But the truth is, every person's greatest problem (and that includes children) is sin. And because of that, everyone's greatest need is Jesus. If a child's deepest struggle is sin, and their ultimate need is a Savior, then an ideal family is not one without flaws, but one where the rhythms of home life reflect the rhythms of the gospel. I recently went to Hawaii with my family for vacation. And guess what I learned?  Even in paradise, my family isn't perfect. HA! There is no such thing as an ideal family, unless we change our definition of what that means.   

Is your family ideal? No one has the perfect family, including Jesus. Over the course of history, God honored his promises even through Jesus' messy family lineage.
