On the 2003 album of nerdcore pioneer mc chris titled "Knowing Is Half The Hassle", he did a track called "White Kids Love Hip-Hop" which featured his fellow [adult swim] voice acting star Andy Merrill doing the voice of his "Space Ghost Coast To Coast" and "Cartoon Planet" character Brak delivering a rant about how how he couldn't find anything fun to do in the town where he lives. Every year at the MarsCon Comedy Music Track there is a concert called the 'Smackdown' where all of the acts that performed that weekend come back on stage to close the weekend by taking turns doing cover versions of their favorite comedy songs. I, the great Luke Ski, have a long bucket list of comedy songs I love that I would love to perform a cover version of someday at the Smackdown concert. "White Kids Love Hip-Hop" has been on that list for years, with my assumption being that if I ever did it, the 'Brak' part would have been played by me doing my impersonation of Brak, as I had done for my 1998 tribute song "Baby Got Brak". In 2024, we were fortunate enough to book Andy Merrill as the Comedy Music Guest Of Honor at MarsCon. I was ecstatic. As I continued working on plans for the event, I eventually got around to looking at my bucket list of potential cover songs so I could pick one to cover at the Smackdown. When my eyes came upon the title "White Kids Love Hip-Hop", it hit me like a power band blast... I could cover "White Kids Love Hip-Hop" and ask Andy Merrill himself to reprise his role as Brak for the rant at the end of the song. I asked him if he'd be willing to, and he said yes. And the audio record of that actually happening in real life is what this FuMP track is. After we performed it, Andy took his turn at the Smackdown and performed a couple of "Weird Al" covers to finish off the weekend. I reached out to both mc chris and Andy Merrill to get their permission to post this live cover at the FuMP, and they both graciously said yes. So many thanks to both of them, you both have been inspirations to me, and have always been nice to me, which means a lot to this middle-aged fanboy. I admit, I do trip up a few of the lyrics in my performance, but I still think it went great, and it's one of my all-time favorite MarsCon memories that I wanted to share with everybody here at the FuMP. Music by Professor Shyguy Back-up White Kids: Lindsay Smith and Insane Ian This track is a part of the MarsCon 2025 Comedy Music Track Fund Raiser album, which is a nearly 4-hour-long MP3 album of live concert excerpts from MarsCon 2024, available to download for just $30 at the Shop page of MarsCon Comedy dot com. Besides the great Luke Ski and Andy Merrill, it also has performances by Insane Ian, Power Salad, Nuclear Bubble Wrap, Holy Bongwater, Jake Dewar, and many others. The funds raised go towards covering the hotel room costs for the performers of MarsCon 2025. Speaking of which, MarsCon 2025 is happening March 7th thru 9th in the Twin Cities, MN, and features our Comedy Music Guests Of Honor, John S. Hall and Dogbowl of King Missile (Dog Fly Religion), sponsored by Needlejuice Records. Normally we save our "Too Many Comics" reviews for the ESO Network's Patreon supporters. But this one is for everybody, as Kevin and the Mayor flip through the oldest comic book we have here at the studio. And oh yes, it features a chicken. Published by Quality Comics way back in 1946, it's Egbert #4. In the lead story, Egbert the chicken and his fox buddy The Count enter a pie-eating contest. Try to contain your excitement. And because comic books were much larger back in the Golden Age, we also have stories with Nero Owl, Rollo Raccoon, Picklefoot Pig, the Bunny Boys, Beany Bear, and more. (All this for a dime!) Plus: Weird ads for Pepsi, cap guns, and electric football games. Now according to an online price guide, our Egbert comic is virtually worthless. (And you'll find out why!) But come on, it's a chicken comic from 80 years ago, and you can't put a price on this kind of silliness. The Flopcast website! The ESO Network! The Flopcast on Facebook! The Flopcast on Instagram! When Luke Ski performed "What's Up, Spock?" at MarsCon 2022 he ended it by joking that he was going to add a new verse about Star Trek: Discovery, then said "No, I can't make that song any longer." Well, I can! So here is an updated version of "What's Up, Spock?" that includes verses for Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, Prodigy, and Strange New Worlds. This song will be included on a new album of cover songs that I've done over the years, which will include a few new ones such as "It's All About the Pentiums" by "Weird Al" Yankovic using a chiptunes version of the original music, and "Tortuga" by Alestorm featuring pirate rapper Captain Dan. The album will also include my covers of "New Math" by Tom Lehrer, "The Big Five-0" by Doodoo Wah, "The Laundromat of Sin" by Worm Quartet, a few live performances from the MarsCon Dementia Smackdown concerts, and more! Cover Up will be available on Bandcamp on Friday, May 3rd. Lyrics: Luke Ski, Devo Spice Vocals: Devo Spice Background vocals: Devo Spice, Shoebox, Insane Ian Music: Trevor Cochran

