What is the interplay between aromatherapy, sensuality, and sexuality? This query started back in 2017, when I was curious why some essential oils are considered “aphrodisiacs” and how some are considered “hormone balancing”—realizing many essential oils influence both aspects. This episode goes there. How can essential oils like Patchouli, Vetiver, and Blue Lotus (Jasmine, Ylang ylang….) support holistic sensuality and sexuality while embracing the sacredness of being whole, undivided beings? We start by reflecting on the yin and yang within us all, the interconnectedness of our bodies and the universe, and the sacredness of creation as a gateway to divine knowing or gnosis. We continue into highlighting the power of scent as a form of deep communication, noting how odorants influence receptor sites in the body and can deeply connect us to ourselves and others. Sharing insights from poetry and philosophy, we weave together themes of respect, receptivity, and the importance of dispelling ego to embrace our sensual selves. Drawing inspiration from works like Rumi, E.E. Cummings, and Stephen Harold Buhner, we frame sensuality and sexuality as sacred and beautiful, celebrating the profound connection between scent, body, and spirit.Throughout the episode, we explore the role of essential oils in supporting sensuality and sexuality, highlighting favorites like Sandalwood, Patchouli, and Peru balsam for their grounding and nurturing qualities. This episode is a celebration of our fundamental core, encouraging us to embrace our bodies, imperfections and all, and to create moments of self-care, such as aromatic baths or massage oils, to connect with our sensual-sexual selves.Tune in for thought-provoking insights, poetry, and practical tips to integrate aromatherapy into your daily life. This episode offers a holistic approach to embracing our divine, sensual selves and connecting with the sacredness of being alive.Poems highlights: (Minute ~28) Rumi, “You that come to birth and bring the mysteries.”(Minute ~32) e.e. cummings, “Lady, I will touch you with my mind.”(Minute ~39) Stephen Harrod Buhner, “Semen is Latin for a dormant, fertilized plant ovum.”

No Place for Plants: What's Left When the Plants are Gone? With Dr. Kelly Ablard

In this episode of Essential Aromatica, Amy converses with Dr. Kelly Ablard from the Airmid Institute about the complex interplay between ecology, the crucial role medicinal and aromatic plants play in sustaining eco-cultural-systems and what the essential oil community can do to support global and local ecologies and the Earth overall. Episode Highlights: The Unique Relationship Between Biology, Aromatherapy, and Chemical Ecology. Explore how the chemicals that facilitate interactions among species are found in essential oils. (Pheromones, Allomones!) The Importance of Ethnobotany via Philology and Biology. Sustaining cultural ecology by preserving indigenous wisdom through recording the oral records of medicinal and aromatic plants. This relates to Plants Shaping Our Lives by Creating Our Environment. From the oxygen we breathe to the food we eat and the clothes we wear, this deep connection to plants underscores their fundamental role in our culture and daily lives. If we don't Preserve Plant Life and Support Ecosystems, More of our Earth will Experience Rosewood's Dire Situation seen in Peru. Its pivotal role in maintaining ecological balance was the reason Dr. Ablard started the Airmid Institute. To understand the ripple effect on an ecosystem of losing key species such as Rosewood proves the necessity to preserve these plants to ensure ecosystem health (inclusive of humans, plants, animals and insects.) Something similar may be happening in Southern California with White Sage, which is over-harvested and illegally harvested to supply a widespread appetite for smudge sticks and other White Sage applications. How Can We Help? Find Analogs. We don't have to work with Sandalwood from India, White Sage from California or even Tea Tree from Australia. Find analogs that you can grow in your backyard, community garden or source locally. Some examples we talk about are Rosemary, Eastern Red Cedar and Yarrow. Think Locally While Supporting Sustainable Global Trade when buying aromatic plants, herbs and essential oils. (Yes, think local and global!) Appreciate the value of sourcing medicinal plants locally and supporting indigenous programs across the world that use ancestral cultivation techniques. Balance local plant use with sustainable global trade to support communities tied to these aromatic plants. Be mindful of Conservation Status and International Trade: The IUCN Red List and CITES activity help protect endangered plant species. As a consumer, understanding the importance of asking about CITES permits and sustainable sourcing when purchasing essential oil is critical. Understand Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research Impact on Plant Ecology and Survival. Pharmaceutical and clinical research contributes