Multi-platinum recording artist Clay Aiken is back with a stunning new version of the Bing Crosby classic "Do You Hear What I Hear?," the first single from his highly anticipated Christmas album Christmas Bells are Ringing, set to be released on November 22nd. Aiken's unique interpretation infuses the classic carol with his signature vocal warmth and emotional depth making it a song for our times. Written in 1962 by Noël Regney and Gloria Shayne as a plea for peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis, "Do You Hear What I Hear?" is timeless in its message, yet even more resonant today. Aiken reflects, "The whole American political climate over the past few years hasn't really given us much in the way of hope or optimism. As much as I wanted to believe I might be able to make some positive change in that world, I've realized that music often does a better job of that." Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Ron Fair, "Do You Hear What I Hear?" is the first release from Aiken's first studio album in over a decade, following a hiatus from music which found Aiken running for Congressional office in North Carolina, and raising his now teenage son. The album, Christmas Bells are Ringing, marks a return to the holiday music that solidified Aiken's place as a household name in 2004, when his debut holiday album Merry Christmas With Love broke records, selling nearly 300,000 copies in its first week. That album went platinum, becoming the best-selling holiday album of 2004 and earning Aiken three Billboard Music Awards. The new record boasts fresh takes on holiday staples like Nat King Cole's "Caroling, Caroling" and Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime", as well as a lush reinvention of "Merry Christmas, Darling" by the Carpenters (one of Clay's musical inspirations) and a show-stopping rendition of "Pure Imagination" which reimagines the Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory classic as a fitting soundtrack for the holiday season.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Hello you beautiful people! It's another packed show and we start off by looking at a tradition from Yorkshire here in the UK. The Yorkshire Christmas Pie was a multiple bird roast inside a pie.Alas it's not really a thing these days, but I give you a recipe so you can go and make your own. Then Bob Baker our podcast barman looks at the word 'Torch' in Do You Hear What I Hear.Next up it's the quiz. I scored a respectable 8, see if you can do better.A couple of years ago Benji Pearson asked me to help him design his Halloween costume of Jacob Marley, well this year he's looking at being The Ghost of Christmas Present. We discuss what he looks like in What The Dickens. Then Bob is back with Spread a Smile of Joy and he's suggesting a lovely concept called Santa's Kindness Ornament and Journal from Demdaco. Here's a link:https://www.demdaco.com/santas-kindness-ornament-journal/This episode's version of A Christmas Carol is 1200 Ghosts. It's a YouTube mash up that takes clips from 400 versions of A Christmas Carol and puts them together to tell the story. It's definitely worth a watch:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF_rKE3nIoIGet in touch:Email: totalchristmas@gmail.comWebsite: totalchristmaspodcast.comMerry Christmas!
Hello you beautiful people. It's another episode with me, your lovely host.We open the show with a Christmas Not So Classic. It's called Christmas Isn't Christmas and it's from Bon Jovi. It was only released last year but I hadn't heard a thing about it.Have a listen here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO5HaSSus5IThen Bob Baker is here to look at why us Brits called Bachelor Party a Stag Do, in Do You Hear What I Hear. Then it's The Quiz, and don't panic, we're back to doing it the good old way. I scored a measily 6, but it's not an easy one. After that Bob returns with Spread A Smile of Joy, and why not literally spread a smile with a bit of humour in your daily interactions. This episode's version of A Christmas Carol is The Stingiest Man in Town starring Basil Rathbone and it's okay I suppose. You can watch it here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3Kh90MfZ-EThis episode's recommendation, thanks to Natalie Bickel, is to write a short story for the Touchpoint Press Christmas Anthology.Want to learn a bit more, check out this link:https://touchpointpress.com/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3opr-9j47rMWEl-HwtsyVqI4F7bmId7NKrWraNg17vGXv5geilFMfpkDw_aem_s30eDy6Ab1GM9kSHWqHihAGet in touch.Email: totalchristmas@gmail.comWebsite: totalchristmaspodcast.comMerry Christmas.