The Mandalorian finds a vent into the sewers, where he hopes to find his people's hidden stronghold. Moff Gideon gives them until nightfall to surrender, or he will order his troops to fire, before saying Din Djarin, the Mandalorian's real name. MARC The Mandalorian recognizes Gideon, who had been an officer of the Empire's secret police when the Empire took over Mandalore. IG-11 arrives on a Scout Trooper's bike with the Child, blasting through the stormtroopers. The Mandalorian takes down several more, but is badly wounded by Gideon. As the group take cover inside, Gideon orders a Flametrooper to incinerate them, but the Child uses the Force to reflect the flames and kill the trooper. MIKEY The Mandalorian and IG-11 remain behind while Dune and Karga take the Child into the sewers. Pointing out that a Mandalorian's face being seen is technically not a violation of the Mandalorian creed, as he is a droid and not a living thing, IG-11 removes the Mandalorian's helmet, revealing the latter's face for the first time. After treating his injuries they then rejoin the others in the sewers. MARC Arriving at the Mandalorian enclave, they find it abandoned except for the Armorer, who explains that the Imperials found the enclave when the Mandalorians revealed themselves. Upon seeing the Child, the Armorer is reminded of the Jedi, whom Mandalorians see as their ancient enemies. She instructs the Mandalorian to take the Child to the Jedi, wherever they might be; she also carves a Mudhorn signet into his pauldron and gives him a jetpack. MIKEY While the Armorer remains behind, the Mandalorian, Dune, Karga, IG-11, and the Child escape down an underground lava river. IG-11 decides to sacrifice himself by walking into an ambush and activating his self-destruct. After they emerge from the tunnel, Gideon attacks in the TIE fighter in which he arrived. Using his jetpack, the Mandalorian plants explosives on Gideon's fighter, which brings down the craft. MARC With the Imperials seemingly dealt with, Karga invites the Mandalorian to return to the Guild, but he refuses as he must take care of the Child. Dune elects to remain behind to work as Karga's enforcer. The Mandalorian buries Kuiil's body beneath a cairn of stones and departs Nevarro. Meanwhile, Gideon cuts himself out of the crashed fighter with the Darksaber. THANK YOU PATRONS Mikey: Marc and I make our living as full-time musicians. Yes, I know there are plenty of songs about the benefits of a pantsless existence (one of which I participated in and even reference here) but this new song by P!nk was too good to not give the parody treatment to, despite some -- myself included -- feeling this may be more in the "dumb parody ideas" realm. From my upcoming B-side collection, "Smarm-Proof Lobster Cabinet", due out at Marscon 2023.
Luke Ski returns to the FuMP to do the scariest thing he can think of... express his point of view on a specific aspect of a current societal paradigm via the art of the comedy song. Will he survive? Who knows. If he does survive, then this track will end up on his long-awaited forthcoming album "Needlessly Meta" which will be released this March at MarsCon 2023. November 2022 and it's time for Thanksgiving. Recently the world lost a truly caring, loving and giving human, Judy Tenuta. A comic, a musician, The Love Goddess and Petite Flower. She was a friend. I performed with her at MarsCon 2017 here in Minneapolis, MN. We play her music and comedy in this show PLUS we dive headfirst into "Food". All kinds of food for Thanksgiving. Clara The Sheep and my wonderful wife whom I have known for 30 years, joins me on a very "filling" episode. TRT: 2:13:37 --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thezonelive/support

It's Valentine's Day and nothing say hot lovin' like an episode of Manic Mondays! It's short, usually one-sided, and can be downright comedic. Ok, that's Seamonkey's lovemaking these days, but beside that point, enjoy this week's odd ode to love. 1. Locked In The Closet With You 2021 version by SuLu 2.