to the extinction of some plant species such as Sandalwood and Spikenard; the importance of quality control, safety, and conservation statuses should be noted and accounted for. Foster a Child's Understanding of Ecology by nurturing a love for plants and a sense of place. Support education programs in schools, encourage learning from elders, and involve them in gardening, community gardens, and nature-based activities like hiking. Through the book, “No Place for Plants,” Dr. Kelly Ablard and Frauke Galia highlight the impact of urban development on ecosystems and cultures. The narrative focuses on the vital role of community gardens in urban areas and emphasizes the need for children to connect with nature and advocate for green spaces. Her professor teachers her about orgasms, sucking, raw cocks. by FatherMarin. Listen to the Podcast at Steamy Stories. Unlike most of her professors, Dr. Redding spoke withenthusiasm. He was clearly passionate about the subject material, and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with his freshman class. Just how enthusiastic he could be was something she would come to learn in short order. For now, as the professor lectured, her face remained down while she doodled, one hand covering her brow like a visor. It was all she could do to tune him out. That, and the growing wetness between her legs. "As you progress through the program and eventually intoyour residency, you'll become accustomed to patients being nervous, or shy, just as you'll become accustomed to your own nervousness. My advice is to not stress about this process, and to just let things happen naturally. Any questions?" She hadn't been paying attention to the lecture or the time.Thank god, she thought, her face flush with embarrassment as she rose to leave the class. "Excuse me, would you remain a moment?" She turned to the professor before glancing around as her other classmates filed out of the room. "Me?" she asked. "Yes, if you don't mind?" "Well, I have work right after this, and it's gettinglate..." She looked outside, the sun having nearly set. "I couldn't help but notice you were distractedtoday," Redding said as the last student filed out of the room. This was the last class of the evening, she knew, and soon they would be alone as most of the students left for home or the bar. "Oh. Maybe. Sorry," she said. "A lot of students find it hard to adjust at the start ofthe year. I like to make sure they know I'm available and willing to help with anything that comes up, or with any needs that may arise. How have you been adjusting?" Redding walked around around and casually closed the door at the back of the room before returning to his desk at the front, leaning against the front of it and crossing his arms. His slacks seemed to pull taught against his muscular thighs. The bulge in his pants was noticeable. She swallowed, again that wetness between her legs apparent. "Fine. No issues, really. Is there something wrong?" "Not at all. You have a 4.0 this quarter. Normally you'repretty attentive, but today you hardly looked up once. I thought to check in with you since we're half-way through the quarter already. How are you finding the material?" They'd been studying reproductive systems, and in truth, much ofit was new to her. She'd come from a conservative household and a private Catholic school, and neither had ever taught her anything much about how her own body worked, or sex, or what to do with herself when she'd felt aroused, except that anything outside of marriage--even masturbation--was a sin. It was no wonder that when she began to notice Redding she had a hard time focusing. "It's...fine," she said, fidgeting nervously in her chair. She looked up at him, at his broad chest and handsome features--stubbled chin, blue eyes, shaggy hair. He looked like someone from a shampoo commercial. The front of his shirt was tucked casually into his pants, belt slightly askance as he shifted position, ankles uncrossing and crossing again. Suddenly aware that her nipples were pressing prominentlyagainst her blouse, she pushed her chest forward, unaware of the motion until she made it. "I don't have a lot of, um...I mean with the material, Idon't...I haven't..." she trailed off, catching herself again glancing toward the bulge in his pants before looking quickly away. Was it growing? "You're a virgin, aren't you? Not much in the way of sex edeither, I take it?" She gasped, blushed, felt the heat rise quickly in her chest andthroat and, yes, between her legs. "Don't worry," Redding said, uncrossing his arms andgripping the edge of the desk as he leaned back. "It's just as I said in class: you have to get used to these things, get comfortable talking about sex and bodies and vaginas and erections and ejaculation. If you're not comfortable, then your patients aren't going to be comfortable. As doctors, it's our job to put them at ease." Redding spoke matter-of-factly, casual, as if he were discussingwhat to have for dinner. His candor helped put her