Episode 126It's finally happened! We did our first LIVE SHOW!What a fun time we had. It was so great to have everyone down to the CC Club in Minneapolis to join us and tell ghost stories and laugh and eat and drink. We are so excited to have been joined by two special guests Leah Evenstar and Dawn McClain, and also to have had several audience members join us on “stage” and tell their ghosty stories. Pour yourself a stiff drink and join us where The Activity Continues. Content Warning:In this episode we discuss death of loved ones and pets. The swearing was really kept to a minimum. No F bombs.  The Activity Continues is a paranormal podcast where soul friends, Amy, Megan, and AP chat about pets, true crime, ghost stories, haunts, dreams, and other paranormal stuff including the TV show, The Dead Files. We also sometimes interview interesting people, whether it be a paranormal professional, a Dead Files client, or a listener with spooky stories. This episode was recorded live at the CC Club on October 26, 2024, and released on October 31, 2024. Chapter Markers00:00:00 Intro00:00:38 Oopsie00:01:50 Leah Evenstar00:15:19 Dawn McClain00:36:35 Karrie00:42:29 Terrie00:49:42 Jeff00:52:46 Listener Story - Heather00:54.32 Listener Story -Lyn00:57:05 Karrie01:00.29 Listener Story -Zoey01:04:56 Terrie01:09:53 Wendy01:17:18 Taylor01:19:00 Karrie01:22:06 Amy reads from The Nearly Departed by Michael Norman01:25:33 Listener Story – Raven01:27:42 Megan reads from The Nearly Departed by Michael Norman01:30: 46 Listener Story – Julie01:35:13 Thank yous, goodbyes, and food recommendations01:36:39 Outro Episode links:Leah Evenstar: https://www.goldenphoenixhealing.com/Dawn McClain: https://www.dawnatdark.com/Twin Cities Paranormal Society: https://www.tcpsmn.org/CC Club: http://www.ccclubbar.com/The Nearly Departed: Minnesota Ghost Stores and Legends by Michael Norman: https://amzn.to/48xi9NGAmazon links could generate a small commission to us at no cost to you.#CommissionsEarned Credits:Hosted by: Amy Lotsberg, Megan Simmons, and Amy PiersakGuests: Dawn McClain, Leah Evenstar, and friends and guests at the CC ClubProduction, Artwork, and Editing: Amy Lotsberg at Collected Sounds Media, LLC.Theme song. “Ghost Story” and segment music by Cannelle https://melissaoliveri.com Socials and other goodies:Our website, https://www.theactivitycontinues.com/ Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/theactivitycontinues Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theactivitycontinues/ Reddit: https://new.reddit.com/r/TheActivityContinues/Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheActivityCont   Blog for extras: https://www.theactivitycontinues.com/blog/Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/theactivitycontinuesYouTube: https://bit.ly/TAC_videos Newsletter sign-up: http://eepurl.com/hWnBLL SEND US YOUR PARANORMAL STORIES!Email: stories@theactivitycontinues.com and maybe it will be read on the show!Or visit our website, https://www.theactivitycontinues.com/ and click on the microphone icon to leave a message and maybe it will be played on the show! BE OUR GUEST!Are you a The Dead Files client, or a paranormal/spiritual professional, and are interested in being interviewed on our show? Over the past few years, Norman has dealt with setbacks and injuries that prevented him from consistently performing to the best of his ability. After winning 400m Gold at the 2022 World Championships, Norman switched to the 100m dash, failed to make the 2023 USA team and switched coaches twice. But now with his 2024 seasons opener, he looks to be healthy and ready to return to the top of the podium this year. Is Norman now a threat for gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris? Michael Norman is the world champion at 400 meters and he just made headlines last week as he told NBC that in 2023, he will be focusing on the 100 meters. As the defending gold medalist, he's got his spot secured for the World Championships in Budapest so I am here for his experiment. He's run 9.86 for 100 meters, 19.70 for 200 meters and his 43.45 personal best for 400m makes him the fourth-fastest man in history. He is just 25 years old so there is tons of potential to be excited about. In this episode, I appreciated his honesty in talking about the disappointment of finishing 5th at the Tokyo Olympics, how he overcame that to win gold last year and what it's going to take to get even faster and stay on top. Mike is a big Formula1 fan so we also had some fun talking about that, why I need him to start a podcast with Rai Benjamin and much more. On August 24th 2004, Joanna Hayes won the Olympic Gold medal in the Women's 100mH in Athens, Greece. She became the first American Women to win Olympic Gold in the event since Benita Fitzgerald at the 1984 Olympics. Her winning time of 12.37 broke the Olympic Record in the event set back in Seoul 1988. Hayes has since transitioned into coaching, now working at the University of Southern California as the Assistant Sprints and Hurdles coach. She also works with pro athletes such as Rai Benjamin, Michael Norman, Kendall Ellis, Kyra Constantine among others. At the recent 2022 World Championships in Eugene Oregon, we sat down with Hayes to talk a bit about her history competing, perspective on the hurdles and now working as a coach. We dive into her background growing up in California, looking up to Flo-Jo, JJK and Gail Devers, and doubling in both the 100mH and 400mH. We also discuss her 2004 Olympic Gold, the current landscape of the Womens 100mH and what she loves about coaching and working with athletes now.
