Current plans are for part of it to be converted to affordable housing, while the other parts will be carved out later. We wondered how malls in general are faring as there are plenty more that are performing marginally nationwide. We turn to Naveen Jaggi, President of Retail Advisory Services of the global real estate giant, JLL, for some answers. 4:50 pm How is the real estate market accommodating these changes? For example, how easy is it to turn an office building into residential condos, or for that matter a grocery store into a fitness club? Are there other ways to make money on these real estate investments, like apartment complex redos? We ask Simmi Jaggi, executive Vice President of Land Advisory services, also of the global real estate giant, JLL, to explain what these other trends are. 5:20 pm The general residential real estate market seems to be taking a hit due to high mortgage rates, but now it seems like it is a better buyers' market as most people are willing to negotiate. Also, in September, new rules will be in effect regarding the commissions that Realtors can get. How ae these changes affecting the marketplace? We turn to realtor Jincy Jose for some clarifications about this as well as Section 8 housing. Also stay tuned in for news roundup, views, sports and movie reviews. Made of bronze, it is located in a clearing on the temple site and is the tallest statue of Hanuman in the US. Once again, we turn to temple Board members Dr. Ravi Timarisa and his brother, Dr. Chary Timarisa to tell us how this project was envisioned and details of the ongoing festivities. 5:00 pm In the brutal summer sun of Houston, we are all advised to use plenty of sunscreen on exposed parts of the body. Yet a simple task like driving in short sleeves can give your left arm a tan and we think nothing about it. Skincare can be crucial as the body ages, but what works best on South Asians, who are also more susceptible to skin cancers? Dr. Tejas Desai of Heights Dermatology joins us today to explain what some common skin problems are and how to treat them. 5:30 pm The rape and murder of a 31 year-old doctor in Kolkata, India at the government run RG Kar Medical College on August 9 has led to waves of protests and strikes all across the nation with demands of justice and more safety procedures. It has also galvanized many outraged Houstonians and we turn to Sayoni Bhattacharya, Dinesh Adhikari and Mondakini Chatterjee from the Bengali community for their reaction. But people may not have thought much about its use in criminal justice. We turn today to Chris Handley who serves in the Harris County District Attorney's Office as its Chief of Innovation to learn how traditional legal skills are fusing together with forward-thinking technological and strategic practices. 5:00 pm We are joined once again by our frequent guest, Medicare Insurance Broker Kaushi Shah who will explain if a working person over 66.5 years of age can get Medicare A and opt out of Part B?  If they take both, can they still get Vision and Dental through their employer? She will also explain other related issues. 5:20 pm A new and virulent variant of Monkey Pox has been surging through Africa, with more than 14,000 cases reported in Congo alone. With heavy international travel between Africa and the Houston region, we wondered if this spread of Mpox is a cause for alarm for us, especially as 725 cases have been reported ocally so far.
