Welcome to the fourth and final part of the interview with the amazing Ian Ogilvy! Ogilvy is best known as the star of the television series Return of the Saint (1978–79), in which he assumed the role of Simon Templar from Roger Moore (1962–69). The role led to his being considered a leading contender for the role of James Bond in the early 1980s, when Moore announced his intention to leave the role. Ian Ogilvy never played the part (in part due to Moore's reconsidering his resignation on several occasions), although he did play a Bond-like character in a series of North American TV commercials broadcast in the early 1990s. At least once, in an episode of Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, "Dragon's Wing II", he played a Bond-like British agent, complete with white dinner jacket. Tune in and get to know us! Call Time is about the deeper side of what it means to be an actor and an artist, bringing in a variety of opinions through a different guest each week. With these guests, Duke and Joe will also navigate the inner-workings of the business side of the arts. Will they find the answers they seek? New answers every Monday at 6pm. Tune in to see. Michael Sloan was born into a British theatrical family and raised amid the smell of greasepaint and the sound of applause. Bob and Suzanne’s conversation with Michael starts with his youth as a budding actor and his early adventures writing and producing his own independent feature films. Michael’s story then demonstrates his unique creative instincts as he describes how he got his first major primetime television break writing for Columbo, a credit that propelled him toward a meteoric career path at Universal City Studios and beyond. Sloan’s credits soon ranged from BJ & The Bear (where he gave Bob his first primetime writing gig) and Quincy to McCloud, Battlestar Gallactica, Sword of Justice, and The Return of The Man From Uncle... to name only a few of hundreds! His was the producing and writing “juice” behind unforgettable shows like Kung Fu: The Legend Continues and the contemporary Alfred Hitchcock Presents. And as if his hundreds of writing and producing credits weren’t enough, Michael was also the creator of one of television’s most highly-acclaimed suspense and action series, The Equalizer—now a major motion picture starring Denzel Washington set to appear in theaters worldwide. Almost as “throwaway” in the interview, Michael reveals that his wife—actress Melissa Sue Anderson of Little House on the Prairie fame—first suggested Denzel Washington in the role of The Equalizer’s “Robert McCall” a full seven years before the movie went into production…and then we learn that Michael’s new novel The Equalizer has just debuted in bookstores everywhere. With great wit and humor, the lessons Michael Sloan shares in this podcast are truly bricks of gold on the road to Hollywood success!
Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth Interview with Marina Anderson, Ex-Wife, Author, “David Carradine: The Eye of My Tornado”About Harvey's guest:Today's show is all about a highly acclaimed and beloved legendary actor who captivated the world in dozens of movies including “Death Race 2000”, “Cannonball”, “Bound for Glory”, “Armed Response”, “Thunder and Lightning”, “The Serpent's Egg”, “Gray Lady Down”, “Deathsport”, “Circle of Iron”, “The New Swiss Family Robinson”, and the classic Quentin Tarantino movies, “Kill Bill: Volumes 1 and 2”. And of course, on TV he was immortalized for his portrayal of “Kwai Chang Caine” on the classic hit series “Kung Fu” and “Kung Fu: The Legend Continues”. Our guest had a 6 year relationship with David Carradine, and she was married to him from 1998 to 2001. She was also his manager during that time, and she is widely credited for motivating Mr. Carradine to achieve sobriety and revitalize his career. Following his untimely and shocking death in 2009 in a Bangkok hotel room, apparently caused by “auto-erotic asphyxiation”, our guest wrote a fascinating, compelling and eye-opening, bestselling book about her tumultuous, chaotic, exasperating and intensely passionate relationship with David Carradine. The book was revised in 2014 to incorporate the conclusions she reached following her own personal investigation into the bizarre circumstances of this enigmatic superstar's mysterious death. Our guest has had a long and multi-faceted career in the entertainment industry, not only as an actress, but also working behind the scenes as a manager, writer and publicist, and she's also a strong and devoted advocate for animal welfare. For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com/To learn more about Marina Anderson, go to:https://www.marinaanderson.net/https://www.facebook.com/marinaanderson1@harveybrownstone,#harveybrownstone,@harveybrownstoneinterviews,#harveybrownstoneinterviews,#MarinaAnderson,@MarinaAnderson,#DavidCarradine,@DavidCarradine,#DeathRace2000,#Cannonball,#BoundforGlory,#ArmedResponse,#ThunderandLightning,#TheSerpent'sEgg,#GrayLadyDown,#Deathsport,#CircleofIron,#KillBillVolume1,#KillBillVolume2,#KwaiChangCaine,#KungFu,#KungFuTheLegendContinues,#alcoholism,#substanceabuse,#autoeroticasphyxiationAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