at ease and she relaxed a little, setting her backpack on the floor next to her desk. Perhaps he was right. Perhaps talking about these things openly and objectively would help put some of her nerves at ease. "I've never seen a penis," she said, deciding in themoment to throw herself out there, as her roommate was constantly encouraging. This was her professor, a man in a position of respect and authority. He could be trusted. She could learn from him. If not him, then whom else? "I've been so focused on studying and working that I haven't had time for a boyfriend, and school is only going to get harder. I guess I'm just worried that by the time I do, the first one I see will be a patient's." Her professor nodded, seeming to consider what she had said. "Andyou feel that with your inexperience, your patients won't trust you? That they'll somehow know you're a virgin?" He was right. She looked from the window and the setting sunoutside, turning to acknowledge what he had said, but again her gaze went first to his crotch and for a moment, the words caught in her through. There was a growing erection. She simply nodded, unable to takeher eyes off it."Look," Redding said, taking a step toward her. "I don't often do this, but I want to help you. I want to make sure you succeed. Ican tell your inexperience is really bothering you, and I want to make sure you can put your mind at ease. If you want, I'd be willing to show you mine. I moonlight as a nude model every now and then, so I'm used to this anyway. Would you feel better if you got to see what a penis looked like in real life?" "Uh huh," she said, unable to speak. Was this reallyhappening? Was it unethical? Deeply unethical, her mind screamed. And yet, that wetnessbetween her legs, the warmth there... Redding unbuckled his belt and pushed his pants down. They fellto the floor. His legs were muscular, black briefs skin-tight against the thick chords of muscles in his thighs. A large erection there--six inches? Seven? She couldn't be sure--was apparent. "I'd show you what a flaccid penis looks like, but onething you'll learn about men is that they can't often control when they're erect. Just accept it when it happens and everything will come naturally after that. Being a nude model probably helped me more with that than being a doctor, to be honest. Here, I'll show you," he said, pushing his briefs down to the floor. Out sprang his cock, and she gasped. She had seen a dildo at a sex shop once, but seeing the realthing was something else entirely. He was thick, and well trimmed. A small line of hair rain up his navel. She felt dizzy. "Notice that I am circumcised," he said, takinganother step. He was close now, within reach. She squirmed in her seat, again aware of her erect nipples, the wetness between her legs, heat in her neck and chest. He continued. "If I were not," he said, taking his cock in his handand moving it so she could see it from another angle, "a layer of foreskin would conceal the head of my penis, and it would retract as I entered my partner, or masturbated." She could smell his cologne. Faint, earthy. Sandalwood, maybe,or vanilla. "You've never performed oral sex before, have you?" She shook her head. "Give me your hand." He reached for her, and, head spinning, heart pounding, she tookit. Gently he guided it to his thick, bulging shaft, and wrapped her fingers around it. "Like this," he said, his hand still around hers. Hebegan to guide her hand up and down his shaft, up and down, slowly. "When your partner becomes aroused like this, it's good tostart things off with your hands. It's okay to take your time at this point. There's no rushing foreplay. Especially as a virgin, you want to make sure you're going slowly." He guided her fingers along his shaft and over the tip of hiscock, which had begun to leak precum. He removed his hand from hers, allowing her to continue on her own. "And now this," he said, taking another step towardforward. Her chair was just the right height to put her face in line with his cock, and gently he took the back of her head, guiding himself into her mouth. He moaned as her tongue slipped over the tip of his penis, his throbbing shaft pressing into the back of her throat. She gagged at first and he backed partially out before pulling her head back onto him. Her hands found his hips and before she realized what she was doing, she found herself bobbing over his cock, the tip of it bumping against the back of her throat as she took all of him. It was a surprise how easily she found herself able to deepthroat him, something she would later credit to her natural lack of a strong gag reflex. "Yes," he moaned, his hips now thrusting into her ashe fucked her mouth. "Yes, exactly. Just like that." Jesus Christ this is wrong, she thought. What the fuck am Idoing? I can't believe I'm doing this. I can't believe I'm that student. What would my friends think? What would my pastor think? But the taste of him was incredible, and the gentle way hefucked her throat was unlike