The Tip Sheet celebrates a big week for Abbi Church, Kennedy Cherrington and Rory Owen with the 3 Parramatta NRLW stars earning selection NSW and QLD in the upcoming State of Origin series. Sixties and Forty20 share in the milestone moment for Abbi and Rory and cheer for Kennedy's triumphant return to the arena. The podcast then turns to a busy weekend of footy - even with the NRL on the bye. The Junior Representative plows on for the Eels with the Lisa Fiaola, Tarsha Gale and SG Ball Cup squads all vying for a berth in their respective Grand Finals. The girls will face the Canterbury Bulldogs in both grades while the boys take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Sixties and Forty20 run through the line-ups for each team and reflect upon the previous meetings this season for each grade and how that could influence each outcome this weekend. The Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup are also taking the Rabbitohs in Round 8 as they travel to Redfern for a Saturday double-header. Both teams are well positioned inside the Top 4 coming into this weekend and have the chance to consolidate their positions against struggling South Sydney outfits.
What range do the boys see the Eels finishing this year? How well does their recruitment stack up against the competition? The Tip Sheet tackles these questions and more as Sixties and Forty20 are joined by their good friend Ham on a week there the Parramatta Eels are at camp in Lennox Head. The NRL and NRLW squads have been bolstered by re-signings. Rueben and Kennedy Cherrington have both recommitted to the Eels while Luca Moretti has also extended his stay with the club. Big changes are coming to the Junior Representatives as the competitions move to a Top 8 finals system. Sixties also breaks down the results from their final trials held against the Penrith Panthers. Vegas is just around the corner and the itinerary is loaded to the brim, what stands out for the boys in year two of the NRL's bold venture into the States? Beyond that there is truly a bizarre slate of NRL news this week from Anthony Seibold having a gunshot accidentally discharged into his garage by a neighbour to the Bulldogs suddenly parting ways with their NRLW coach.
The NRLW are on the cusp of the finals but in an insane twist, even a win over the Roosters and the excellent 6-3 record that would come with it doesn't guarantee them a shot at the finals. Sixties and Forty20 break down exactly why a prospective 66% win rate season could somehow seet them miss the finals in this episode of The Tip Sheet. Kennedy Cherrington and Rachael Pearson were both honoured with awards as the show celebrates their recognition. A review of the weekend results in NRLW and HNWP saw the Eels bag two wins before the boys looks at the huge upcoming game against the Roosters in the NRLW and why the Tigers and Titans hold the keys to Parramatta progressing. Week 1 of the NRL finals is in the bag and that means a full review of the round as the boys cover the drama out of four games. How much did the officiating impact the first week of finals footy, can Cronulla get the King Kong sized gorilla off their back next week after a hefty loss to the Storm? The show covers the most recent developments on Josh Addo-Carr before signing off with a fun look at the Wests Tigers congratulating Luke Brooks on his win over the Bulldogs.
The Tip Sheet previews three games this week as the NRL, NRLW and HNWP take to the field. Sixties and Forty20 reject the Spoon Bowl and embrace the Mariana Trench Trophy ahead of the Parramatta Eels and Wests Tigers fighting over who avoids finishing last. What lead is safe this weekend? Who will finish this cursed season strongly for the Blue & Gold? Finals are beyond the HNWP but they have a chance to finish these season strongly after their stunning upset of the Wenty Magpies last week. How do they look as they prepare for Mounties? A home game against the Titans is on the docket for our NRLW but they are going to without star forward Kennedy Cherrington. Breanna Eales will take her place but what do the team need to do to both overcome the injury blow and correct course back towards the finals?
The beginning of the end or an end of the beginning? The curtains have closed on the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg while the NRL play out their final game of the season in the titular Spoon Bowl. Sixties, Forty20 and Clint dive into the last proper week of the NRL for the Eels while also reviewing how the NRLW stand after the loss of another key player in Kennedy Cherrington. Elliot Whitehead and Trent Robinson dominated headlines in the NRL following an ugly off-field spat deriving from an injury to Brandon Smith. Who is in the wrong, who is right? Smith wasn't the only injury for the Roosters on the weekend after they were ravaged in a tough loss to the Raiders. Are they still contenders?
Have the Parramatta Eels finally found their heir to Clinton Gutherson? The Tip Sheet covers reports that the club is close to securing talented Penrith prospect Isaiah Iongi on a 3-year deal as Sixties, Forty20 and Clint offer their perspectives on the potential signing and other roster developments. Kennedy Cherrington celebrated an important miletone as she became the first Eel to reach 25 games in the NRLW. She also led her side to a tough victory over the Wests Tigers on Sunday night as the show looks at how well the ladies are travelling. The NRL and NRLW weekend wraps cover a hard forught weekend for the NRLW while the NRL saw the Storm steal an important march on the Panthers in the race for the minor premierip in a game that also saw Nathan Cleary get hurt. In a relatively quiet week for NRL news, the Roosters re-signed Spencer Leniu and Connor Watson while the Sea Eagles have linked up with the Castleford Tigers to boost their development pathways.

