Missing Mitchell Moses and Zac Lomax, playing their 5th debutante of the season and down Will Penisini for 78 minutes of the game - the Parramatta Eels delivered their most impressive showing of the season as they rolled the Manly Sea Eagles with aggression and physicality. The Tip Sheet reacts live to a huge win for Jason Ryles as Sixties and Forty20 look at the big moments and what it means for the Blue & Gold as they provisionally ascend 4 places on the ladder.
The Tip Sheet previews Parramatta's Round 12 clash against the Manly Sea Eagles with both teams impacted by State of Origin. Sixties and Forty20 discuss how the Eels can overcome the losses of Mitchell Moses and Zac Lomax and whether another debut is on the cards. The NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg also take on the Sea Eagles with the Flegg facing the exceedingly rare circumstances of meeting their opposition in consecutive weeks. Graduates from the SG Ball are now entrenching themselves into the Under 21s and the boys look at how the team is faring in this transitional period. News out of Parradise surrounding a long-rumoured quartet of re-signings is also on the docket while Sixties breaks down the latest developments in the Lachlan Galvin situation as he and the Wests Tigers accelerate towards a parting.
Origin now looms large and its impact on the Parramatta Eels is significant as the Blue & Gold lose star plays Mitchell Moses and Zac Lomax. The Tip Sheet discusses how Jason Ryles plans to navigate the chaos of representative footy as Sixties, Forty20 and Chris Ricketts get stuck into a massive docket of news. Stunning solo tries, shock coaching news for the Bears and a wave of injuries dominate the NRL news this week as the show slices up all the choice bits of information from the rest of the code.
AJ and Rhys have reunited to go through the Origin teams, we go through the controversial Terrell May omission and the big bolters picked by the QLD Maroons and NSW Blues. We then change tact to the Women's Origin and debate Ali Brigginshaw's future as a QLD Maroon. Plus, we make a mockery of Brad Donald's decision to omit Olivia Kernick after she singlehandedly destroyed the QLD pack. Onto the NRL games, Parramatta were way too strong forNewcastle as once we again we hold Adam O'Brien accountable for his horriblestate of Newcastle's attack while Zac Lomax gets praised universally. The Roosters rue many mistakes in their loss to the Dogs, while we praise the unsung Bulldogs heroes that got them home. Super Saturday saw a scrappy Warriors win over the Dolphins after Peter Gough made the howler of season 2025. Manly found their groove despite Turbo playing broken and Jurbo being KO'ed. Manly's pack gets them home despite the Cowboys mixing their halves combination with little success. Then the Sharks and Storm play the game of the year in season 2025.Sunday's matches are recapped quickly as the Dragons takeadvantage of a poor Broncos side as Rhys launches into a tirade. Canberra proved too strong for a poor Titans side while Keaon and Terrell showed their stuff for really no reason as NSW didn't pick them.
The Parramatta Eels and Newcastle Knights are both desperate for a win in Round 11 - so who prevails? The Tip Sheet previews a critical game for the Blue & Gold as Jason Ryles finally gets to deploy Mitchell Moses and Zac Lomax within the same game. Ryles also hands out an opportunity to another rookie this week with Toni Mataele earning his first NRL cap. Can the Eels win the day and close the gap on a crowded bottom of the ladder? Originally only the NSW Cup were scheduled to be in action this week but the Jersey Flegg Cup will play a catch-up against the Sea Eagles after their postponed Round 4 clash. Both teams have a horde of reinforcements this week after tough losses against the Bulldogs - will it be enough to bounce back?
State of Origin selections are just around the corner and SuperCoaches are hoping to cash in.In particular, one of Zac Lomax and Brian To'o is on the verge of losing a spot for NSW and SuperCoaches are ready to pounce. There are still a harrowing handful of days to navigate but the Parramatta Eels are poised to finally unleash MOMAX on the NRL after nearly 3 months of the competition. The Tip Sheet explores how and what Mitchell Moses and Zac Lomax can do to elevate the team as the Eels hunt their third win of the season. The other TLT bomb comes in the form of the NRL debut for Toni Mataele. Sixties and Forty20 look at Toni's path to first grade and why he has earned the call up against the Newcastle Knights. The NRL news becomes a PNG takeover this week as Joey Grima joins the show to bring the latest from Papua New Guinea and how the expansion franchise is warming to the colossal task of joining the NRL. Joey, a key figure in shaping and developing the PNG pathways, shares his candid insights on the critical process he is overseeing while also reflecting on how the junior Eels fared in 2025.