anything she had ever experienced. She felt like...like...her mind struggled to think of something. Like a whore. "Your partner should warn you when he's about to cum. Whenit happens, you'll decide if you're comfortable swallowing his ejaculate or not. And you're going to have to make that decision very soon," he said, grunting. He had become more aggressive, grabbing a fistful of her hair from the back of her head. No longer was he gentle. No longer was he going slow. He pulled her head hard against his crotch as he thrust forward, fucking her mouth with reckless abandon. "I'm cumming," he said, grunting, "I'm cumming.Oh god, fuck, yes!" He pulled her onto his shaft one last time, deep, burying his large and rock-hard erection deep in her throat. A thick stream of cum burst from him as his cock throbbed, hot ropes of semen coating the back of her throat. She swallowed it all. After a moment he pulled back, out of breath. "There,"he said, panting. "You're very good at that. Nothing to worry about at all. You'll know what to do for next time. Here." He lead her from her desk and guided her toward his. "But, I don't--" "It's okay," he said, standing in front of her. His hands found her button on her jeans and he undid them, pushing them to thefloor. She kicked her flip flops off and stepped out of them, suddenlyaware she had not been wearing any panties that day. "As a doctor, you're going to need to know how to interact with your female patients as well. You're going to want to be able to relate to them when they tell you about their clitoris." He slid her panties off her hips, then pulled her shirt over her head. Her arms came up willingly enough. This was happening too fast, and, head spinning, pussy aching, she let it. Whore, she thought as he gripped her breast in one hand and tookthe nipple of her other in his mouth. I'm a fucking whore who will suck and fuck and let myself be touched. The thought excited her. "There are many nerves in the nipples, and it's often agreat way have your partner stimulate you," he said, his tongue flicking over her nipple. He opened wide and took her breast inside his mouth, the entirety of her areola fitting in as he gently sucked. With his other hand he pinched her other nipple, palmed her breast, rubbed and squeezed it. "Oh," she gasped, a moan coming from between her soft, parted lips. The desk was clear. She shifted on top of it and laid down as hepressed her back against it. He continued to lick and suck on her nipples, alternating between them. The palm of his right hand slid down her chest, over her belly button, and down to her pussy. Her wetness greeted him there and, moaning, she spread her legs, hips gently rocking forward to meet his fingers. Wordlessly he moved his head down, kissing her navel, hands sliding down each of her legs until he gripped behind her knees and held her legs apart. Her toes curled before his tongue even touched her, but when it did, her whole body shivered. "You may find partners that go straight for the clitoriswith vigorous stimulation, but I would encourage you to have them go slow, and explore the entirety of the labia majora and labia minora. Especially as a virgin, taking time to really relax and prepare for intercourse will go a long way toward ensuring any pain you experience is minimized. Like this," he said, and began to lick. With the broad of his tongue, her professor licked from thebottom of her pussy all the way to the top, the pressure light. She shuddered as he flicked her clit, then licked from front to back on one side of her pussy, slowly, before coming back up on the other. She squirmed as he licked her, inching her pussy closer to his face and moaning for more. She took the back of his head in her hands, as he had done with her, and began to rock toward him, her legs and feet in the air. The feeling was unlike anything she had ever experienced. Then he began to use his hands. Her professor took his thumb and rubbed the entrance of hervagina while he sucked gently on her clit. Fingers wet, he ran his fingers along the length of her while flicking her clit with his tongue. With one hand behind her knee to hold her leg apart, he took the other and began pinching her nipple, thumb flicking it and running over it. Up and down his fingers ran, his tongue rapidly going over herclit top to bottom, top to bottom, faster and faster until he switched direction, this time flicking her clit from side to side. Eagerly she thrust her hips into him, pulling the back of his head hard onto her pussy. A growing sensation of the utmost intensity built within her andshe moaned loud, pressing his head into her as she thrust forward as hard as she could, orgasming all over his face. It felt like an explosion and her body roiled, her legs shuddering and she gasped and rode the long and hard orgasms to completion. Carefully he eased off, his tongue still flicking over her clit, her body shuddering violently with each flick as the aftershocks overtook her. He took her hips and pulled her