“When we're out there putting our bodies on the line, the last thing we want to be thinking is, am I going to be looked after if this goes wrong?” — Atomic athlete, Jossi WellsToday we're talking with Atomic skiers Jossi Wells, Tonje Kvivik, and Noah Wallace about a topic that almost never gets discussed publicly, yet it's an issue that most sponsored outdoor athletes have to deal with: as a professional athlete, it's your job to go out there and push yourself and try to push the limits of your sport, while also having to take responsibility for the consequence when things go wrong. It's been a longstanding issue in the freeski world, across snowboarding, biking, climbing, and other sports, and while we all love watching athletes put themselves on the line, when injuries happen in that pursuit of pushing what's possible, most of us then can only offer these athletes our best wishes on social media and our hopes that they heal up soon. But today, I'm happy to announce a new development that we think will set a new standard in the outdoor industry. Atomic has committed to covering their international freeski athletes with BLISTER+ outdoor injury insurance, and Atomic is the first outdoor brand to provide this level of coverage to their sponsored athletes.RELATED LINKS:BLISTER+ Get Yourself CoveredTOPICS & TIMES:Noah Wallace's Story (3:21)Tonje Kvivik's Story (7:33)Jossi Wells' Story (8:32)Atomic's Decision to Cover Their Athletes (10:06)Tonje's Experience with Insurance (12:01)Jossi on Trying to Get Coverage (14:27)Getting Hurt When You Least Expect It (19:50)Jonathan's Injuries (32:50)GofundMe Culture (43:43)How Do We Create a Culture Shift? We started this episode speaking about how the professional leagues had all taken a hiatus late last week to address the social injustice concerns after the Jacob Blake shooting. We were happy to see the NBA take the lead and boycott games and then all of the other North American leagues following suit. The NBA Players Association and the NBA owners have agreed to establish a social justice coalition with representatives from players, coaches and governors. This coalition will be focused on a broad range of issues, including increasing access to voting, promoting civic engagement and advocating for meaningful police and criminal justice reform. We then discussed the unfortunate deaths this weekend of three individuals that had ties to the NBA and the sporting world. We spoke of the shocking news that Chadwick Boseman had died after a 4 year battle with colon cancer. Chad was a huge NBA fan and had relationships with many in the league. He had played a lot of prominent roles like Jackie Robinson in 42, Ernie Davis NFL Hall of Famer in The Express, T'Challa in the Black Panther etc etc. One of the other unfortunate passings this weekend was Clifford Robinson the 18 year veteran of the NBA. "Uncle Cliffy is best known for his time with the Portland Trail Blazers helping lead them to the NBA finals in 90 and 92. Last but not least Lute Olson the long time Hall of Fame college basketball coach just passed away at 85 years old and is most remembered for his 25 year run as Head coach of the Arizona Wildcats. He took over a program at Arizona that was not very good and helped rise it to National prominence. They made 23 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances once he turned the program around. Dozens of NBA players have come from that program and we spoke about quite a few of them. Our conversation ended up turning to discuss the on the court action as the first round was almost wrapped up and the second round was just starting. We finished off our podcast episode looking back at last nights UFC Fight Night Smith Vs Rakic. We brokedown all 10 fights on the card and had a great discussion about all of them. Enjoy Take care Love Yah Bye for now

Complete Sports is thrilled about this podcast as we welcomed an old friend Olivier Pheulpin to join us and discuss soccer and basketball. Olivier is the technical director for the Juventus soccer academy and soccer complex in San Antonio, Texas. Olivier is originally from France and he came to North America to cover the NBA as a reporter. He spent a few years in Vancouver covering the NBA expansion Grizzlies and then moved to San Antonio to cover the Spurs organization and league as a whole. He was fortunate to get to be an insider with one of the greatest organizations in sports in the San Antonio Spurs. They won yearly at an impressive pace and took home five NBA championships 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014 in 15 years. With Olivier being from France one of his biggest sporting loves is Football(soccer in North America) and he decided to return as a coach for the Alamo Revolution in San Antonio . He had success and it seemed to fuel his desire for more involvement at a higher level. With a playing career and work experience with Paris Saint Germain on a resume and a knowledge and love for the sport of soccer he became interested in pursuing more opportunities. He became the director of Coaching FC Dallas in the Alamo area. He has the motto of just go for it and he was quoted once "If your dreams don't keep you up at night they are not big enough". He went on a European quest to find a top football club to bring a soccer academy to the US and specifically into the San Antonio area. He eventually found the right fit with Juventus one of the worlds premier football clubs. Juventus has Christiano Ronaldo one of the best players of his time and that has enabled them continue a dominance in Serie A. Juventus are poised to win their 9th straight League title and take a run at a Champions league crown. Ronaldo is one of the most marketable and famous athletes in the world. He is the most followed user on Instagram and Facebook and is typically one of the world's highest paid athletes. So not only has Olivier convinced Juve to start a soccer academy in this area they are also building a incredible soccer facility called Soccer Central. He should be incredibly proud of this accomplishment and for the good it will provide youth in the greater San Antonio area. We shifted gears here and there and discussed NBA basketball at length and waxed poetic on memories we had covering the association. We spoke about the Last Dance Chicago Bulls documentary and how it was nice remembering how we were there for many of those moments. It was a really fun conversation and I didn't want it to end. We will have him back for more once things start back up soon. Thanks to Olivier and our viewers and listeners. One of my favorite people that first was a colleague and became a friend. Enjoy! Traditional Medicare Doesn't Pay For Dental Care. Here's How to Get Coverage by Elizabeth O'Brien Traditional Medicare doesn’t pay for dental work, so to get coverage you have to buy a stand-alone plan or enroll in one of the Medicare Advantage plans that offer some dental benefits. Yet most of this coverage is basic and leaves people underinsured against this major expense, according to a new study.
