Welcome to Chick-Lit, & Chick-Lit At The Movies! We're a literature comedy podcast where we get lit
The Chick-Lit podcast is genuinely one of the best podcasts out there. Hosted by Aubree and Karyn, their dynamic and hilarious personalities make this show a joy to listen to. Their reviews of books are so engaging that it feels like you're reading alongside them. Even when they tackled the cringe-worthy Twilight series, they managed to make it their absolute favorite "season" with their amazing banter and insightful reviews. The only downside is that there isn't more content because I would easily binge-listen to all their episodes if given the chance. If you're not already listening to The Chick-Lit podcast, you are truly missing out on a fantastic experience.
On the positive side, one of the best aspects of this podcast is Aubree and Karyn's incredible chemistry and banter. They genuinely feel like best friends, and their back-and-forth conversations are filled with humor and genuine connection. It's easy to get caught up in their discussions and feel like you're part of the conversation. Furthermore, their book reviews are pure gold. Their analysis is thoughtful, witty, and relatable, making it easy for listeners to find common ground with their perspectives.
As for downsides, it's hard to find any major flaws in this podcast. However, if anything, it would be that there isn't enough content available at once. The desire to binge-listen is strong because of how enjoyable Aubree and Karyn's conversations are. Having more episodes readily available would satisfy this craving for continuous entertainment.
In conclusion, The Chick-Lit podcast is an absolute gem in the podcasting world. Aubree and Karyn bring a refreshing blend of humor, insightfulness, and nostalgia to each episode. Listening to them feels like chatting with long-lost friends about beloved books from our childhoods or even current favorites. This podcast has quickly become a favorite for many listeners due to its light-hearted nature and the joy it brings. If you're looking for a podcast that will brighten your day and leave you wanting more, The Chick-Lit podcast is definitely worth a listen.

Happy Friday Chickadees! Welcome to our first episode recorded in 2025! Join the girls as they discuss our current political hellscape, Karyn's obsession with Nosferatu, and the next two chapters of "New Moon". Will Bella ever learn to act like a normal fucking person? (Spoiler: no.)
Here's yet another blast from the past! This is the final episode that I'm release that was recorded last year, everything from here on out will be after our Christmas bitch session!
Welcome to 6 months ago! Karyn has had a backlog of edits for the past... long while, so now the girls are coming at you from July of last year. Buckle in for some dated references and discourse about pre-election politics and the Trump assassination attempt. We then discuss the next two chapters of New Moon and how god damned mormon SMeyer is.
Obligatory, "it's been a minute". We promise we are still here, and we're still doing this shit! We are back for a little Christmas check in! Instead of talking about the holiday, Karyn and Aubree update each other on the world of famous true crime, including the most recent UHC CEO shooting, which prompts Karyn to confess her unending thirst for Luigi Mangione, as well as gripes with the healthcare system. The girls also catch up on what they've been up to, as well as reveal plans for the future of the show. We day drank for this one, so it's bound to be fun!
Welcome back listeners! It has been a hot minute since we put out and episode, so some of the topics discussed therin may feel a bit dated. Think of it like joining the girls on a trip back in time! Topics include: Pride Month, Karyn's ill-fated Memorial Day Savannah trip, and Bella's weird child-grooming behaviors. The girls also do a quick deep dive on the life of Embry Call. Join the ladies for their first episode back in quite a while!
The girls dive into the next two chapters of New Moon, RFK Jr's Brain Worm, first Twilight experiences, and the strange motif of Bella's entire family throwing expensive camera equipment around. They also trudge through Bella's crippling depression, toeing the line between being concerned and making fun of the way that Stephenie Meyer writes.Check Patreon for our Rant Corner on the Israel Palestine conflict/protests!
This week the girls dig into the first two chapters of the book, and also discuss hobbies, being a Pickme, how to Pronounce Susan Meyer's name, George R. R. Martin's obsession with incest, and other magical tales!