The Tip Sheet tackles the Top End for one final time as the Parramatta Eels take on the Canberra Raiders in Darwin in Round 6. They will do so without Zac Lomax after news broke on Wednesday about a fractured foot for Parramatta's star recruit. Sixties and Forty20 look at who replaces him and how the Eels can attack the robust Canberra Raiders outfit. There is more on the docket though with the boys previewing a double header at Lidcombe Oval as the Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup also host the Green Machine in their Round 6 clashes.

Zac Lomax is likely to miss the opening game of the 2025 State of Origin series after suffering a fractured foot in Parramatta’s win over the Dragons. Despite the injury, he kicked the match-winning field goal in golden point. With just six weeks to recover and Origin I set for May 28, Lomax faces a race against time. His absence creates a selection headache for Blues coach Michael Maguire, with names like Jacob Kiraz and Tolutau Koula now in the mix as possible wing replacements.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's taken 5 rounds of football but all teams are off the mark in the NRL. The Eels win over the Dragons was especially sweet for former St George Illawarra player Zac Lomax (34:10) who admitted to Andrew Moore, Luke Lewis and John Gibbs that this was the 1st match he looked for when the fixtures came out. The Dolphins had big win over the Titans despite Ray Stone spending time in the bin as part of the NRL crackdown on head high shots. Phins lock Max Plath (1:10:53) - who picked up the 3 points in the ABC Players of the year award - told the team that they've been working on playing with 12 on the field since pre-season. The Cowboys picked up their 1st win last week and followed up in round 5. Hooker Reece Robson (2:50:16) explained the difference that win made and also admitted that he's a boyhood Manly fan! Plus catch Pat Richards (3:14:15) looking back at the Tigers 2005 Premiership win, Mike Eden (2:22:00) on Rugby League Point Scorers and a chance to get to know Michael Carayannis (1:30:10).
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is 'never get involved in a land war in Asia' - but only slightly less well-known is this: 'Never go in against the Eels when death is on the line'!". The Wire in the title, The Princess Bride in the body - we are crossing all the streams today. Yes sir, yes ma'am! The Parramatta Eels are finally on the board in 2025 and typically it comes in the most pulsating, dramatic and damn story-book fashion as Zac Lomax drilled the game-winning field goal in golden point. On a day where Clinton Gutherson made it his mission to sink the Eels even deeper into misery, players all over the park stood up to be counted. Sixties and Forty20 come to you live to share their thoughts and emotions on a breakthrough win for Jason Ryles.

The Tip Sheet tucks into the final week of trials as Sixties and Forty20 look at everything happening at Parramatta and beyond with all 17 franchises gearing up. Jason Ryles has kept some serious fire power in reserve against the Wests Tigers but fans get their first looks at Zac Lomax and Jack Williams as the boys break down Team List Tuesday. A final review of the victory over the Knights as well as the weekend results from the Junior Representatives rounds of the news from Parradise before the show turns over to the NRL news. A series of blowout wins marked a rather uncompetitive week of trials results so what did the boys gleam from their rivals? The show recaps a handful of market moves as the Knights, Warriors and Rabbitohs all make a re-signing a piece before some bold moves in Las Vegas make headlines.
You can't ask for much more from the first trial of the season after the Parramatta Eels piled on the points against the Newcastle Knights and escaped without any major injuries. Jason Ryles was left with plenty of food for thought following the victory and The Tip Sheet looks to add extra servings to his plate as Sixties and Forty20 breakdown the game. It was on for young and old as both established stars and fresh new faces impressed but the boys look at how the team played on a macro level in their initial dissection. What has changed under Ryles (and his new coaches) and how much powder was kept dry? Finally, the show runs through a comprehensive list of who caught the eye and it features plenty of young talent. What changed in the battle at fullback? Did the Eels unearth a true deputy to Mitchell Moses? Who dacked Zac Lomax? We have all the answer on The Tip Sheet!
