Hello my fantastical people! Today, I will be discussing the 14th chapter of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Also, I will be discussing the possibility of a new Harry Potter movie, my thoughts on Cursed Child, and much more!

Turn to Page 228, Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback. Today’s lesson is called Distractions. The chapter starts with the trio relieved that Quirrell seemed not to be giving into Snape, but stressed by their first upcoming final exams. While studying in the library, Hagrid asks them to visit him in his hut. After discovering that many of the professors helped to hide the Sorcerer’s Stone, they find that Hagrid is nurturing a dragon egg that he won from a stranger in the pub. Later, Harry suspects that Malfoy overheard them talking about the dragon egg. After they see the new dragon emerge from its egg, their awe is quickly replaced by anxiety when realize that Malfoy had seen them. They convince Hagrid that Norbert should be delivered to Charlie Weasley in Romania. After delivering the dragon to Charlie’s friends, they are dismayed when Filch catches them in the act. We're looking at Chapter Fourteen, Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback, and the story of how Cadmus founded the city of Thebes from Ovid's "Metamorphoses". Paul considers the old saying "fail to prepare, prepare to fail" and we talk about how themes of preparation, responsibility and carelessness are at play here. We also theorise over character motivations: why does Hagrid take such a huge risk with Norbert? And what motivates Malfoy in this chapter?

Zoe reads Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback and Robin reads The Wandmaker. In these chapters: Hogwarts is Love Island and also mostly library, Harry is a fake friend, Hagrid is endless sidequests, there are Malfoy manners at Malfoy Manor, and the world just needs more laughter.

One Sentence Summary Anderson starts with the one sentence recap of how our trio of protagonists are studying and then come across something that surprises them. What Do the Tiny Potters Think? Addison and Anderson relate to this because both of them have been busy with studying for the standardized tests at their schools when they recorded this episode.  Addison and Anderson discuss the value, or lack thereof, of homework and the importance of recess. When Harry, Hermione, and Ron visit Hagrid’s the Tiny Potters share their concerns about not only how Hagrid obtained his newest pet, a dragon, but only the perils he may face. This segues into a discussion about the fact that when one of the heroes is injured, Madam Pomfrey doesn’t use common sense, the prevailing theme of this chapter when taking care of her charges. DOGS! This episode is all about dogs!
