Chris, Kyle and Dana recap Day 7 of track and field at the Olympics which was highlighted by Katie Nageotte's gold medal in the women's pole vault, where she became just the third woman to win gold in the event at the Games. This was a true moment of redemption as she missed the 2016 Olympics, switched coaches and took a leap of faith to continue within the sport. She gets the Magical Performance of the Day honors. The men's 400 meter final was not as delightful for U.S. fans as Michael Cherry ran a personal best for fourth place and Michael Norman took fifth but Team USA was shut out of the medals for just the third time in history. We beg the question: Is the United States (particularly the men) having a bad Olympics and what's the possible cause. Also discussed in this episode: – If you're Damian Warner and you finally win gold in the decathlon after three Olympic cycles, do you keep going? – We still need a healthy and full-on KJT vs. Thiam heptathlon rivalry – Cole Hocker looked really good in the men's semifinals of the 1,500 meters; Reigning Olympic champion Matthew Centrowitz gets eliminated – Gutsiest performance of the day: Nick Willis runs his fastest time in four years in the semifinals of his fifth Olympics at 38 years old – A brief women's marathon preview + Much More TUNE IN AND LISTEN TO TORCH TALK WITH CHRIS, KYLE AND DANA. Our daily podcast covering the Olympics is presented by Hayward Magic. Hayward Magic is a really unique and fresh editorial channel on IG that captures the magic and intensity of track & field. Their mantra is #makeittohayward because Hayward is not just a place. It's a state of mind. It's where guts meet magic. All athletes, fans and feats of guts welcome! @HaywardMagic on Instagram. Well, here's just the thing to get your holiday shenanigans started -- a brand new episode! After a prelude featuring Michael Cherry and Grady Dennis musing on that yucky thing that runners do, we welcome the one and only 2SCOOPS to the studio for a featured interview. Dana and Deena spill the tea on all the stars that steal from them, preview their latest self-help book, and plug their upcoming performance tour! Then they threaten us. #2scoops4eva
A happy humidity to you! We tear open this episode with Michael Cherry explaining the nuances of the Rhode Island accent. Then Jodi Coyote spins a mystical tale of a magical bus ride. The latest episode of "The Convo" is next, in which we ask "Why bother?" Then Michael Cherry can't stay away and MUST talk of skate parties. And lastly, the lovely Selena Coppock relives some memories of Michigan Ave retail.
With a suggestive and trippy-dippy open, we welcome you to our thirty-third trip around the podcastical sun. Guest star Michael Cherry leads things off with a phone-based pet peeve. Guest star Ginger Kearns explains how her father creates VERY detailed itineraries for her trips home. And guest star Katie Aldhizer tells us of her time in prison, and when she had to hit the sauna. Besides all this, we award three of our Digie Awards, honoring excellence in the employment of the tools of this, our digital age. Boop!
May we say how thin you're looking? This is the 29th get-together that we've unleashed upon the world, and we start with guest star Katie Compa telling us something new we can do with our garlic. Then guest star Drew Droege relives his early experiences in the theatRE. Then you lucky people get to meet Craig and Greg, a fabulously happy gay couple. Then guest star Pushy Muldowney tells the tale of an awkward date. And lastly, guest star Michael Cherry lets us know what you should NEVER try to check at a coat check.
With a canonical opening, we welcome you back to Fall and back to these whimsical quarter-hours that we share every copuple of weeks. This time, guest star Michael Cherry tells the tale of a smoker who enacted a crippling revenge. Then we've got another "Gotta Ask Grenadine". Jason follows up by describing a gift he begged for, but wishes he didn't. Then we find out what happens when Netfilx recommendations run amok. And lastly, guest star Sheila Mitchell reminisces about a dress rehearsal when she felt exposed.
We feel rested, don't you? Rested and ready to welcome you to the 22nd episode with some sighs and some fireworks (ying and yang). Guest star Michael Cherry then tells of some people of privilege he once met on a cruise. Tape cassette tours of Civil War battlegrounds are the focus of Daniel's next story. Then other guest star Sheila Mitchell shows us how to really work the express lane. And then Michael is back to leave his mark with another story about his same cruise, which leads Grady to butt in with a story of his own.
We lost out on the Riunite sponsorship account because of this episode's opening, but ah well. This 21st episode has a recurring segment in which we check out what Grady has stored in his old voice memo recordings. In addition to these treasures, Grady tells the tale of a REAL hot oil treatment. Jason relives his early stage appearances. And guest star Pushy Muldowney tells of a wedding wardrobe malfunction. (Michael Cherry and Sheila Mitchell guest star this episode, too!)
Gasp! I didn't see you there. Bit of a schizophrenic episode for you this time, but that, as they say, is showbiz. Besides a visit with the Sad Girls during study hall, and a recurring nightmare of a bad dream, guest stars Drew Droege and Michael Cherry help us to regale you with a story or six. Topic covered? Lillian Vernon...women who shout f*ck at the dinner table...fridge makeup...Jason's worst meal...huffy people waiting in line...and the time Drew played a busted drag queen on "Eastenders". Voila!
A visit to the spooky cave of spirits and untold treasure starts off the episode that would not be mentioned if it were a floor in a highrise. Yes. Anyhoo, youthful Grady Dennis tells a couple tales of buyers remorse. We then get the next episode of "What's in My Box?" Guest star Michael Cherry relates the particulars of his first stage appearance before we almost seamlessly segue into the first public performance of the song "Babies, Babies". We then wrap this ol' thing up with discussion of "proper form" with Sheila Mitchell, and how to write songs "in the style of..." Ding!
Have a chair! It's time for a new episode! After a rather spacey opening, we jump right in and hear all about guest star Ginger Kearns' early stage appearances. The first episode of "The Convo" is next, when we ask if we should bring in the plants or not. Then we hear about other guest star Michael Cherry's yearbook photo outfit, before getting clued in on the luxurious mystery that is Grady's "liquid voice".
