productions, passing through tribal percussive sonorities (including some Momb Records releases) and ending up with pure techno grooves, everything alternated, trying not to impose too much of a continuative flow to the DJ Set but rather preferring ups and downs to give an unpredictable experience to the listener." BIO Giorgio Quaranta aka Gforty is an Italian producer and DJ from Rome, now living in Berlin. He is a polyhedric artist mainly focused on techno music with a strong Detroit techno and Chicago house influence. Gforty began composing electronic music in 2004 at the age of 17. In November 2007 Gforty signed a deal with Teggno Records (US). He began his producer activity entering the "top 100" Beatport chart with his track “Parada” and getting his third EP “Desert Strings” launched by Carl Cox at events like the summer opening of Space in Ibiza and the Circoloco in Rome. He released his music with different international record labels. His tracks got supported and played by many of the most important international DJs like Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, X- Press 2, Ken Ishii, Truncate, DJ Bone, Luke Slater, James Zabiela, Ilario Alicante, Samuel L Session, Vince Watson, Slam, Bryan Zentz, Robert Owens, Johannes Volk, Stacey Pullen, Roberto, Beroshima and Joseph Capriati. Furthermore, Gforty secured releases on labels like Motech, Bulletdodge, Bush Records, Naked Lunch, Restructured and Bonzai. After a year spent between Barcelona and Ibiza, from September 2016 he is based in Berlin, where in spring 2017 he launched Momb Records, his own record label. Our next podcast welcomes one of Detroit's legends DJ Bone, a hugely respected DJ known for his highly technical DJ sets, CEO of imprint Subject Detroit and an artist with releases that span over 20 years. Tigerlight chats to him about the rich dance music history that has made him the artist he is today, his new album and his creative workflow.
Franklin De Costa has flown mainly under the radar for a long time now, but he's long been a favourite of electronic music fans who love to delve a little deeper. Hailing from Berlin, he's been releasing music under a variety of monikers for well over a decade and he's always charted his own course. Alongside his production work, Franklin also promotes the Mothers Finest night where he's been able to continue to push the weirder, more non-conformist corners of techno and bass music. With the likes of Hodge as a resident and acts such as DJ Bone, Laurel Halo, and Machine Woman amongst his bookings you can see that they like to follow the path less trodden. With a new Mudkid album coming soon, and the 5th Birthday celebrations for Mothers Finest fast approaching, I caught up with Franklin over skype on a chilly Sunday afternoon. We had a broad ranging chat covering berlin winters, his creative process and how social media is changing the way the electronic music scene exists, for better and for worse.

A lesson in keeping it real from a Detroit favourite.
Vous voilà prévenus...Tracklist :DJ Jee :Marcus mixx 'Untitled' (Lets Pet Puppies) Simoncino 'Dream States' (Syncrophone) Paul Du lac 'Whos The Mack' (Bio Rhythm) LA4A 'Understand' (Delft) Paul Du lac 'Backstreet Boy' (Bio Rhythm) Delta Funktionen 'Lost In A Dream' (Radio Matrix) Myriadd 'The Way We Where - John Heckle Remix' (Signals)Eküm :Neinzer - Vapiviji (Yumé) Shamos - Cranbourne Road (Apron Records) Raw M.T - Richard's Revenge (Lobster Theremin) Eszaid - Ambr Flashing Lignt (Collapsing Market) Tessela - Tenner Eclipse (Polykicks) Gesloten Cirkel - The Real Melbourne House (Murder Capital) Stephen Brown - Medusa (Don Williams Remix) (Technorama Records) Najem Sworb - K164 (Technorama) Delroy Edwards - Love Goes On And On (L.I.E.S) Jared Wilson - Who we are (7777)Céline :Trust XV-III, The Exaltics "Flexible Horizon", TrustRod "Float", BalansSync 24 et The Exaltics "Ten Years in Ten Weeks", Cultivated ElectronicsPeeping Tom "Outraged Keyplayer", PinkmanLa-4a "Cobalt", DelftNajem Sworb "K-173", Technorama RecordsVilan X / Naughty Wood "Character", June RecordsLuxus Varta "Ieloh", Solar One Music
