This week, we're diving into They Will Kill You, a movie that lives up to its title in all the weirdest ways. Between chaotic moments, questionable decisions, and a few White Claws along the way, things get… loose. Join Griffey, Heath, and Sam as we break down the madness, call out what works (and what absolutely doesn't), and try to make sense of a movie that might not want to be understood. If you like horror, bizarre filmmaking, and conversations that go off the rails fast, this one's for you. Synopsis: A woman takes a job as a housekeeper in a NYC high-rise, unaware of the building's history of disappearances. She soon realizes the community is shrouded in mystery. Starring: Zazie Beetz, Patricia Arquette, Heather Graham, Tom Felton, Myha'la, Paterson Joseph irected by Kirill Sokolov Youtube: https://youtu.be/6T4qm1mOo_w
SPOILER'D: They Will Kill You — The Ending, The Pig Head & Why the Immortal Twist WorksFull spoilers. No mercy. Cupcake and Mike are diving all the way into They Will Kill You, Kirill Sokolov's gloriously unhinged action-horror film starring Zazie Beetz, Patricia Arquette, Heather Graham, and Tom Felton. We break down every major beat: the burning axe scene (an all-timer), Heather Graham's rogue eyeball, the hotel's satanic hierarchy, what the devil's pig head actually means, and that ending. We also talk about the film's surprisingly sharp class commentary, the Get Out-adjacent themes of power and sacrifice, and why this is one of the most fun hard-R genre films in recent memory if you go in with the right mindset.Think Kill Bill's gleeful brutality meets the John Wick hotel mythology meets Big Trouble in Little China's "just catch up" storytelling energy — and you're in the right zip code.───────────────────────────────

For this week's main podcast review, Katie Johnson, Josh Parham, Aaron Isenstein, Dan Bayer, and Tom O'Brien join me to discuss "They Will Kill You," starring Zazie Beetz, Myha'la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham & Patricia Arquette. Written and directed by Kirill Sokolov (co-written with Alex Litvak), the action-horror-comedy combines many genres into B-movie shlock to provide bloodthirsty audiences with as much entertainment as possible from its simple premise: a woman desperately searching for her sister encounters a satanic cult in a foreboding New York City high-rise. What did we think of it, though? Please tune in as we discuss the action, Zazie Beetz's performance, the wacky directions the story takes, whether the "eat the rich" trope is getting played out, whether we think there will be a sequel, and more in our SPOILER-FILLED review. Today we’re diving headfirst into the fantasy epic based on Enid Blyton's classic series, delivering magical worlds, a massive enchanted tree, and the kind of spectacle that makes you wish your living room was a cinema. While some of the modernised elements split us down the middle, the visual world-building is exactly what we dreamed of as kids. And Em has a review of the new slasher film that’s currently tearing up the cinema. With a Harry Potter fave taking on a wild new role and a plot full of gory surprises, we break down whether this hotel horror delivers or if it's just too bloody for its own good. Is it actually scary? Did Em spend the whole time covering her eyes? And why is this the perfect group cinema experience.Plus, we’ve started the new horror series from the Duffer Brothers - and it’s moodier, more claustrophobic, and far more unsettling than you’d think. It's a high-stakes wedding mystery that is so bingeable you’ll be up until 2am like Laura trying to figure out the twist. Three very different vibes. One very stacked weekend.Love binge-watching TV? JC: We were in a theater full of people who were there because they wanted to see Tom Felton, and like you said, they queued for tickets, they paid a lot of money, they clearly are fans. I heard people crying around us, people were laughing... Everybody in that theater was thrilled; people leapt to their feet at the end to clap. "Fackham Hall" is a period parody comedy film set in 1930s England that crosses "Downton Abbey" with "Airplane!" and "Monty Python." It is directed by Jim O'Hanlon and written by comedian Jimmy Carr (in his screenwriting feature debut) with Patrick Carr and The Dawson Brothers. It stars Damian Lewis, Thomasin McKenzie, Ben Radcliffe, Katherine Waterston, Tom Felton, and Jimmy Carr. It follows loveable pick-pocket Eric Noone (Radcliffe) as he lands a job at a unique English manor house. He quickly rises through the ranks, and a forbidden romance with the lady of the house, Rose Davenport (McKenzie), blossoms. But when an unexpected murder occurs, Eric gets framed - leaving Rose and her family's future perilously uncertain. McKenzie, Radcliffe and O'Hanlon were all kind enough to spend some time talking with us about their experiences making the film, which you can listen to below. Please be sure to check out the film, which will open in theaters on December 5th from Bleecker Street. Thank you, and enjoy! Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... There's refined British comedy, and then there's “Fackham Hall,” a movie that waltzes in wearing period-accurate garb on the outside and immediately trips over the furniture. It's the kind of delightfully silly romp where aristocrats brood, servants scramble, romance simmers, relatives wed, and the background is working twice as hard as the actors to steal every scene, like “Downton Abbey” politely offering you tea while “Airplane” swaps the sugar for gunpowder. Set between the wars, the film follows starry-eyed servant Eric and rebellious aristocrat Rose as their forbidden attraction detonates inside a household already teetering on the edge of absurdity. The ensemble includes Thomasin McKenzie, Damian Lewis, Katherine Waterston, Tom Felton, and a sprawling cast of blissfully serious performers.Joining The Discourse in today's episode are “Fackham Hall” director Jim O'Hanlon and star Thomasin McKenzie, who break down how the team crafted a period comedy where the jokes never stop multiplying and the sincerity has to be played with absolute conviction.

