LHRB 379: The Streaming Showdown w/ The Broadcast GeeksThis week on Left Hand Right Brain, JD is joined by Matt Orrin, Jake Becker, and Mitch Jones—the gang behind the Broadcast Geeks podcast—for a wide-ranging, off-the-rails conversation about which streaming platform reigns supreme, they share hot takes on forgotten gems like My Name Is Earl, and uncover the dark side of media consolidation. There are impressions, deep dives into suits (both TV and legal), and some classic Broadcast Geeks-style chaos.Whether you're into comic books, comedy, or corporate takedowns—this episode has something for the inner geek in all of us.Follow LHRB on Facebook, Instagram @lefthandrightbrain, Twitter @LHRBpodcast, or just hit us up old school on the website lefthandrightboainpod.org#LHRB #BroadcastGeeks #ComedyPodcast #StreamingWars #GeekCulture #DenverComics #JakeBecker #MattOrrin #MitchJones

Welcome to Episode 335 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR's have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake & Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.    Our outies are talking about our innies with Severance still dominating the conversation, as we approach the end of the second season.  More and more revelations even though we're still trying to put pieces together to the puzzle.  Is Lumon just an ether based cult?  I guess we'll just keep watching to find out. Matt O plans to drive a fast sports car, and we also have a few episodes of Daredevil that dropped and we give some spoilers, including about the death of a beloved character.  Then we talk about Danny McBride and some of his finest roles.  What's your favorite? On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR's have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake & Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.    Severance is still on our minds, and it dominates this episode.  We got through some more theories about MDR and what they are doing, as well as some of the higher ups at Lumon.  As a result, we end up talking about Primate Protocol, whether we would each get Severed, and the Arquettes.  Find out which is our favorite of the low budget Baldwins.  Oh yeah, Marvel still has a future and we talk about that with the upcoming Fantastic Four movie.   You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR's have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake & Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.    It's happened.  Mitch Jones has drank the Kool-Aid, avoided the CliffsNotes, and officially watched Severance.  Theories abound over what they are doing at Lumon Industries and everyone's role in it. After some deep innie/outie discussion, and casting ideas such as Matt Berry as Ricken, we talk about Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman which is a new animated series on Disney+.  It has a cool, comic book-y style to it and is an alternate MCU offering.  Jake gives some hot takes, and then we talk about how Paul Reubens and Jeremy Allen White look alike.   You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. Welcome to Episode 265 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR's have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Nate, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.   We talk about the endings of both Umbrella Academy, and also Stranger Things.  Stranger Things answered a bunch of questions, but not all.  Will doesn't get the catharsis he needs by professing his love for Mike, and we're not sure what's up with Vecna.  So we didn't get closure here, nor did we get it on Umbrella Academy.  Who built that machine that Reg is so curious about?  Where did they end up after resetting things?  Where are the powers?  So many more questions to answer now!  And for some reason, there is an Avatar sequel that nobody really asked for, 13 years later.  At least Marvel is bringing the Defenders to D+, so we got that going for us! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR's have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Nate, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.   The Umbrella Academy is a lot of fun to watch, and that takes up a good chunk of this episode.  They did an excellent job of addressing the change from Vanya to Victor, essentially addressing the change from Ellen to Elliot Page.  It was addressed and treated very skillfully.  Ms. Marvel is also a lot of fun and tackles its own issues very well.  Lastly, we transition to Stranger Things, as it is (at the time!) close to airing the last 2 episodes of the season.  We start a Dead pool and make our predictions.  Who did you pick? Speaking of They, WTF is going on with Ezra Miller?  There are serious doubts as to when the Flash movie will be released and some of us think they should ditch him and cast someone else.  However, rather than re-film, they should just digitally place Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster.  We pay respects to Gilbert Gottfried (RIP!) and Mitch breaks down his feelings for the Halo show.  Tell us your thoughts on any, or ALL, of this stuff! We talk Disney, because we are their slaves like Leia was to Jabba.  We talk about their inevitable cartoon hour and when would be good times to show certain shows, like Duck Tales!!  Apparently, they pushed out an entire season in 2 weeks, showing new episodes daily.  Jake drops a bomb shell about the last episode that gets Matt Orrin all aflutter. Let's get dangerous!  Mitch watched Batman Beyond, and then shared that with us.  We talk basketball movies, comic books, and the Jetsons meeting the Flintstones.  Supposedly, they live way way way high in the sky, and down below on the ground (after the fallout???) is a prehistoric world with Fred and Barney.  Pretty wild, eh? On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR's have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jake, Mitch, Chris Baker and Matt Orrin) joined by Jeremy Pysher and Rebecca Robinson, are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  The table was full this week with guests and good conversation.  We talked Disney+ and also what shows will end up on there, hopefully including Duck Tales which has been releasing episodes every day it seems!!  The show is still so good and Jake breaks down the new episodes for us.  Disney+ is months away and some of us already have our subscriptions ready.  We talked a lot about a Lizzy McGuire reboot, then more about the generational differences of TV shows from our youths. Next, Jake and Mitch were GEEKED out over a new show on HBO, Righteous Gemstones.  Anything with John Goodman is worth it, but this has a solid supporting cast.  Its about a family of Televangelists that get caught up in a sticky situation.  After switching to the return of Titans, we somehow end up on Reality shows, specifically Bachelor of Paradise.  Rebecca Robinson gives us her analysis of the show and why its so good.  We wrap it up with a breakdown of the Joker film reactions, a film which doesn't come out for a month, or so.  Some of us are reluctant to see the movie in the theaters, due to the increasing number of weirdos and incels out there, ready to act on any whim.  A theory about how Open Mics are gonna be affected after the movies premieres, makes for an interesting discussion.  What are your thoughts on the movie?    You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com.
