I wanted to share a quick overview of what the Hash Makers Guild is about, especially how we're structuring things here in South Africa, so we're all on the same page before we go live.As you know, the sale of THC remains technically illegal here, so everything operates in the same legal grey area that private cannabis clubs do.The Guild itself isn't a club, but rather a cooperative network and quality control body. Our aim is to bring breeders, nurseries, cultivators, hashmakers, and distributors together under one trusted system — so we're all working with proven washing strains, proper standards, and clear agreements. This ensures that the final product that reaches clubs is consistent, clean, and craft-quality — but the final distribution happens through Guild-approved private clubs, not the Guild directly. It's all about protecting the craft, operating responsibly within the legal framework, and setting a standard for the community, so we never blur the line into public retail or open commercial sales.Of course, you're recognized as our High Wizard Bubbleman, Father of the Brotherhood, and your insights and legacy mean a lot to us as we build this out properly."Trusted by top hash makers from around the world since 2016, The Press Club is your one-stop-shop for award-winning solventless gear. Mediaite editor Aidan McLaughlin speaks with Ryan J. Reilly, who covers the Justice Department and federal law enforcement for NBC News— he's been as tuned into the fallout of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol as anyone. His conversation on Press Club comes just after President Trump, on his first day in office, issued sweeping pardons to more than 1,500 individuals arrested in the Jan. 6 riots— people Reilly has been closely watching since 2021. He speaks on the astounding manipulation of public perception on Jan. 6 by Trump and his supporters, how Jan. 6 "broke the U.S. Justice System", and if he believes Trump will face any real consequences. In the second half of the episode, Mediaite founding editor Colby Hall speaks with Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy about his coverage of the Biden White House, and how he plans to cover Trump.

Kim Williams on the future of the ABC

ABC chair Kim Williams has been slammed for recent comments made about broadcasters like Joe Rogan, as the national broadcaster undergoes a wave of structural changes. During his first Press Club address, Kim Williams took aim at the podcaster, saying commentators such as Rogan “prey on fear”. Mr Williams was there to deliver a speech calling for greater investment in the ABC, which he said had lost $150 million a year over the past decade, and to talk about the importance of public broadcasting in an age of disinformation designed to sow division. Williams' tenure as ABC chair comes at a time of deep disruption for the broadcaster, with the departure of many beloved presenters sparking questions about the competency of management. Today, ABC chair Kim Williams on what's ahead for the broadcaster, and whether he's in the right job. Feature interview: ASIO Director General Mike Burgess on encryption and access

Mike Burgess is the director general of ASIO. But the thing about Mike is he's actually a cybersecurity guy. He joined ASD, Australia's NSA, back in 1995 when it was still the Defence Signals Directorate. He was there for 18 years before he bounced out to the private sector for a while to work as the CISO for Australia's largest telco, Telstra. In 2017 he returned to ASD to run it, and in 2019 he was appointed director general of ASIO. Back in April, Burgess made a series of comments on the topic of encrypted messaging during a Press Club speech in Canberra. Our right to privacy, he said, is not absolute, and he implied that if certain providers didn't start helping Australian authorities out a little more, he'd use some of the provisions in Australia's Assistance and Access bill to force them to provide access to certain content. So I reached out to organise this interview to get some more detail from him about exactly what sort of cooperation he's seeking and why.