Fáilte ar ais chuig eagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo ar an 22ú lá de mí Mheán Fómhair, liomsa Lauren Ní Loingsigh. I 1977 tharla stailc I gcóir cúpla seachtain I rith an samhradh agus rinne sé damáiste do na seirbhísí telex. Bhí contúirt ann go mbeidís siad chun pléasc arís tar éis a rinne siad fionraíocht ar dhá theicneoir innealtóireacht in oifig an phoist. I 1990 rinne cumann oifigeach príosúin ghlaoch ar an scuad calaoise chun fiosrú a dhéanamh ar neamhréir sa chiste de 12 míle punt I mBaile Átha Cliath. I 1990 tháinig sé amach go mbeadh an costas 4.6 milliúin punt chun an bhóthair a dheisiú ó Inis go Scariff. I 1995 bhí na daoine I nDroichead an Chláir, Inis agus an tSionainn buartha faoi na héifeachtaí a mbeadh ann de bharr an phlanda nua ag Syntex I nDroichead an Chláir leis an chostas 12 milliúin dollar. Bhí siad buartha faoin tionchar ar a shláinte. Sin Shaggy le Boombastic – an t-amhrán is mó ar an lá seo I 1995. Ag lean ar aghaidh le nuacht cheoil ar an lá seo I 1990 chuaigh Garth Brooks chuig uimhir a haon I Meiriceá lena halbam No Fences. Tá sé an t-albam ceol tuaithe a dhíol den chuid is mó ag an am agus dhíol sé níos mó ná 13 milliúin cóip sa chéad cúig bliana. I 1991 bhí Bryan Adams uimhir a haon sna cairteacha sa Bhreatain lena hamhrán Everything I Do I Do It For You agus bhí sé uimhir a haon do 12 seachtain. Agus ar deireadh breithlá daoine cáiliúla ar an lá seo rugadh amhránaí Andrea Bocelli san Iodáil I 1958 agus rugadh aisteoir Tom Felton sa Bhreatain ar an lá seo I 1987 agus seo chuid de na rudaí a rinne sé. Beidh mé ar ais libh amárach le heagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo. Welcome back to another edition of Ar An Lá Seo on the 22nd of September, with me Lauren Ní Loingsigh 1977: A strike which crippled telex services for many weeks during the summer is was in danger of erupting again following the suspension of 2 post office engineering technicians. 1990: The prison officers association called in Garda fraud squad to investigate a £12,000 discrepancy in the funds of a Dublin branch 1990: it was reported that £4.6m was needed in order to bring the Ennis/ Scariff road up to scratch. 1995: People in Clarecastle, Ennis, Shannon and surrounding areas are scared of the effects which the proposed $12 million incinerator plant at syntax, Clarecastle would have on their health and quality of life. That was Shaggy with Boombastic – the biggest song on this day in 1995 Onto music news on this day In 1990 Garth Brooks album 'No Fences' entered the US album chart. It went on to become the biggest selling country album of all time and sold over 13m copies in the first five years of release. 1991 Bryan Adams made chart history when '(Everything I Do), I Do It For You', had its twelfth consecutive week as the UK No.1 single. And finally celebrity birthdays on this day – singer Andrea Bocelli was born in Italy in 1958 and actor Tom Felton was born in the UK on this day in 1987 and this is some of the stuff he has done. I'll be back with you tomorrow with another edition of Ar An Lá Seo.
