When "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" was issued in 1995, some called it a "duh document". Today, it is a subject of controversy, dismissed by some as outdated and praised by others as a powerful, prophetic anchor. This lesson breaks down the nine paragraphs of this crucial declaration, understanding why the family is central to the Creator's plan. The Plan of God: Marriage between a man and a woman is "ordained of God" and the family is "central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children". The pre-mortal realm involved accepting God's plan to "obtain a physical body" and "gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection". Gender is Essential: Gender (male and female) is an "essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose". All human beings are "beloved spirit son[s] or daughter[s] of heavenly parents". Eternal Families: The divine plan of happiness enables "family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave" through "sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples". The Divine Design and Responsibility Parenthood & Chastity: God's first commandment to Adam and Eve to "multiply and replenish the earth remains in force". The sacred powers of "procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife". We affirm the "sanctity of life". Mothers and Fathers: By divine design , fathers are to "preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection". Mothers are primarily responsible for the "nurture of their children". Both are obligated to help one another as "equal partners". Success Principles: "Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ". Successful marriages are maintained on principles of "faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities". The Warning and the Call: The Proclamation warns that the "disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets". It calls upon "responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society". The final week of the Divine Design series focuses on sexual temptation. With the key idea being that “sex is different”. Followers of Jesus should approach sexual temptation by grounding their identity in Christ as children of God. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 6 and Matthew 5, we see that while culture may say “I have the right to do anything,” not everything is beneficial, and sexual sin uniquely affects a person's own body. Because sex unites two people into “one flesh,” believers are called to treat their bodies as belonging to the Lord and empowered by His resurrection life. Scripture commands Christians to flee sexual immorality, take temptation seriously, and remove anything that leads them into sin, as Jesus' strong language about cutting off what causes stumbling illustrates. Overall, sex is spiritually significant, sexual sin is uniquely damaging, and God calls His people to resist temptation through decisive action and a clear understanding of who we are in Christ.

Today we're trashing feminism some more, because it obviously deserves it. Feminism is not only unbiblical, it's extremely destructive for all of society. We'll talk about why Christian podcasters like Allie Beth Stuckey shouldn't defend their feminism while claiming to follow Christ, and why Christianity itself is a patriarchy, by God's design. It's time for biblical men to stop waiting for permission from feminists and take back the authority God gave them. We'll also discuss more of the Trump administration's mistakes, including this ridiculous new 50-year mortgage idea that proves how far from wisdom our leaders have fallen.

The second week of the series, "Divine Design", addresses our idea of sexual identity explores how our culture often ties worth, value, and purpose to sexuality, while Scripture teaches that our truest identity is as children of God. Our sexuality is a part of who we are, but not what defines us—our identity is received, not achieved, rooted in God's love and grace through Jesus. From that foundation, we are called to remember daily who we are, reject false labels, and trust the Spirit to help us walk faithfully in God's design, even when obedience is costly or lonely. Ultimately, we are called to remember that we are deeply loved, adopted, and redeemed by God—invited to live not from shame or striving but from the secure identity of being His children.

The first week of the series, "Divine Design", explores God's perfect purpose for sex. When it comes to our modern culture, God's purpose for sex is often under-communicated and thus misunderstood. Through God's word we see that God designed sex with a purpose and that it is meant to be sacred, shared, and safe. In the midst of that, God invites us to recognize that our desires aren't bad, but they're broken, and He provides healing and holiness.

God made marriage to be the single occasion in creation where two people permanently become one as a man marries a woman. This oneness pictures and gives foretaste to the union all believers will have with Christ in eternity. God loves the gift of marriage and calls us to invest in it.

There's a protocol of Heaven, and the design is an invitation. God's plan has always been relationship. Understanding His protocol is key to fully entering into it. In this message, Bill Johnson teaches on the order found throughout Scripture and how it impacts the modern-day believer. Order is divine intention put in place as guideposts to living in the fullness Jesus paid for. It's an invitation to a relationship with God and the beauty of holiness.
