Gus boldly predicts the Raiders will finish as minor premiers and have a very good chance to go all the way. Lachlan Galvin is likely to have a tough afternoon against his old side, the Wests Tigers, as Gus highlights the young player’s level-headedness. The Melbourne Storm’s premiership chances without Jahrome Hughes are debated, alongside speculation about Ryan Papenhuyzen’s potential move to Rugby360, with Gus emphasising that “money isn’t everything.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Mary K jumps on board to help Sixties and Forty20 unpack another wild week in the NRL and NRLW. Phil Rothfield teased Parramatta fans with a rumour of a potential backrow addition - is his mail right and who could it be? The Knights have added a second recruit from the Eels to alongside Dylan Brown - could it be his future partner in the halves? Jason Ryles is earning respect in spades across the code with the rookie coach drawing rave reviews from the likes of Andrew Voss and Matty Johns. The general code chaos is no lie with seismic movements due to injuries, retentions and other roster calls. Jahrome Hughes signs on until the end of 2030 with Melbourne in the same week he gets rubbed out for the remainder of the regulation season. What does this mean for Jonah Pezet? Canberra have told Trey Mooney and Chevy Stewart they are free to look elsewhere while the Titans have apparently down the same for Alofiana Khan-Pereira and Beau Fermor. Does any of this line up for the Eels?
With the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup back from global byes, the Preview Podcast is also back in full stride as Sixties and Forty20 are joined by Chris Ricketts to analyse the upcoming round from top to bottom. Coverage starts with the Flegg where the Eels welcome back Australian Schoolboy representative Cameron Bamblett and have a new face debuting in Lorima Rokosuka. The Eels are looking to keep touch with the Top 4 in the stretch to the finals and take on the Rabbitohs at Kellyville. The NSW Cup also face South Sydney and have a debutante of their own as Lorenzo Talataina continues his exciting progression in 2025 while the Eels field their strongest line-up in some time as Bailey Simonsson, Kelma Tuilagi and Jordan Samrani add some serious oomph to the squad. Can the HNWP make it three games on the trot? They have a derby match with the Panthers on Sunday and will be looking to catapult themselves up the ladder with a third straight victory. A bounceback win is the goal for the NRLW in Round 5 though and they get star forward Kennedy Cherrington back on board as they look to slay the Dragons in Magic Round. Jason Ryles has named an unchanged team in Round 22 as the Eels face the Storm head on. It will be a daunting task as Melbourne welcome back Ryan Papenhuyzen and Cameron Munster but the Southern outfit have lost Jahrome Hughes.
It's just Bona and Mig on deck this week with Deano out, but the CEO chat rolls on. The 6'Some Cup top 4 is all but locked in, and shoulder injuries are suddenly all the rage across the league. The boys ask the big questions—will the Storm stumble without Jahrome Hughes? Did Jack Wighton get stitched up at the judiciary? And can Lachlan Galvin handle the wrath of Tigers fans this weekend? Plus, Bona battles his emotions as Chad Townsend's retirement tour tugs at his heartstrings, and we preview all the Round 22 matchups. Plenty of laughs, debates, and CEO dilemmas as always! This week is all about which Origin players will and won’t back up. And given Nathan’s Cleary’s huge travel from Perth to New Zealand, he’s been left out for the Panthers and is therefore a popular sell. Meanwhile, non-Origin Storm players are suddenly the most in-demand players in the competition given they have finished all byes for the season, with Eli Katoa and Jahrome Hughes particularly popular. Also factor in injuries to Haumole Olakau'atu and Keaon Koloamatangi, and it’s a huge trading week for SuperCoaches. Join Jett Hatton, Rob Sutherland and SuperCoach Whisperer for the lowdown. The Warriors are seeking redemption this afternoon against the Gold Coast Titans after squandering a 14-0 lead against the Melbourne Storm last week at Mount Smart. The home side started strong but struggled to maintain momentum in the second half as Storm and Kiwis halfback Jahrome Hughes took control. As a result, the Warriors extended their losing streak against the Storm to 16 matches. The Titans will be looking to bounce back from losing to the Wests Tigers. The Titans, currently at the bottom of the ladder, failed to convert nine line-breaks into a victory. The Tigers, who had lost nine games in a row, managed to secure an 18-10 win. Assistant Coach Richard Agar joined Jason Pine to review last week's loss and take a look at today's match. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