to the edge of the desk, her asssitting against it now, legs still spread before him, swollen pussy still throbbing and still aching. "Is...is that it?" she gasped, eyes closed, trying tocatch her breath, unaware that he stood before her with his thick cock hard again and just inches from her opening. "Not quite," her professor said. She felt somethingdifferent press against her then and she looked up, shocked to see the head of his cock resting against her clit. "Wait...stop...what...what are you doing? You can't," shemoaned, already her hips and her throbbing, aching, swollen pussy toward him. "This can't...but you're..." He held her feet in each hand and pressed her legs higher intothe air, rubbing his cock all along the length of her pussy. Slowly he began to enter her, pressing inside a centimeter at a time and waiting while she relaxed and stretched her tight, wet cunt around him. He leaned forward and again took one of her nipples in hismouth, sucking, flicking it with his tongue. The thickness of his hard cock was incredible, the pressure as she stretched around him mounting as he eased inside her. There was pain, but as promised, it was bearable, and it paled in comparison to the weight of him on and inside her. After what seemed like an eternity, he was all the way inside her, deep, and slowly he began to back out before pressing back inside her again. "Oh my god," she whimpered, his face now buried in herneck, his mouth on the lobe of her ear. She began to rock her hips in time with his own, slowly, at first, then faster as she began accustomed to his cock thrusting in and out of her. He pulled all the way out before pressing all the way back inside her, again and again, the rhythm building. "Harder," she said, now moaning with each thrust. Thethickness and fullness of his cock, the way it filled her completely, the way she spread her her legs for him, her professor, the wrongness of it...it was all she could do but to grunt in ecstasy, her fertile, unprotected womb open to him. "Oh no, oh fuck!" she said, realizing that he wastaking her bare. "You can't cum inside me, please, don't cum inside me. I'm not on any birth control!" He said nothing, instead doing as she asked: harder he thrustinto her as she lay there on her back, exposed to him and giving herself over to her professor. He stood up, still fucking her, still pounding her hard now, and began to suck on her toes, taking her big left one in his mouth, one hand gripping her ankle and with the other rubbing her pussy, thumb flicking over her clit. He's not going to stop, she realized, rocking her hips towardhim and in time with his thrusts. He's going to cum inside me. He's going to shoot his sperm deep inside and I'm going to become pregnant. Together they moaned, grunted, his balls slapping against herass as his thick cock thrust in and out of her. She couldn't stop him, though. Wouldn't. Didn't want to. Knowing what this meant, what his raw, bare cock deep inside her fertile cunt as her feet bobbed in the air only made the pressure grow. As before when his mouth was on her it built, built, until she knew the moment had arrived. "I'm going to cum," she said, "oh god I'm going to cum," this time aware of what it meant to have an orgasm. "I'm cumming," he said, pumping her and looking intoher eyes. "I'm cumming." Together they orgasmed hard. He pressed inside her and she pushed her hips to meet him, his thick ejaculate dumping inside her tight, wet pussy. Over and over his cock throbbed, each time pushing more of his seed inside her. Together they panted to catch their breath, his cock still buried deep inside her. He released her ankles and her legs wrapped around him, feet crossing at the small of his back to pull him closer and hold him there, hold his cock and his sperm in her womb. She smiled. What else could he teach her, she wondered? She would have to find out. by FatherMarin for Literotica

Today on The Literary Life Podcast, Angelina Stanford and Thomas Banks are joined by Atlee Northmore to explore the various screen adaptations based on Howards End by E. M. Forster. They begin the discussion with the question of what is the good of translating one art form, in this case a book, into another art form, such as a screen play. They talk about the beauty of the Merchant Ivory film adaptation, while critiquing the casting and chemistry of the cast, sharing their favorite and least favorite scenes. In contrast, they praise the BBC-Starz series for its excellent adaptation, although it missed some important things that the 1992 film did include. Atlee also highlights some of the ways in which the screen adaptations serve as subtle visual cues for ideas from the story. In the end, Angelina, Thomas, and Atlee share thoughts on enjoying a film as a stand-alone work of art versus judging it as an adaptation of a novel. Speakers include Jason Baxter, Jenn Rogers, and Kelly Cumbee, in addition to Angelina and Thomas. Commonplace Quotes: Every poet, in his kind, is bit by him that comes