Merry Christmas you beautiful people. It's a packed show and we start off with with our exciting new quiz Santa Banter. I describe a situation and you have to work out the rhyme. I bought it at the car boot sale and I'm testing it on you lucky people... probably only this once.Next up is Bob Baker with Do You Hear What I Hear and he's look at 'pants'. Bob's done the research and it's pretty darn interesting. Then we take a look at Cozy Little Christmas by Katy Perry. It was a question in last week's quiz, and I thought I'd never heard of it, turns out I had and it's not as obscure as I thought. Plus the video is fun.Have a watch here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg8Gk1iXEIsAfter that it's this episode's version of A Christmas Carol and it is not very good at all. It's called "Mrs Scrooge, A Christmas Poem" by Carol Ann Duffy, and it's a modern take on the legend telling us what happened to Scrooge's widow.I read it so you don't have to.Then Bob is back with Spread A Smile Of Joy and it was suggested by yours truly. Why not tidy up your local area with a bit of litter picking, you'll feel great and your neighbours will be pleased as well.Check out Bob's pod here:https://4fpodcast.buzzsprout.com/Last week we looked at the history of Christmas trees, this week we're looking at the history of one particular tree, perhaps the world's most famous Christmas tree, the one at the Rockefeller centre. Welcome to the episode.First up our podcast barman Bob Baker looks at the dichotomy of how is Brits use the word 'chuffed' in Do You Hear What I Hear. This episode we look at the Ducktales episode Last Christmas from season 2 of the reboot in 2018. It's not really a version of a Christmas Carol but it does feature the 3 ghosts and let me tell you in no uncertain terms it is crap. Then it's the quiz. I scored 8, let me know how you got on.Then Bob returns with Spread A Smile Of Joy and this one was suggested to us from our Scandinavian American correspondent Benji Pearson. This was a televised Christmas carol church service in which Regis Philbin read out the nativity story accompanied by a load of puppets created by Jim Henson's workshop. Our Boxing Day '22 show fills in for VI Kal. Ianiuarius. KITM gave the staff the whole day off for Christmas this year, allowing us to be here all the earlier next morning for Boxing Day! The first rule of Boxing Day is you do not sing Boxing Day carols. Instead, David Waldman and Greg Dworkin of course croon only the best Christmas songs written by Jewish men, (All of them.) including that anti-nuclear annihilation ditty, “Do You Hear What I Hear?”, and the Ukrainian export, “Carol of the Bells”. It's also Monday, so Greg's here to review with us all of the punditry that he has heard and seen recently. Boxing Day is big in the UK, primarily with those not freezing or starving to death. In a decade or so, survivors might look back at Brexit and appreciate it more. Over our holiday weekend, 13 people died in a blizzard in Buffalo, New York. People with a sense of humor clearly not burdened by “wokeness” vandalized more power substations and trafficked migrants to the sidewalk outside Vice President Kamala Harris' residence. Donald Trump said some Donald Trump things. Elon Musk will be remembered in the same breath as the Mona Lisa, if she was a tech bro corporate bossist troll. Why tweet when you can tusk or toot or something? The great detectives in the January 6 committee deduced the culprit, but now righting his wrongdoings are our responsibility. Dominion Voting Systems should sue Trump for defamation, but would it be worth it? Stefanie Lambert might have defamed more people for Trump than any other lawyer. TFG does not look like a shoe in for the Republican 2024 primary. Neither does Ron DeSantis. Volodymyr Zelensky inspired with his Christmas message. Useful idiots over here would rather give up Christmas than embrace Zelensky.
Join us for a special Christmas Eve message with Pastor Adam as he draws inspiration from the timeless Christmas carol, "Do You Hear What I Hear?" In a world filled with noise and distractions, Pastor Adam reflects on the significance of focusing on God's word. He emphasizes that today, we have the privilege of hearing God's voice through His word. Tune in and get ready for a message that will challenge your expectations around hearing the voice of God.

In this episode, I offer some of my piano arrangements for your use in any gathering where you might want some background music. A bit about my style of arrangements: I very much like dissonant sounds. Dissonance refers to a lack of harmony. Dissonant music sometimes makes people feel a bit uneasy. Because of this feeling, dissonant music is often used to create tension in films. In the last 10 years or so, I have used dissonance in many of my arrangements because of the unique sound. Not everyone will be a fan of this music, but it is what I am currently working on and I thought I would share it.This album contains:The Christmas Song - pianoDo You Hear What I Hear - pianoAll Alone Am I - pianoI'll Be Home For Christmas - pianoTheme from Knots Landing TV Show - piano, strings and percussionSilent Night - pianoEmpty Chairs At Empty Tables (from Les Miserables) - pianoTheme from Seattle TV Show - piano and stringsFrosty The Snowman - pianoI hope you enjoy the album. Happy Holidays !~Joey
