ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਛੰਤ ਘਰੁ ੭ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ ਸੁਭ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰਮਣ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਉ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੧॥ ਛੰਤ ॥ ਭਿੰਨੀ ਰੈਨੜੀਐ ਚਾਮਕਨਿ ਤਾਰੇ ॥ ਜਾਗਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਗਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੋ ॥ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੋ ॥ ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਕਾਰੁ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਕਲਮਲਾ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਰੇ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਗਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ–) ਹੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਭਲੀਆਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।1। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਤ੍ਰੇਲ ਭਿੱਜੀ ਰਾਤ ਵਿਚ (ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ) ਤਾਰੇ ਡਲ੍ਹਕਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤਿਵੇਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ-ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣ ਲਿਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ) । ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ–) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਰਤਾ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਲ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਾਹ ਹੋ। ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਮੋਹ ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਪਾਪ ਸਾੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ– (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।1। ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਜੜੀਐ ਆਡੰਬਰੁ ਬਣਿਆ ॥ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਵਤ ਸੁਣਿਆ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਗਾਮੀ ਚਾਵ ਮੰਗਲ ਰਸ ਭਰੇ ॥ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਦੂਖ ਭਾਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਸਭਿ ਹਰੇ ॥ ਮਨ ਇਛ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਈ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਸਾਹਾ ਸੁਭ ਗਣਿਆ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਸਗਲ ਆਨੰਦ ਰਸੁ ਬਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲ) ਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸੇਜ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਬਣ ਗਈ। ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਚਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ (ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਜੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ = ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਲ) ਹਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰਾਣ ਲਈ) ਭਲਾ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਚੰਗਾ ਮੁਹੂਰਤ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ– ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।2। ਮਿਲਿ ਸਖੀਆ ਪੁਛਹਿ ਕਹੁ ਕੰਤ ਨੀਸਾਣੀ ॥ ਰਸਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਰੀ ਕਛੁ ਬੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਗੁਣ ਗੂੜ ਗੁਪਤ ਅਪਾਰ ਕਰਤੇ ਨਿਗਮ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹੇ ॥ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੇ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਗਿਆਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣੀ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੩॥ ਅਰਥ: ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪੁੱਛਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਦੱਸ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਤਾਂ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਦੱਸਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ। (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਸ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਹਨ ਗੁੱਝੇ ਹਨ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਨ, ਵੈਦ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਉਸਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ– ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਉਸ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।3। ਸੁਖ ਸੋਹਿਲੜੇ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਵਣ ਲਾਗੇ ॥ ਸਾਜਨ ਸਰਸਿਅੜੇ ਦੁਖ ਦੁਸਮਨ ਭਾਗੇ ॥ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਸਰਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀਆ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗੇ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਗੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਨਵਾਰੀਆ ॥ ਸੁਭ ਦਿਵਸ ਆਏ ਸਹਜਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਗੇ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਤਾਗੇ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੦॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ (ਹਰਿ-ਜਨ) ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣ) ਮਿੱਤਰ ਵਧਦੇ ਫੁੱਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ (ਤੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਵੈਰੀ ਨੱਸ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਮੌਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ-ਚਿੱਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਇਹ) ਭਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਆਏ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਰਸਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ– ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਿਬਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।4।1।10। O Nanak! (Akh-) O God! Please, let me forget the name of Vira for a moment, let me always think of Bhant, keep chanting the name of Gobind, let me be the holy companion of the Guru. 1. (O brother!) The stars shine in the dew-soaked night (in Akhya) (Thus, the lovers of the Lord write beautiful spiritual qualities in the miraculous art of a heart soaked in love). Saints dear to my Rama (blessed by meditation) stay alert. Saints of the Lord are always alert, they meditate on the name of the Hari Atma Prabhu. Saints meditate on the beautiful tender feet of the Lord in their hearts (and, at different times, O Lord, they are always far from our hearts). Sant Jan is showing all his sorrows by giving up the honor of his mind, getting rid of attachment and disorder. Nanak pleads – (O brother!) Nanak requests - those who meet the Lord, all the joys in their hearts, the encouragement remains. 2. The friends together ask (me) to tell me any sign of Khasam-Prabhu. I am engrossed in the joy of his union, my heart is filled with his love, but I do not know any sign of him. The merits of (my) Creator are deep, mysterious and endless, even the physicians cannot find the end of His merits, (His servants) by joining in His love in the color of His devotion, always paying attention to Him. Gunas keep singing. Nanak pleads – The living woman who is colored in the color of the love of that Khasam-Lord, she remains immersed in spiritual stability, she becomes dear to her Lord who is the possessor of all virtues, who has supreme knowledge. which is universal in all.3. Hey brother! When God's devotees (Hari-Jana) start singing beautiful songs of God's soothing praise, then (the auspicious qualities within them) friends flourish, their sorrows (and lustful) enemies disappear. The happiness of spiritual calmness flows between them, with the blessing of God's name they remain happy, but all this grace is done by the Lord himself. Where can I get something to worship Gobind? No other (true) flower (adik mill) can (can). Shall I not (by doing this) attain that beautiful Lord? Sandalwood plants are bitten by snakes (and they have made sandalwood false), poison and nectar (also in the ocean) live together.l2l Even the incense lamps and Naveds (become false) as they become fragrant, (then, O Lord! If Thy worship can be done with these things only, then by placing these false things before Thee) how can Thy devotees worship Thee? I3I (O Lord!) ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਣਾ ॥ ਆਢ ਦਾਮ ਕੋ ਛੀਪਰੋ ਹੋਇਓ ਲਾਖੀਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬੁਨਨਾ ਤਨਨਾ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥ ਨੀਚ ਕੁਲਾ ਜੋਲਾਹਰਾ ਭਇਓ ਗੁਨੀਯ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਢੁਵੰਤਾ ਢੋਰ ਨੀਤਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ ਸੈਨੁ ਨਾਈ ਬੁਤਕਾਰੀਆ ਓਹੁ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਸੁਨਿਆ ॥ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਸਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਭਗਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਗਨਿਆ ॥੩॥ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਜਾਟਰੋ ਉਠਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਗਾ ॥ ਮਿਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਖਿ ਗੁਸਾਈਆ ਧੰਨਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੨॥ ਅਰਥ: (ਭਗਤ) ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ (ਉਸ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਅੱਧੀ ਕੌਡੀ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਛੀਂਬਾ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਲਖਪਤੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਾਹ ਰਹੀ)।1। ਰਹਾਉ। (ਕੱਪੜਾ) ਉਣਨ (ਤਾਣਾ) ਤਣਨ (ਦੀ ਲਗਨ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਬੀਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਨ ਲਾ ਲਈ; ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਜੁਲਾਹਾ ਸੀ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।1। ਰਵਿਦਾਸ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਨਿੱਤ ਮੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਢੋਂਦਾ ਸੀ, (ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦਾ ਮੋਹ) ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉੱਘਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।2। ਸੈਣ (ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ) ਨਾਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁੱਤੀਆਂ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੋ ਤੁਰੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸ ਪਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।3। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਦੀ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਧੰਨਾ ਜੱਟ ਭੀ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਾਖਿਆਤ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।4।2। ਨੋਟ: ਇਸ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ-ਲੇਖ ਹੈ "ਆਸਾ ਬਾਣੀ ਭਗਤ ਧੰਨੇ ਕੀ"। ਇਸ ਸਿਰ-ਲੇਖ ਹੇਠ 3 ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹਨ; ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦੂਜੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਨਵਾਂ ਸਿਰ-ਲੇਖ ਹੈ "ਮਹਲਾ 5"। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਹ ਦੂਜਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਨਾਨਕ' ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਰਤਿਆ। ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਸ਼ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਵਿਚ ਉਚਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਰ ਭੀ ਐਸੇ ਵਾਕ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਥੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ 'ਨਾਨਕ' ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਰਤਿਆ; FIFTH MEHL: Naam Dayv's mind was absorbed into God, Gobind, Gobind, Gobind. Guru Gobind Rai was born in the city of Patna in the state of Bihar. Gobind Rai; A divine soul sent from the heavens to help this earth. People always noticed that when he played with his friends, even though he was physically stronger, he was always kind to everyone. He was always having fun, joking around and he laughed all the time. And there were so many games he liked to play with his friends. Sometimes he also liked to do mischief. Near his house, there was an old woman who spun yarn and she used a wheel to spin raw cotton into yarn balls. One day Gobind Rai decided to make a little mischief, and he snuck up behind her chair. She couldn't see him and suddenly he knocked her basket of yarn balls on the ground and ran away. The balls of yarn had taken ages to spin and got all dirty and dusty. So the old woman got really angry with him. She picked up a big stick and waved it wildly in her hand while shouting at Gobind Rai, "I've been working on that basket of yarn all day. How dare you knock it down!" She chased him, thinking she would give him a sound beating with the stick. She yelled, "I don't care who your parents are, I'll teach you some manners! Come here boy!" She almost caught him. But he just ran away faster not letting her catch him. He used to do this prank on her until she got fed up.  She went to Gobind Rai's home and began complaining to Mata Gujri Ji, his mother. She whined, "Your son! He keeps sneaking into my workroom and scattering all my yarn. All I have is that yarn. And he does it all the time. I'm so miserable. He must stop this. I have no peace of mind." Mata Gujri was a kind and wise woman, and she could see the old woman was really in distress. So she gave the woman some clothes and some money, saying, "Here, take these. It's the least I can do for you." The old woman was very poor and she was surprised and touched by Mata Gujri. It was not often she was given clothes and money. Instantly she became very happy and changed her tune, "Well after all he is just a child. Mata Ji, we shouldn't mind if he does a little mischief. It's alright, he can still play with me..." Mata Gujri herself was ever trusting and could never stay mad at her son. She thought, "He is sent by God so I have to accept what he does. He will protect humanity." After the old woman had gone home Gobind Rai came home from playing. He clearly had something on his mind, and he shared it with his mother, "Mata, you know that woman today with the yarn? Well, when I knocked it over it wasn't her yarn that was being destroyed. It was the stains of her soul that were being destroyed. Her poverty had to be taken away. She was poor before, but after knocking over the yarn look how rich she is. It was destiny for you to give her all the nice clothes and money." Everyone who heard this story was amazed that this young boy, not much older than a toddler could say such things. His grandmother knew better though. She thought, "He's a real Guru. He is bringing all the wisdom he brought with him from the heavens." After this, the old woman began visiting the Guru's house more often. She began joining the Sangat for early morning prayers. She joined the company of the saints and her life became very blessed. This is how Gobind Rai helped people. Even when he was annoying or bothering someone, he was actually helping them. Even when he was mischievous, it always turned out better for others. On one hand, this old woman was blessed with wealth on this earth. But she was even more enriched by the blessings of the heavens. Where can I get something to worship Gobind? No other (true) flower (adik mill) can (can). Shall I not (by doing this) attain that beautiful Lord? Sandalwood plants are bitten by snakes (and they have made sandalwood false), poison and nectar (also in the ocean) live together.l2l Even the incense lamps and Naveds (become false) as they become fragrant, (then, O Lord! If Thy worship can be done with these things only, then by placing these false things before Thee) how can Thy devotees worship Thee? I3I (O Lord!)