behind. Jonathan Swift, from “Critics” Narrative prose, especially the novel, has taken, in modern societies, the place occupied by the recitation of myths and fairy tales in traditional and popular societies. Furthermore, the ‘mythic' structure of certain modern novels can be discerned, demonstrating the literary survival of major mythological themes and characters. Mircea Eliade Now, doesn't it seem absurd to you? What is the good of the ear if it tells you the same as the eye? Helen's one aim is to translate tunes into the language of painting and pictures into the language of music. It's very ingenious, and she says several pretty things in the process, but what's gained, I'd like to know? E. M. For the heart, I created a rice powder and a steamed jasmine rice accord; each given a creamier feel with a light hand of vanilla. The drydown is a soft bed of hinoki, cedarwood, and pine. The entire fragrance for me has the feeling of ascension: of flying ever skyward toward the celestial realm through clouds, pastel colored by the setting twilight sun.”All of the profits from the sale of Biwa will be donated to Robert's husband, Ron. Subscribe, rate, review, & share! --- CCP Blog - Episode 14 Phenakite and Sandalwood Combine for a Pineal Gland Activation Today, we embark on a fascinating journey into the depths of pineal gland activation, exploring the synergy between two sacred elements—phenakite and sandalwood. In this deep dive, Episode 14 unravels the intricate dance between two sacred elements, weaving together the ancient whispers of phenakite and the earthy wisdom of sandalwood. Together, they offer a profound alchemical journey into the realms of expanded consciousness and heightened spiritual awareness. Why Pineal Gland Activation? Before we plunge into the alchemical blend, let's pause to understand why activating the pineal gland is a pursuit worth undertaking. Nestled deep within the brain, the pineal gland has been revered across cultures as the "seat of the soul." Activating it opens gateways to higher dimensions, offering a glimpse into the boundless realms beyond our ordinary perception. Picture the pineal gland as a cosmic antenna, delicately positioned in the center of the brain. Encased in a fluid reminiscent of liquid crystal, this gland is responsive to light, serving as a bridge between the physical and spiritual dimensions. Activating the pineal gland, then, becomes a sacred journey to tap into these ethereal frequencies and explore the expanses of consciousness. The Phenakite and Sandalwood Synergy Now, let's unravel the mystical synergy between phenakite and sandalwood, a dynamic duo in the realm of spiritual exploration. Phenakite, a crystal often overlooked in mainstream discussions, is a powerhouse of pure energy. As a beryllium aluminum cyclosilicate, it resonates with the heart chakra, creating a sublime sense of lightness and divine connection. Its purity serves as a beacon, guiding us towards the frequencies essential for our spiritual evolution. Enter sandalwood, a venerable tree with a lineage deeply woven into spiritual practices. The essence derived from its mature heartwood has been cherished for centuries. Sandalwood, in its aromatic form, acts as a spiritual elixir, grounding and calming the spirit. Its unique ability to simultaneously ground and uplift makes it an ideal ally for our pineal gland activation journey. Heart-Brain Coherence: The Alchemy Unveiled The plot thickens as we uncover the heart-brain coherence facilitated by the marriage of phenakite and sandalwood. Imagine this coherence as a harmonious symphony, where the heart and brain synchronize to create a resonant field. This field transforms us into divine antennas, expanding our capacity to receive and transmit higher frequencies. Let's translate theory into practice through a sacred anointing oil ritual. Begin with ethically sourced phenakite elixir, infuse it into a base oil, and add a drop of pure sandalwood essential oil. As you anoint specific points—such as REN17, the third eye, and the crown chakra—acknowledge the incredible technologies within your own body, activating and harmonizing these sacred centers. Conclusion: A Voyage to Higher Realms As we navigate the labyrinth of pineal gland activation with phenakite and sandalwood, let the resonance of these sacred allies guide you on a transformative journey. May this activation lead you to the very threshold of higher realms, unlocking the mysteries of your own consciousness and revealing the interconnected tapestry of existence. Thank you for joining us in this profound exploration. If you found resonance in today's revelations, express your support by liking, commenting, and subscribing. For in-depth crystal classes or to delve further into stone medicine insights, visit our sanctuary at upperclarity.com. Until our next odyssey together, may your pineal gland activation be a radiant beacon, illuminating the path to higher frequencies. Stay enchanted, and we'll meet again in the next episode.