The Tip Sheet is a one-man show this week as Forty20 tackles massive NRL and NRLW games against the Brisbane Broncos. The podcast starts with the NRLW and their mixed week of team news. Triumphant returns for Rachael Pearson and Elsie Albert were soured by the news that Kennedy Cherrington will be sitting out for a month for a dangerous throw. So how can the Eels topple the Broncos? Forty20 looks at their improvement against Newcastle and how the steps they need to take from there with Pearson and Albert back in the fold. Even so, it will be a herculean undertaking and a win for the ages if they can bring it all together. The NRL face an equally fearsome task as they search for a way to bring down the red hot Brisbane outfit. The Broncos have been boosted by the return of Adam Reynolds as well as a host of players clearing fitness checks for Friday night. For Parramatta, 'BA' has switched up his left edge once again as he looks to find a combination that can match up with Brisbane's outstanding right edge. Forty20 breaks down what the Eels need to do and who needs to deliver big game performances if the Blue & Gold are to spring the upset and catapult themselves back into the race for the premiership.
The Tip Sheet fires up this week as Sixties, Forty20 and Clint unload on the NRL greenlighting an incredibly dangerous chest slam tackle technique. The fallout from Graham Annesley's Round 23 debrief continues with Annesley's declaration that Clinton Gutherson had clear intent to strip the ball in his try saving tackle on Jacob Liddle. The boys don't hold back as they unload on the wildly inconsistent directives the officials operate under and the bizarre mixed messages the NRL is sending on concussion safety. Brad Arthur has tweaked his left edge again ahead of the critical game against the Brisbane Broncos and the show looks at how the new look left side shapes up. In the NRLW space, Rachael Pearson and Elsie Albert are finally back but Kennedy Cherrington will miss the next month after copping a 4-game suspension for a dangerous throw. The NRL and RLPA have put aside hostilities for the moment to enter negotiations once again...can they find common ground? Corey Horsburgh has a shiny new deal while Payne Haas is chasing market re-setting money. The boys look at who will be better value and what Haas should be considering as he looks for a monster contract.
Jack Wighton in hot water for questioning a referee's integrity, Zac Lomax escaping sanction for a head slam, Marata Niukore's sin-bin slap and Kennedy Cherrington facing a stint on the sideline for a shocking dangerous throw. It was a wild and, at times inconsistent weekend of refereeing. That's just some of the topics Paul Crawley, Russell Jackson and Adam Mobbs dive into as they also break down how Round 23 shook up the top eight. Sixties and Forty20 are live from Jacks Bar & Grill at Parramatta Leagues Club as they discuss the 26-20 victory as well as all of the other results for the Eels from the weekend. Rookie back Arthur Miller-Stephen scored the opening try of the game while on debut and the boys look at his day. Some mistakes were made but the injection of youth and energy was clear and the team rallied around their debutante. The boys go on to look at where the Eels let themselves down and how they engineered the win in spite of it all. The NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg put together impressive wins while the NRLW battled fiercely against the Knights with Kennedy Cherrington send off for roughly half the game. The show wraps up each game and then looks at what lies ahead for every grade.

The series is already over but State of Origin approaches its official zenith ahead of Game 3 as The Tip Sheet cheers on the three Parramatta superstars who will give their all to prevent the sweep. Sixties, Forty20 and Clint talk Origin, Eels, short drop outs and plenty more in a sprawling edition of the show. On the Parramatta front the final takes from the loss to the Warriors are laid out. The NRLW has appointed co-captains in Kennedy Cherrington and Rachael Pearson while Team List Tuesday sees the Eels rolling out a formidable line-up. Can the Blues prevent the sweep? The boys argue about who will win on Wednesday night as Billy Slater looks to put the cap on an impressive Origin series. Data on the success of short drops outs has come out which leads to a fun discussion on the meta impact short drop outs have had on the game as well as the game theory behind why you should always attempt them. There is more cap controversy in the NRL after the Bulldogs allegedly offered Gold Coast star Tino Fa'asuamaleaui shares in a pub as part of a contract offer. The panel are unified in their disagreement with the principle but there are voices in the media that like the idea. Forty20 and Clint point to the slippery slope this can lead to and how it ultimately only benefits a select handful of clubs.
