These are the celebrities we discuss in the first part of this hour, and then later, it's a discussion on LOST and the DVD culture we used to love in America.
We did it! We finished The Mandalorian! Not just the finale, but the first and second epilogue too!The action-packed conclusion to The Mandalorian brought laughs, drama, and really closed the loop on the themes of the whole series. We compare two big bads of the empire, Moff Gideon and Grand Admiral Thrawn; and worry about how we still don't know where Big Blue is (or what nefariousness he's up to). We also talk about the future of Mandalore as defined by its past and by its potential.Next week, our Ahsoka coverage begins with Ahsoka Part 1: Master and Apprentice.New to Growing Up Skywalker? “The Spies” (The Mandalorian, Chapter 23) presents a real good news/bad news situation for the Mandalorians. The good news: Mandalore is habitable! The tribes have united! There are only a few terrible megafauna left to terrorize the planet! The bad news: The Imperial remnants have formed a Shadow Council following up on allllllll of their predecessors' special interests, and Moff Gideon is angling to be their boss. This week, we're talking through the good (the Child piloting IG-11's corpse) as well as the bad and ugly (the rise of fascism throughout the galaxy once more). Callbacks to Rebels and The Clone Wars abound in The Mandalorian's season 1 finale, but in the end, this show has always known what it's really about. In our recap of “Redemption” (The Mandalorian Season 1, Chapter 8), we wrestle with questions of honor, if it matters, and why it's so important to try. We also cover the chain of ownership of darksaber (and question why Lando doesn't have it??), the importance of the Child, and the role of Moff Gideon in the somehow still-functioning Empire (???).Buckle up—this could be a real adventure! At the end of "The Mandalorian" Season 3, the evil Moff Gideon was (supposedly) killed. As we saw during the meeting of the Imperial Shadow Council, Gideon did not seem interested in falling in line behind Grand Admiral Thrawn once the blue-skinned warlord returned to the galaxy. Now that Gideon is supposedly out of the picture, who will step up to take his place, and will they fall in line behind the Grand Admiral or will they continue the fierce independence of Gideon? Join me as we discuss.

“It was the magic of the environment that drew me in. The idea that you could tell a story, and the live audience follows it, and they could be a part of it, emotionally involved, if it was engaging,” actor Giancarlo Esposito told me about his childhood as an actor. You know him best as Gus Fring on Breaking Bad, Buggin Out in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, and Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian, but Giancarlo has over 200 credits as an actor. His latest series, Parish, “Follows a taxi driver whose life is turned upside down when he agrees to pick-up a Zimbabwean gangster mostly known for exploiting undocumented immigrants at the U.S. southern ports.” In this interview, we talk about regulating energy as an actor, the differences in stage and acting for camera, confidence as a 10-year-old Broadway star, his half-Italian half-African American background, and how he connects emotionally to characters and projects. The episode starts off with high Magistrate Carga on Navarro 7 as the pirate ship looms over his town's skies, as Gorian Shard hails him. Shard makes fun of Greef and says basically that he's gone soft and rich, that he's not the man he used to be. He blames Greef for killing his pirates in cold blood, doing the typical pirate thing where they manipulate and twist scenarios. Greef says it's not a good idea to fire on Navarro 7 as he's connected, and Shard laughs, telling him he's not part of the New Republic, nor is Moff Gideon protecting him anymore. Shard blows up the town of Navarro and Greef takes his townspeople to the outskirts of the city as he calls the New Republic for help.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
As the series goes on, its message surrounding politics gets muddy. What is this show trying to say, if anything at all? Meanwhile, the Armorer sends Bo-Katan on Rumspringa. Moff Gideon's ship is found with remnants of Beskar. And you CANNOT make A.Ron watch any Star Wars cartoons, ok??!!? Is Grogu on his way to becoming a Dark Jedi? Moff Gideon at the end of The Mandalorian Season 2, was bested and defeated by Din Djarin, the Mandalorian. Once Luke Skywalker showed up and saved them all from the Dark Troopers,In Mando 3 ep 3 we saw the group of old Imperial workers now changed to the New Republic all talking about Moff Gideon, where one guy says he escaped. Today let's examine if he actually did and how that would change The Mandalorian Season 3.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Mando completes the ritual to be a recognized Mandalorian again, but that doesn't mean he's free from problems. There are whispers of Moff Gideon's alleged escape. Bo-Katan wavers on her personal beliefs. And someone is collecting junk heap urinal cakes. This episode begs the question…is this just another backdoor pilot??Feedback can be sent to mando@baldmove.com. No credits necessary. Hey there! To tame one is beyond difficult and has been done by Mandalore the Ultimate or in new canon if they're the same person, Mandalore the Great. Now that Bo Katan has seen a Mythosaur as she was saving Din Djarin, and as we know, she wants nothing more than to rule Mandalore once again. After losing her dark saber to Moff Gideon, and then to Din Djarin the Mandalorian, she has not been the same. It seems she's very depressed and down in the dumps about it all, very jealous, she has become as Yoda would say.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Get caught up for the PREMIER OF MANDALORIAN, SEASON 3 For all my podcast listeners! This weekend, I'm continuing to publish the complete, never released audio from my SEASON 2 “SHOW BREAKDOWNS.” This episode had it all! The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 6 finally shows the one and only, Boba Fett in the spotlight. We see Boba return and eventually help Din Djarin and Grogu against Moff Gideon's Storm Troopers and Dark Troopers (phase 2 I think), who end up taking Grogu.Fennec Shand reminds me a lot of Zam Wessel from Attack of the Clones, who was pursued by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, until Jango showed up.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Man this was a great trailer. Let me first say, the show needs Cara Dune / Gina Carano back in it. Other than that, the trailer looked really good. I think this will be the best Mandalorian season yet. I can't wait to see more of Grogu's experience with Order 66 and how all the Mandalorians unite to fight against the remnants of the Empire. I wonder what happens to Moff Gideon and the dark saber, as it seems Mando Din Djarin doesn't have it on his belt anymore. Thank you for listening to today's podcast. I hope you have a great day, and I'll see you in the next one! May the force be with you, ALWAYS! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