Pacific time and encouraged them to connect with the Visionary community on Instagram, Youtube, and all the major podcast channels. Self-Care Practices for Protective Energy and Rejuvenation Anne-Caroline guided the group through a series of self-care practices to help strengthen their protective energy, or "Chi," and wake up their bodies. The practices included knocking on the doors of their bodies, massaging the long marriage meridian, and gently tapping on the face and neck. Anne-Caroline also emphasized the importance of using high-quality flower water or oil, such as blue lotus and rose duet, for rejuvenation and antioxidant benefits. She encouraged the group to use these practices to start their day and to relax the neck, a thin muscle called the Platysma. Chinese Face Reflexology Techniques for Emotional Tension Relief Anne-Caroline discussed various techniques of Chinese face reflexology and acupressure for managing grief and emotional tension. She demonstrated how to use the Chow line, a specific point on the face, to alleviate tension and reduce stress. She also highlighted the importance of the stomach meridian and encouraged participants to practice massage techniques on their own faces. Anne-Caroline emphasized the benefits of these practices, especially for those who frequently clench their teeth. Acupressure and Face Yoga Techniques Demonstrated Anne-Caroline demonstrated acupressure points and face yoga techniques. She showed a point called "welcome fragrance" that helps prevent nasal congestion and promotes openness to new experiences. Another technique involved massaging the inner corner of the eye, which is relaxing and helps release tension. Anne-Caroline also mentioned that a tendency towards dry skin could indicate a metal imbalance. Minimalist Lymphatic Massage and Japanese Forest Blend for Detoxification Anne-Caroline demonstrated a minimalist lymphatic drainage massage to support good skin health and aid in detoxification. She emphasized the importance of the massage being slow and light. She also introduced a Japanese forest blend for the fall season, which is beneficial for strengthening the metal element. Additionally, Anne-Caroline and Dianne discussed the importance of the ' Lung 7' acupuncture point for grief processing and clearing the lungs. Dianne showed how to locate Lung 7 on the thumb side of the wrist and how to use the Shinrin Yoku oil in conjunction with the point for enhanced benefits.   Acupressure and Essential Oils for Self-Care Anne-Caroline and Dianne discussed the practice of using acupressure and essential oils for self-care and emotional release. They explained how to locate specific acupressure points, the use of a pointer finger to sense the 'Chi', and the importance of allowing the 'Chi' of the oil to meet the 'Chi' of the point. They also recommended keeping a roll-on essential oil with you for moments when you need to let go of something. Anne-Caroline emphasized the importance of having a personal story or affirmation while doing self-care practices, which can enhance their efficiency. Dianne added techniques for finding the acupressure points and highlighted the relationship between the lung and kidney points. Finally, Anne-Caroline led the group in a guided meditation to close the self-care tool, inviting participants to share any words or images that came to mind. Gratitude, Love, and Openness Discussion Anne-Caroline and Aisha led a discussion where they emphasized topics of gratitude, love, and openness. The participants, including Mica and an others, expressed their appreciation for the session. Anne-Caroline encouraged those listening to the recording or podcast to still submit their questions for consideration. Self-Care Oils and Essential Oils Discussed Josie and Anne-Caroline discussed the use of oils for self-care, specifically for skincare. They mentioned the use of rose and blue lotus oil, as well as the Yarrow Palm duo, which they found particularly beneficial for the face. They also suggested the use of essential oils like Frankencince, Sandalwood, and Geranium for specific skin concerns. Josie also mentioned her face caviar recipe, which includes a variety of oils. Conserving or protecting natural resources, like landscapes or products, can involve limiting people's access or use. When natural resources are connected to cultural, religious or spiritual practices, conservation needs to consider both biological and cultural diversity. Indian or red sandalwood, highly valued for its wood and oil, is a natural resource with significant economic and cultural value. The fragrant wood is used for carvings, furniture and in buildings, while the oil distilled from its heartwood has perfume, incense and medicinal applications. We speak with a chemist, an environmental historian and an environment and society researcher on why cultural preservation is key to the sustainable management of natural resources like sandalwood.Featuring Danny Hettiarachchi, chemist and adjunct research fellow at the University of Western Australia, Ezra Rashkow, an environmental and South Asian historian at Montclair State University in the US,, and Jules Pretty, professor of environment and society at the University of Essex in the UK.