Happy 7th season! We have returned to cover yet another Stephenie Meyer book- it's New Moon! Get ready for emo Bella, papercuts, and weird racist wolf lore on this season of Chick-Lit!
We are back with the final episode of our Angus season! Join the girls as they discuss Kate Middleton Conspiracies (admittedly, in poor taste, considering what came to light shortly after this recording), Armie Hammer's Arm and Hammer Fortune, and the final two chapters of Louise Rennison's innaugural novel. Will Georgia redeem herself? Will the Sex God ever love her? What book are the Chicks doing next season? Be sure to tune in and find out!
What in the hell are we still doing here? Georgia is stalking Lindsay, Herr Kemeyer is keeping his balls still, and things are just haywire with Angus. We discuss Dune, which Aubree has never seen, and we lose it over tea towels. Karyn would hang with Kylie Jenner over T-Swift. Turn on, tune in, and drop out!
We are finally back with the penultimate episode of this season! In this episode the chicks cover June through July of Georgia's year, as well as all the crazy shit that happened at Woodstock '99, Karyn's new hobbies, and Aubree's sweet new puppy!
Happy Weekend! The gals are back from the past (took us a little longer to release this episode than we planned) to discuss Georgia's February, Elon's November, Karyn's adventures, and much much more! Tune in as we get back on track with Georgia's dumb teenage ass, and ponder what in the world the rural NC costume designers were thinking when Aubree's dad played Leonardo Da Vinci.
It's Christmastime again, and we are back with another Xmas themed movie episode, featuring Arthur Howell from the 2 Cents Critic Podcast! Karyn has guested on Arthur's pod a couple of times (check those episodes out!) so the girls are excited to have him on their show to discuss 2008's “Four Christmases”, starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn! It's a favorite of Karyn's and a not-so-favorite of Arthur and Aubree's... Other things discussed include (but are not limited to): Hollywood Bad Guys, Aubree's childhood version of the Little Jack Horner poem, and the fact that Karyn thought Santa Claus might be her real dad. Join in the fun and be sure to have a happy holiday and check out Arthur's Show!
The Girls discuss Jada's insane behavior, Britney's new book, life after grief, Karyn's first burlesque show and virgin Rocky Horror experience, and of course, January (aka "Exploding Knickers")!
Aubree went on a cruise and everything is crazy! We discuss our lives, smut books, and "December" from Angus. Why is Georgia so homophobic??
In this episode the girls discuss December, nepo babies, AnCaps, and much much more!
It's been quite a while since we released a movie episode, but you know the bois over at Scuttlebutt are here to insert some chaos! The girls chat with Morphius, Hermes, and Theron about 1989's "Dead Poet's Society", among other random topics, including but not limited to: Who the fuck is the Pioneer Woman? Are Karyn's nieces secretly listening to the podcast? Wtf is with all these creepy secret societies at educational institutes? And is Morphius really "going to the park?" Tune in for a wild time featuring some of our OG pod besties.
Hi Folks!Karyn and Aubree are taking a few weeks off while Aubree's apartment gets... de-flooded. But we are dropping a Patreon exclusive episode this week as a special treat to our patient listeners! This week the girls read their highschool/early 20s journals about each other when they used to be frienemies! Matt and the Chicks discuss a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to: insane testimonies, Christian university underground rap culture, why the Newsboys keep replicating, and launching trashbags into dumpsters from high places. This one is a bit of a departure from our normal Author Files structure, but we were just having too much fun! Find Matt on social media: https://www.youtube.com/@MattGarnier
Hey Ya'll!So instead of covering the book again this week, we are getting a little bit real about what's been going on in our lives, as well as talking more current events (Fuck you, Colleen!). Obviously we are still dishing out the dark humor, we just wanted to record despite not having finished our homework this week. This week we also talk about our hot takes on the Titan disaster, what the hell happened to the Education Connection lady, and what we've been up to lately. Why is Georgia such a bully?! Merry Christmas folks! We are bringing you a very special holiday treat this year with one of our oldest podcasting buddies!
