Join Roger Moore on a nostalgic journey through the history of Urban Gospel in the UK as he sits down with DJ Fitz, the former host of the BBC 1Xtra Gospel Show and a true pioneer of the scene.   In this first-ever interview, DJ Fitz shares his journey—from growing up in the church to embracing Hip-Hop, Dancehall, and US Garage (yes, even spinning Anne Nesby vinyls!). His story reveals the passion, challenges, and dedication it took to become the voice of Gospel on mainstream radio.   Though our community didn't always give him the flowers he deserved, his impact is undeniable. The Put it in the Books Show – Season 8 Episode 14: Grading the Mets, Saluting the Captain & Second Half HopesIt's the All-Star break hangover edition, and the whole gang—Farace, Rodriguez, Keith, and Producer Joe (behind the wall)—is back to hand out the most highly anticipated, hotly debated, and barely scientific report cards in all of Mets Nation. First up: first half grades for everything and everyone. The lineup gets graded (spoiler: Soto brings the curve way up), the pitching staff gets a harsh look, management faces its own midterm review, and yes, even the fans are getting a grade—good luck if you've ever left a game in the 7th inning. But it's not all tests and critiques. Saturday at Citi Field is all about the Captain, David Wright, as he finally gets his number retired. Expect stories, nostalgia, and a little envy from the current roster—because let's face it, nobody's made the hot corner look as smooth in Queens since. We'll also break down the real keys to the Mets' championship push in the second half: will the bullpen hold together with chewing gum and wishful thinking? Can the offense stay awake past the sixth inning? And is there a single person on the staff who can prevent a rain delay from lasting four hours? As for the crew: Farace hands out grades like expired Halloween candy, Rodriguez lobbies for a “participation trophy” for everyone, Keith finds a way to bring up 1986 (again), and Producer Joe is just happy to have WiFi strong enough to stream the episode.Buckle up, Mets fans—the second half is here, the hopes are high, and the sarcasm isn't going anywhere. Let's put it in the books—before someone asks us for a makeup exam. #Mets #PiitB #PutItInTheBooks

When adjusting to his new normal, it wasn't just the constant pain that plagued Derek, but the loss of identity and direction that made recovery insurmountable. However, through the vital support Derek and his family received from Semper Fi & America's Fund, Derek realized though his life was different now, it was still incredibly meaningful.    Follow Benjamin on X: @BenjaminHallFNC Learn more about your ad choices. The FOX True Crime Podcast w/ Emily Compagno

Whether it's tackling suspects, locating explosives, uncovering narcotics, or rescuing victims, K9s are fearless heroes willing to sacrifice it all to ensure our safety. Their service is not without consequences, and their work often results in health problems which lead to expensive veterinary costs that fall upon their handlers. That's why Congressional leaders are working for a legislative solution.   Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) discusses his bipartisan bill, the Honoring Our K9 Heroes Act, and shares how this legislation would help make medical care more accessible for the working dogs of our nation. Tillman served with distinction in Afghanistan, embodying selflessness and dedication to his country. His tragic death in 2004 highlighted the profound sacrifices made by service members and underscored his legacy of bravery and honor. Tillman's story continues to inspire many, symbolizing the ultimate commitment to a cause greater than oneself. Rocky Bleier's journey from the battlefield to the football field is a testament to his resilience and determination. After being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1968, he was soon called to serve in the Vietnam War, where he was severely injured by a grenade. Despite doctors doubting his ability to walk again, Bleier defied the odds, enduring extensive rehabilitation to return to professional football. His perseverance paid off as he became a key player in the Steelers' dynasty, winning four Super Bowl titles. Rocky Bleier's story is a powerful example of overcoming adversity and the enduring spirit of a true champion.   Alejandro Villanueva's remarkable career bridges his service as a U.S. Army Ranger and his role as an NFL offensive tackle. After graduating from West Point, he served three tours in Afghanistan, earning a Bronze Star for his valor. Transitioning to professional football, Villanueva joined the Pittsburgh Steelers, where his discipline and leadership shone on the field. Willie Mays is renowned not only for his extraordinary baseball career but also for his service as a U.S. Army soldier. Enlisted during the peak of his early career, Mays served in the Army from 1952 to 1953, missing significant playing time. Despite this interruption, he returned to Major League Baseball to become one of the greatest players of all time, known for his all-around skills, including hitting, fielding, and base running. Mays's military service exemplified his dedication and resilience, qualities that contributed to his legendary status in baseball. His dual legacy as both a sports icon and a veteran underscores his remarkable contributions to his country and the game. Bob Feller is revered both as a Hall of Fame pitcher for the Cleveland Indians and a dedicated U.S. Navy veteran. Enlisting in the Navy just days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Feller served with distinction aboard the USS Alabama during World War II, earning six campaign ribbons and eight battle stars. Despite losing nearly four prime years of his baseball career to military service, he returned to the majors and continued to dominate, achieving 266 career wins and numerous strikeout records. Feller's unwavering patriotism and exceptional athletic talent made him a national hero both on and off the field. His legacy is a testament to the values of service, sacrifice, and excellence.   Ted Williams is celebrated as one of baseball's greatest hitters and a distinguished U.S. military veteran. Serving as a pilot in both World War II and the Korean War, Williams interrupted his illustrious career with the Boston Red Sox to fly combat missions, earning numerous commendations for his bravery. Despite losing nearly five years of playing time to his military service, he returned to the majors and secured his legacy with a .344 career batting average and 521 home runs. Williams' dual commitment to his country and his sport showcases his extraordinary dedication and talent. His story is an enduring example of how athletic prowess and patriotic duty can coexist in a life of remarkable achievement.   Joe Louis, known as the "Brown Bomber," was not only a legendary heavyweight boxing champion but also a dedicated U.S. Army veteran. Holding the heavyweight title from 1937 to 1949, Louis's boxing career was briefly interrupted by his service during World War II. He enlisted in 1942 and spent the war years primarily in morale-boosting activities, including exhibition matches for the troops, which earned him great respect and admiration. Louis's contributions extended beyond the ring and battlefield, as he also played a significant role in breaking racial barriers in America. His legacy is a powerful blend of athletic excellence, patriotic service, and social impact.   Arnold Palmer, known as "The King" of golf, is celebrated both for his illustrious career in professional golf and his service in the U.S. Coast Guard. Before becoming a household name in the world of golf, Palmer enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1951, where he served for three years and honed his discipline and resilience. His military service provided him with a strong foundation that contributed to his success on the PGA Tour, where he won seven major championships and became a beloved figure in the sport. Palmer's charismatic personality and pioneering spirit helped popularize golf, making it accessible to a broader audience. His legacy endures not only through his contributions to golf but also through his example of service and sportsmanship. In the NBA, he played his entire career with the San Antonio Spurs, earning numerous accolades including two NBA championships and induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