The Potter Discussion: Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and the Wizarding World Fandom
Send us a textIn this episode, we discuss which actors should reprise their roles in the new Harry Potter TV show. Enjoy!Topics/Summary:· Listen to episode 287, “Tom Felton is returning to Broadway. Who should return to the TV show?” Here!· 4:10 Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy. He was the perfect blend of haughty, rude, and fearful. He portrayed a fantastic arc, and really showed us what it means to be afraid. Without a doubt, he would be a great addition. · 10:21 Alan Rickman as Snape. He shouldn't return. His performance was too perfect. There are no changes I can think to make to it, and so I don't think Alan Rickman should change that. Getting another actor puts a stopper in the bottle of his performance and really immortalizes it.· 18:25 Matthew Lewis as Neville Longbottom. This is an interesting case, because there's no chance for him to return as Neville, but there are other possibilities. Perhaps, he can be a herbology professor who watches over himself in a way, and sees just how much he grows.· 24:41 Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange. I don't think she should return, because she absolutely crushed it. We should get some new blood in there to preserve the performance.· 27:00 Jude Law as Dumbledore. I know, he doesn't really count, but the Fantastic Beasts Dumbledore is pretty close to the same time as some of the flashbacks we got in the films. It would be super cool if Jude Law played the younger version of him. It would put in a natural separation that Dumbledore himself wants between who he was, and who he wants to be.Having anything you want to hear or say? The Potter Discussion: Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and the Wizarding World Fandom
Send us a textIn this episode we discuss cameos that should appear in the new Harry Potter TV show. Enjoy!Topics/Summary:· 2:14 Tom Felton as Lucius Malfoy. If we have a reminder of all Draco went through in the films, we could understand his character earlier on. Perhaps we could make deeper revelations on his character by the end of the TV show compared to the film. · 11:38 Harry Melling as a background wizard. Dudley's arc is one of the most heartwarming in the story, despite the fact that he starts as a big bully. If we see him as a wizard, that will show us his evolution as a character. We get a glimpse at what life could have been when he says goodbye to Harry, and I want to keep that at the back of our mind when watching his character from the beginning.· 18:53 Matthew Lewis as a herbology assistant. Neville grows up to be the herbology teacher at Hogwarts. We can't put him in as Professor Sprout, but on the side would work well. I want to give the viewer the reminder that Neville has a long arc ahead of him and is headed for greatness.· 22:55 Mark Williams as Slughorn. Slughorn is very wishy-washy when it comes to the memory, and I want Mr. Weasley to come in and bring some integrity to the character. That would be a great choice to bring some honor to Slughorn.· 25:15 The reason why I chose these cameos is to remind us where we came from. I want to keep the films in mind when watching the TV show, but we shouldn't lean on them and use them as the sole point of comparison. The TV show should be another piece to the fandom that will give us another perspective on the characters we think we know so well.Having anything you want to hear or say? GET YOUR MULTIVERSE NEWS MERCH HERE:https://multiverse-news-shop.fourthwall.com/Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesDuring a recent appearance on Carmelo Antony's 7 PM in Brooklyn Podcast, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler reignited speculation that Denzel Washington is set to play a pivotal role in the third film of his socially thoughtful superhero franchise. When questioned about Washington's prior claims that Coogler was developing the film with a role intended for him specifically, the director confirmed them, saying, “there's no fiction out there about that”. In unrelated, but still Marvel news, tickets for The Fantastic Four: First Steps went on sale last week, crashing several major theaters online ticketing services and accompanied by a new trailer that appears to show us our first look at Franklin Richards. On the TV side of things, per Deadline sources, Schitt's Creek actor Emily Hampshire has joined the cast of the upcoming Vision Disney Plus series as E.D.I.T.H., the artificial intelligence that appeared in Spider-Man: Far From Home. And finally, a second trailer for Ironheart was released on Monday.Late last week, Superman director and DC Studios co-head, James Gunn took to social media, as he is want to do, to announce and celebrate the completion of the film's final visual effects shot, with which he claimed the film to be 100% done ahead of its July 11 release. In the wake of that announcement Gunn took the opportunity to address fan questions surrounding the film's runtime, which he confirmed to be 2 hours and 9 minutes including credits and post credit scenes, while also kiboshing any speculation that Warner Bros had forced a shorter, mandated runtime, saying there was zero truth to it and that Warner Bros could not have interfered even if they wanted to, as it's a DC Studios film. All of this is compounded by rumors that DC Studios will not be focusing on any of their films at SDCC and Gunn's cagey Entertainment Weekly interview from earlier today where he claimed the DCU's Wonder Woman film is being written as we speak.Time for another good old fashioned trailer park, featuring the highly anticipated follow-up to last year's breakout hit, Wicked: For Good, whose first trailer garnered 113 million views in its first 24 hours – and our first full length trailer for Noah Hawley's upcoming FX series, Alien: Earth, which also announced the series for an August 12 premiereMarvel Animation premiered the first episode of the Disney Plus series Eyes of Wakanda during a panel at the Annecy Animation Festival in France, Monday morning. During the panel we learned from director Todd Harris the show will be “anthology-adjacent” and will consist of four episodes.Mia Goth has joined Ryan Gosling in Star Wars: Starfighter, the feature from director Shawn Levy. Although casting details are scarce at the moment, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that she will be playing a villain. HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series has announced nine actors playing key roles for its first season tackling Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The added cast includes Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge. Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, will reprise the role on Broadway. Felton will join the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway starting Nov. 11, for a 19-week engagement through March 22, 2026. A VR game based on Marvel's Deadpool franchise is set to launch later this year from Meta Quest with Neil Patrick Harris voicing the Merc with a Mouth. The game will launch sometime later this year.
